Robin Hood / Zorro is an Anglo TexMex or "English - Mexican Eating House" as they call themselves.

I don't think they are trying to start a new sub-genre of cuisine but whay they provide is standard Fajitas, burgers, steaks & a few blander British dishes.
The quality of food has been fine on both occasions I have been here but nothing has ever really impressed me enough to purposely want to visit.

If I am in the mood for this kind of food I would rather head to 'Texas Embassy Cantina' or 'Chiquito's' who both at least a couple of dishes that I get cravings for.

Robin Hood / Zorro are worth trying out if you fancy some Tex-Mex and are in the Hammersmith area. The atmosphere varies from quiet to quite boisterous with large group bookings(?) and even families with small children.
'Mexican Cantina' is probably a better bet for more regular mexican dishes on the menu though.

The food was reasonably good in this Persian restaurant, but the service was appalling. It completely ruined our meal. The waiting staff could not pronounce the names of the dishes, and referred to them by number (this is not acceptable in a restaurant). They made numerous mistakes with our order and the mishandling of the serving of our starters resulted in some of our party being served their main courses as others were being served their starters. And as some of our party were finished before others as a consequence, the table was stripped making my friends who were still eating feel like they needed to cling onto their plates out of fear they would also be whisked away from under their noses. This is not a comfortable way to enjoy a meal. At the end, we were overcharged. There seemed to be a veritable army of staff standing along a wall laughing and gossiping, but not at all paying attention to the diners. The staff are badly trained and badly managed. 'Anarkali' are one of the best of the many Indian restauants along King Street in Hammersmith.
The menu is varied and has most of the old favourites and a few house specials.

I have never eaten in but the Take-Away service is fast & friendly and at certain times over the years they have offered a delivery service which can be a little inconsistent - unlike the rather similar 'Tandoori Nights', my other top choice on King Street..

However, the food has ALWAYS been good.

I have never eaten in, but as my Chiswick local front-runner 'Annapurna' do not deliver I have found the slightly more expensive 'Tandoori Nights' to be the next best thing.
The Lamb Madras, Lamb Pasanda, Dal Soup AND of course, the Tandoori Grills are my regular favourites.

Over the years I have had MANY deliveries/Take-Aways from such places as:

'Munch' is a new face on Hammersmith's King Street. It offers a variety of pizzas, burgers, curries, southern fried chicken as well as Kebabs.

I detect an Indo-Asian influence as the kebabs are wrapped in Nan bread. The skewered kebabs were all Tandoori spiced so I looked at the spits.
The Lamb Donner looked unappetizingly grey so I opted for the Chicken.
The server went off to the kitchen and returned with some presumably refrigerated chicken which he preceded to heat on the grill.
The Nan bread was fresh and quite nice, if you like that sort of thing. The salad was OK but nothing special. The Chicken Donner was NOT really of a good standard, but it being reheated may have something to do with that on this particular occasion.
The Chilli sauce was not to my particular tastes but not the worst I have encountered either.

This is a small kebab shop that has quite a few tables and chairs tucked away in the back considering its size.

I ordered the Lamb Shish and was pleased to observe they did not cut into it during the cooking process as this loses a lot of the lamb's flavour and juices. It was a small grill but did have the unmistakable smell of charcoal.
The meat itself was of a good quality with a nice smokiness obtained via the charcoal.
The salad was very fresh and the pita bread also just right.
The chilli sauce was not up to the other parts though; it was thin and sugary sweet.

Service wise they are efficient if not particularly friendly. This is a standard kebab shop with a fast & friendly service.
The Lamb Shish was decent if not outstanding in any way. The pita & salad were fresh.
The Chilli sauce would have been rather good but was VERY salty on my visit, I did ask for 5 spoons though.
The staff were friendly and efficient even though the drunks seemed trying - they must be well used to it!

If you are in the Goldhawk Road Shephered's Bush area this is a better choice than nearby Pasha due to the fast turnover and therefore fresher meat.
Eating in is the same price as take away, a written sign says in the window - it is not the sort of place I would enjoy eating in though unless it was raining.This is a standard kebab shop with a fast & friendly service.

Appetite in Hammersmith is a small takeaway with some seating. They do Fish and Chips, burgers and the like as well but seem to be a popular kebab destination for the local crowd.

It was raining so I dined inside at one of the small tables they have in the back of the shop. The Lamb shish was decent and they kept the cubes whole, which is preferable to slicing into them during cooking, although it takes longer to cook. I asked for lots of Chilli AND some Garlic sauce. The fresh Chilli sauce was very tomato based but still spicy with a medium heat. The Garlic was very "herby" and overpowered the weaker Chilli. At least it was not a sweet Chilli sauce from a squirty bottle - so this place still gets my vote over the fairly nearby Charcoal Grill of the two Hammersmith joints I have recently sampled.

The service was very commendable - my server was very careful to build the Kebab to my specifications and had a friendly manner. All in all if you are in the W6 area this is a fair option.

The Lebanese Taverna on Fulham Palace Road does a fairly standard Schwarma.
It is not quite as good as Al Dar or the Maroush/Ranoush Juice/Beirut Express mini chains but is along the same lines.
They do deliver to the surrounding areas though and therefore many times I have ordered from them as opposed to having a Pizza, Indian or Chinese sent.

The Lamb Shish, normally a favourite from other Kebab Places, has rather large cubes of lamb that are not particularly tender or juicy but are still fair quality being lean with no fat. I normally opt for the Mixed (Lamb & Chicken) Schwarma which is of a decent standard that is comparable to other Lebanese eateries.
The Chilli sauce is nothing special and as with a fair amount of Schwarma outlets there seems to be a "One size fits all" policy that means they tend to build all Scwarmas the same unless you make a point of being specific about sauces and so on. This means a Lamb Schwarma regularly gets Sesame sauce (which I don't like) and Garlic sauce and a Chicken version gets just the Garlic sauce.
A small amount of salad is also standard for both types. The Garlic sauce/mayo is rather good however and goes very well with their grilled chicken wings. Chips are a hit and miss affair - sometimes they are just right, other times under or over cooked. Consistency varies, sadly.

I now live in Chiswick so I seldom order from these guys anymore. I would still recommend Lebanese Taverna though, especially if you are sitting at home with a few mates watching a game on the box and fancy ordering in, they seem to have a large delivery radius too. I decided to take a chance on Kebab Machine on a cold and wet November evening after having skipped lunch and also having to wait around for a friend.

The Donner meat had that Grey coloured look but I probably did not have time to wait for a Shish to be grilled, so Donner it was. The meat was palatable but lacked taste.

The Chilli Sauce was a sweet tasting ketchup type one out of a squirty bottle but was not the worst I have had. The Garlic Sauce was quite nice and added to the chunky cut salad which was also fine. The Pita bread was OK.

The small Donner was fair value at under Â£4 for a generous amount of their bland meat but I did not finish it as my ride finally showed up and it was not good enough to warrant taking it home for later.

Pasha is a small Turkish restaurant with your standard take-away kebabs served at the front of the shop.

The first time I went here I was coming from a nearby pub and choose to eat in. The Lamb shish looked oddly red in colour but seemed fine to me in my overly refreshed state. The hot sauce was nice.

Today I had a Donner (partly because the Shish looked even redder almost Tandoori red) and it made me remember why I usually opt for shish these days.
The Lamb donner my server took from the Bain Marie was greasy, well seasoned and had that stronger 'Mutton' smell. There was nothing wrong with it, if you like that sort of thing, but I found it overpowering and hard to digest.

At Â£3 it was certainly cheap though. The Chilli sauce was decent but nothing special. The Pita and salad were also fine.

Service on both occasions was fast and friendly but each time there was only me and 1 or 2 other customers during my visit. It is quiet and nicely decorated making it pleasant & relaxing to eat in but perhaps the slow turnover means the overall quality, of the meat especially, is below its potential.

1st Class kebab house!

There are actually 2 Best Mangals - both on North End Road and I have been to both many times. It has a huge Ockabasi (SP?) a traditional Turkish BBQ/Charcoal grill and the meat comes out better than any other kebab I have tasted in the UK. A wonderful smokey flavour. Their Lamb Cop Sis (Chop Shish) is my favourite with smaller cubes, they also have regular shish, but I have tried nearly all the range at different times.

The Doner is more like a Lebanese schwarma, fresh cuts of meat on the upright grill as opposed to a minced meat mis-match and is truly superior to 95% of doner in London. Kofte is not a fave of mine but if you like a smokey and herby "sausage" of a kebab then you are in for a treat. The lamb chops and lamb spare ribs are excellent as well. Chicken shish is smokey and top notch. All in all for the meat my 10/10 score is no exaggeration - you will not find better, period.
Chilli sauce is good but not always consistent in heat. Sometimes it blows my head off and other times it is not hot enough yet I always have the same amount. Garlic sauce is just fine. The bread is unusual in that it is not Pitta but freshly baked "Village Bread" which is more akin to a huge chapati or tortilla and somewhat "floury". It is worth trying but I sometimes go elsewhere just because I miss a regular pitta kebab. They also do a thick "Nan" type bread but it does not fold enough to roll around the kebab. If they did pittas as well I would never go anywhere else. Prices are not cheap at Â£5.50 for my fave chop shish (Â£5 for Lamb donner) but portions are generous and quality is far above most Kebab places so it is not overpriced for take away. If you eat in or have a doner with rice prices are more.

I used to qork in the area a few years ago and went sometimes. Then it was a Thai place and, although nice, was a little dingey. It's recently been taken over by new owners and revamped and it is wonderful! Can't recommend the place more: friendly atmosphere without being too invasive, jukebox, live music, good beer! They don't serve food anymore but sometimes they let you bring stuff in from the place next door which does great meze! Simply brilliant!I used to qork in the area a few years ago and went sometimes. A friend took me to the Gate sometime ago, it was a birthday surprise. We found it hidden in the church yard, in an airy room that apparently used to be a gallery. After delicious rasperry bellinis we polished off a mezze for two, a portion of ravioli and roasted almond and cauliflower korma. It was a great feast accompanied by a bottle of a lovely organic beaujolais. I enjoyed the evening thoroughly, tasted amazing flavours of the Gate culinary inventions, and even got a the Gate cookbook on my way out. As a French, I am used to vietnamese restaurants. In my country though, we tend to wrongly qualify them as "Chinese" restaurants and they tend to be associated to small, dodgy though convenient restaurants where you may order a take-away but would never expect to discover a culinary jewel.

As a result, I was kind of reluctant when my better half suggested to go out for a Vietnamese restaurant that night. Sorry, but clichÃ©s are long-lasting. Anyway, the surprise was total from the moment we stepped in. The colonial decoration and the super-trained staff suddenly raised the bar. Obviously this place had nothing to do with what I knew about Vietnamese cuisine and kind of expected.

The ambiance is kind of romantic despite the proximity of the tables. The candlelight, the darkwood pannels... everything contributes to focus on your opposite number who happened to be as surprised as I was by the extensive menu in front of us. Starters, soups, traditional mains and specials, all witha great diversity and superb advice from the staff who help you make the right choice, depending on your tastes.

Reall enjoyed the food, and the portions were enough to stuff me. All was perfectly tasty, with this little twist that set the cuisine appart from the other South East Asian food.

The restaurant also offers a lounge downstairs which can be privatised, but the upstair dining area is a treat in itself.

Full score for Sagar! IÂ´ve been there a few times and itÂ´s my favourite. The food is just excellent, from samosas to curry to dosa to lassi. Also very good value, especially in this area. The best deal is their lunch offer: thali plates with a variety of small curry and chutney portions plus rice and a dosa for i guess it was 6 or 7 pounds.

For the price this is good value - however recent poor hygiene leaves a lot to be desired. Somethings are worth paying for. The management have refused to budge and have littered the gym with yellow dusters for members to clean the equipment - go figure!!! If you're a guy want to share your bodily fluids with other guys - dripping sweat over the equipment - this is the place for you - I'm going elsewhere.For the price this is good value - however recent poor hygiene leaves a lot to be desired. I love this place for meeting family and friends.

Lovely dining area for really good food prepared by some talented chefs.

A huge blackboard in the dining area is always full of delicious seasonal dishes.

The Anglesea has a great wine list and a fine selection of whiskys.

There is small seated area on the pavement to catch summer sun. In the winter a seat by the open fire is hard to beat!

Really friendly staff.

Can get full of some right knobs though.I love this place for meeting family and friends.
