I've been several times to Macondo - hoping each time it will live up to expectations and have been disappointed on every visit - orders were wrong, took a long time to come some of the drinks were poorly made and the staff seem at best disinterested. Maybe I've always picked a bad time to go - but there are places nearby which don't try as hard to be something but do it better.

Jeremy Brill runs the cool Brill in Exmouth Market. Brill stocks hand picked records, with great CDs in the Jazz and Soul collection. Jeremy quickly realized that having a simple record shop wouldn't be enough to survive in a challenging economy where people buy records more and more on an online basis. So he decided to look at the shopping experience and transformed his shop with a cafe aspect to it where you can get coffees, bagels from brick lane and even free wifi which is awesome.Jeremy Brill runs the cool Brill in Exmouth Market.
