Robin Hood / Zorro is an Anglo TexMex or "English - Mexican Eating House" as they call themselves.

I don't think they are trying to start a new sub-genre of cuisine but whay they provide is standard Fajitas, burgers, steaks & a few blander British dishes.
The quality of food has been fine on both occasions I have been here but nothing has ever really impressed me enough to purposely want to visit.

If I am in the mood for this kind of food I would rather head to 'Texas Embassy Cantina' or 'Chiquito's' who both at least a couple of dishes that I get cravings for.

Robin Hood / Zorro are worth trying out if you fancy some Tex-Mex and are in the Hammersmith area. The atmosphere varies from quiet to quite boisterous with large group bookings(?) and even families with small children.
'Mexican Cantina' is probably a better bet for more regular mexican dishes on the menu though.

The food was reasonably good in this Persian restaurant, but the service was appalling. It completely ruined our meal. The waiting staff could not pronounce the names of the dishes, and referred to them by number (this is not acceptable in a restaurant). They made numerous mistakes with our order and the mishandling of the serving of our starters resulted in some of our party being served their main courses as others were being served their starters. And as some of our party were finished before others as a consequence, the table was stripped making my friends who were still eating feel like they needed to cling onto their plates out of fear they would also be whisked away from under their noses. This is not a comfortable way to enjoy a meal. At the end, we were overcharged. There seemed to be a veritable army of staff standing along a wall laughing and gossiping, but not at all paying attention to the diners. The staff are badly trained and badly managed. 'Anarkali' are one of the best of the many Indian restauants along King Street in Hammersmith.
The menu is varied and has most of the old favourites and a few house specials.

I have never eaten in but the Take-Away service is fast & friendly and at certain times over the years they have offered a delivery service which can be a little inconsistent - unlike the rather similar 'Tandoori Nights', my other top choice on King Street..

However, the food has ALWAYS been good.

I have never eaten in, but as my Chiswick local front-runner 'Annapurna' do not deliver I have found the slightly more expensive 'Tandoori Nights' to be the next best thing.
The Lamb Madras, Lamb Pasanda, Dal Soup AND of course, the Tandoori Grills are my regular favourites.

Over the years I have had MANY deliveries/Take-Aways from such places as:

This is a small kebab shop that has quite a few tables and chairs tucked away in the back considering its size.

I ordered the Lamb Shish and was pleased to observe they did not cut into it during the cooking process as this loses a lot of the lamb's flavour and juices. It was a small grill but did have the unmistakable smell of charcoal.
The meat itself was of a good quality with a nice smokiness obtained via the charcoal.
The salad was very fresh and the pita bread also just right.
The chilli sauce was not up to the other parts though; it was thin and sugary sweet.

Service wise they are efficient if not particularly friendly. The Lebanese Taverna on Fulham Palace Road does a fairly standard Schwarma.
It is not quite as good as Al Dar or the Maroush/Ranoush Juice/Beirut Express mini chains but is along the same lines.
They do deliver to the surrounding areas though and therefore many times I have ordered from them as opposed to having a Pizza, Indian or Chinese sent.

The Lamb Shish, normally a favourite from other Kebab Places, has rather large cubes of lamb that are not particularly tender or juicy but are still fair quality being lean with no fat. I normally opt for the Mixed (Lamb & Chicken) Schwarma which is of a decent standard that is comparable to other Lebanese eateries.
The Chilli sauce is nothing special and as with a fair amount of Schwarma outlets there seems to be a "One size fits all" policy that means they tend to build all Scwarmas the same unless you make a point of being specific about sauces and so on. This means a Lamb Schwarma regularly gets Sesame sauce (which I don't like) and Garlic sauce and a Chicken version gets just the Garlic sauce.
A small amount of salad is also standard for both types. The Garlic sauce/mayo is rather good however and goes very well with their grilled chicken wings. Chips are a hit and miss affair - sometimes they are just right, other times under or over cooked. Consistency varies, sadly.

I now live in Chiswick so I seldom order from these guys anymore. I would still recommend Lebanese Taverna though, especially if you are sitting at home with a few mates watching a game on the box and fancy ordering in, they seem to have a large delivery radius too. 1st Class kebab house!

There are actually 2 Best Mangals - both on North End Road and I have been to both many times. It has a huge Ockabasi (SP?) a traditional Turkish BBQ/Charcoal grill and the meat comes out better than any other kebab I have tasted in the UK. A wonderful smokey flavour. Their Lamb Cop Sis (Chop Shish) is my favourite with smaller cubes, they also have regular shish, but I have tried nearly all the range at different times.

The Doner is more like a Lebanese schwarma, fresh cuts of meat on the upright grill as opposed to a minced meat mis-match and is truly superior to 95% of doner in London. Kofte is not a fave of mine but if you like a smokey and herby "sausage" of a kebab then you are in for a treat. The lamb chops and lamb spare ribs are excellent as well. Chicken shish is smokey and top notch. All in all for the meat my 10/10 score is no exaggeration - you will not find better, period.
Chilli sauce is good but not always consistent in heat. Sometimes it blows my head off and other times it is not hot enough yet I always have the same amount. Garlic sauce is just fine. The bread is unusual in that it is not Pitta but freshly baked "Village Bread" which is more akin to a huge chapati or tortilla and somewhat "floury". It is worth trying but I sometimes go elsewhere just because I miss a regular pitta kebab. They also do a thick "Nan" type bread but it does not fold enough to roll around the kebab. If they did pittas as well I would never go anywhere else. Prices are not cheap at Â£5.50 for my fave chop shish (Â£5 for Lamb donner) but portions are generous and quality is far above most Kebab places so it is not overpriced for take away. If you eat in or have a doner with rice prices are more.

A friend took me to the Gate sometime ago, it was a birthday surprise. We found it hidden in the church yard, in an airy room that apparently used to be a gallery. After delicious rasperry bellinis we polished off a mezze for two, a portion of ravioli and roasted almond and cauliflower korma. It was a great feast accompanied by a bottle of a lovely organic beaujolais. I enjoyed the evening thoroughly, tasted amazing flavours of the Gate culinary inventions, and even got a the Gate cookbook on my way out. As a French, I am used to vietnamese restaurants. In my country though, we tend to wrongly qualify them as "Chinese" restaurants and they tend to be associated to small, dodgy though convenient restaurants where you may order a take-away but would never expect to discover a culinary jewel.

As a result, I was kind of reluctant when my better half suggested to go out for a Vietnamese restaurant that night. Sorry, but clichÃ©s are long-lasting. Anyway, the surprise was total from the moment we stepped in. The colonial decoration and the super-trained staff suddenly raised the bar. Obviously this place had nothing to do with what I knew about Vietnamese cuisine and kind of expected.

The ambiance is kind of romantic despite the proximity of the tables. The candlelight, the darkwood pannels... everything contributes to focus on your opposite number who happened to be as surprised as I was by the extensive menu in front of us. Starters, soups, traditional mains and specials, all witha great diversity and superb advice from the staff who help you make the right choice, depending on your tastes.

Reall enjoyed the food, and the portions were enough to stuff me. All was perfectly tasty, with this little twist that set the cuisine appart from the other South East Asian food.

The restaurant also offers a lounge downstairs which can be privatised, but the upstair dining area is a treat in itself.

Full score for Sagar! IÂ´ve been there a few times and itÂ´s my favourite. The food is just excellent, from samosas to curry to dosa to lassi. Also very good value, especially in this area. The best deal is their lunch offer: thali plates with a variety of small curry and chutney portions plus rice and a dosa for i guess it was 6 or 7 pounds.

This placed is named after the son of the family.

It does great breakfasts including 'the full English' and all its many variants.

In the evening the delicious north African flavours fill the restaurant. Delicious tagines and Tunisian delicacies.

It is BYO too. Great off-licence across the road.

I went to Chez Marcelle on the strength of reviews here; although the people that I was meeting let me down, Marcelle was lovely as was (I think) her daughter who was helping out. Real Arabic home cooking, which is just delicious as well, and very reasonably priced. It gets packed at weekends- with good reason! The only problem was that it was a bit hard to find: it's at the Olympia end of Blythe Road. I can't find any better place for meal than Kanna Thai Restaurant. Food are superb especially those Thai salad and combination of mix starters.

Red curry with Steam rice, Pad-Thai and Mix Veggy are my main meal. They all nice, I enjoyed them till I have no room for dessert which really upset me.

Went to The Knaypa with a small group of friends - we sat at ground floor level in the elegant restaurant setting. Very relaxed with live piano music in the background. Now this is the place, you can't miss out on...

The restaurant, during lunch and dinner times, is full and, usually, you need to wait for at least 15 min for a table, but it is worth the wait... It is usually very busy and buzzy, but quite friendly.

Sushi and salads are freshly prepared, juices freshly squeezed. All mains (rice and noodle) are absolutely delicious! The portions are big enough to even feed my husband!!

Staff are OK, they are fast and efficient, usually they leave you to yourself so you can enjoy the fantastic food...

Try their selection of sake (Japanese rice wine). I recommend the Singapore Noddles - my all time favourite.

They do take away and we do tend to oder in quite often.

Pricewise - the cheapest and tastiest Japanese so far!Now this is the place, you can't miss out on...

Try their selection of sake (Japanese rice wine). I recommend the Singapore Noddles - my all time favourite.

They do take away and we do tend to oder in quite often.

Pricewise - the cheapest and tastiest Japanese so far!

Can't say that we were very impressed with the food. Maybe it was an off night. The potato pancake was bland and unseasoned and the veal escalope pretty tasteless too. my mum and dad used to bring me and my brother here when we were young.
i came here for the first time since i was a child last year and loved it. the food is great and great value for money.

Went to Tosa last, very cold, night. The atmosphere is best described as "cosy", very welcoming and warm. We had a selection of Teriyaki, Sashimi, Tempura Prawns and grilled meats, all very well cooked and tasty. The standard Edame beans were also present, not something I particularly enjoy.

I have twice been to Lola and Simons. The first time i went with friends from New Zealand and i wanted to impress them. Once there we were served well by the waitress but the food took an age to get to our table. So while i waited i indulged in some over priced NZ imported beers to pass the time. Once the food came out i was disapointed to see that my friend had to send his over priced steak back and wait while his new one arrived.
When paying for dinner i decided to not pay for the service charge, and the owner asked me why i didnt pay for it, i explained what happened and agreed that i wouldnt let this ruin my veiw of this place, so i said ill come back.

And i did.............

Last Sunday i decided to give their brunch menu a try, just incase it was a one off.
Well the expresso was burnt, the waitress obviously not aware of the tempreture that water should be for expressos and also the eggs on the egge benedict were barely cooked and the hollandaise sauce had so much lemon juice it tasted like dishwashing liquid.
