Its not there anymore, but when it was it was brilliant. The food was fantastic, the staff were delightful. Whatever occupies that site next, will never live up to these standards.

I can honestly say I've never found anywhere like it since.

You couldn't wish for a better place.

Charlies is a great little local cafe with friendly staff and an eclectic mix of clientele... It offers a range of freshly-cooked food and paninis some with a mediterranean flavour. It is the perfect place to linger at the weekend with a cooked breakfast and a pile of newspapers or to take advantage of its free wifi over a cup of fresh coffee and a pastry. I have to disagree with Dulcie Burt, who seems to be reviewing Macondo in every UK's food site as the worse place to go in Britain.
Macondo has what other locals haunt, which is fresh and quality food, an excellent Colombian fairtrade blended bean, home made cakes and a beautiful and relaxed atmosphere and design. They add service only for tables that gather four or more people or when the bill is above £20.

So it will continue being one of my preferred locals.

Candid cafÃ© is not that hard to find, but it is pretty secluded. On the first look you wouldn't think it's a cafe but just residential building.
The inside of the cafe is nicely decorated, cosy and relaxed. View isn't the best but I'm sure the courtyard is great place to sit in during summer time.
There are lots of info and art/event phamflets offered, so you can find interesting things to see and visit.

Coffee was good, price reasonable...

I was so pleased when I came across this place, I've been looking for it since I moved to London.

It's a very small space and every nook and cranny is used, even when it gets busy it still feels relaxed and cosy.

It's spanish influence is clear but not over done, the cakes and pastries are delicious. The wine is ok but get here early to get a seat, because once you've sat down you won't want to leave.I was so pleased when I came across this place, I've been looking for it since I moved to London.
