I highly recommend this restaurant for its authentic Chinese food . Even the ambience is authentic to the the places you would find in Hong Kong or Malaysia.
Food portions are very good and service quick. The kitchen staff will cook to order ( within reason!).
Unlike the previous reviewer we have never had greasy rice and if you order the wrong type of Sweet and sour chicken its going to come in batter balls!
I and my wife have been coming here for the last 15 years and try to eat here when down in London because it is so much like eating in cafes in the far east.
Try their crispy Pork its delicious. The singapore fried rice is also very good and can be made a spicy as you like.
Maybe I should n't write such a good review because as soon as people try the Green Jade they will be always coming back and I might not be able to get a table!There's only 4 of them!I highly recommend this restaurant for its authentic Chinese food . This is one of a number of solid local restaurants on the Holloway Road - not really places to trek out to, but perfectly acceptable if you're in the area or live locally.

The food is pretty standard tapas (as far as I can tell, tapas not really being one of my specialist styles of cuisine) but is moderately priced and more than made up for by an inexpensive wine list and a genuinely nice atmosphere.

Not really a place to come for a romantic dinner a deux - the place works much better with a larger group - especially on the way to or from the pub.

This is the kind of Indian restaurant that it's always good to have on your doorstep.

The food is of superior quality (try the lime rice with garlic chicken), and the wine list is perfectly adequate, if somewhat restricted. Vegetarians and vegans are reasonably well looked after.

The ambience is good, and the staff are reasonably attentive - and if you're in a hurry (and tell them) they can feed you and send you on your way very quickly, which makes this a favourite for dinner before going to the 1920s cinema down the road.

If youâ¬"ve had a hard time of it chasing a shuttlecock around the Sobell Leisure Centre and are feeling way too healthy, there is a small Ecuadorean cafe on the Holloway Road where you can eat a meat feast for under a tenner. What you read on the menu is what you get, but be prepared for the deep friedness! Pique Macho is a Bolivian dish of epic proportions - a mountain of beef with rivers of mayonnaise squeezed on top. Urban legend has it that if you can finish one on your own, you are properly macho; itâ¬"s a pity we didnâ¬"t know that before ordering a main each, as well as those plantains smothered in cheese to startâ¬¦ Churrasco Equatoriano took my fancy as I didnâ¬"t really know what to expect of a dish containing plantain, avocado, fried egg, meat, rice and chips. By the time the food arrived, we had already quaffed one of the huge bottles of beer that they serve for a fiver and were salivating in anticipation of the freshly made food. But like I said, what you see is what you get - all the ingredients are cooked separately and laid out on the plate. It was certainly very colourful and I wish Iâ¬"d had my camera with me. As a cheap lunchtime haunt this is pretty good. It's hard to turn up your nose at the 3:50 lunch especially on a cold day. The place is quiet with a solemn, slow air. Perhaps its the thick old-fashioned tableclothes or the air of mystery & polite reserve that the head waiter has that help create this ambiance. The food is cheap, good value but lacks sparkle - the ingredients have just been hanging around too long. Never order a takeway from them - it takes forever - by the time it arrives you could have passed out from low blood sugar, and the stuff is colder than a fishes nose.As a cheap lunchtime haunt this is pretty good. I really didn't have high hopes the first time I ate here, from outside it seems a tad grubby and (with all respect), I didn't have seven sisters road pegged as a hotbed of Japanese cuisine. I couldn't have been more wrong, as soon as you enter the staff make you feel welcome, and once you do order the food is outstanding. The Sushi is generous an well put together, whilst the grilled mackerel is to die for.
