My family and I have been shopping in H G Walter for around a decade now and have never been disappointed with the quality of service or food received from H G Walter. The staff are always welcoming, and are always able to assist me with cooking instructions and recipe ideas when planning a simple dinner or a large dinner party.

If visiting H G Walter a must to try is the Aberdeen Angus Scotch Beef, in particular a Sirloin Steak, which will quite simply melt in your mouth. Their sausages are utterly superb and the best I have tried in London. With such a wide selection of different types of sausages available, they are deffinately all worth a try to find your favourite ones! My favourites are the Pork, Tomato, Herb and Garlic!

I could go on and write about all their products, but I really think it would be best for you to visit yourself!

I congratulate the management team and staff, who have obviously worked hard to create this amazing shop, with clear family values and an amazing array of products, delivered with a first class service.

The Holland Court Hotel - Be wary of booking here by jfmrsh

We have booked here twice. The first occasion was satisfactory, average in all categories, for the price. The second was for our son's wedding nearby, in which we had a key organisational role. The booking for 3 nights was made 2 months in advance, and PREPAID. With 2 weeks to go an e-mail was received cancelling the booking, and returning payment on credit card. Likewise a booking for family friends made at same time as ours. Reason? -- urgent refurbishment. Phoned hotel, but couldn't get past reception, who were unhelpful, and their explanation unconvincing. Spent worrying few days trying to arrange alternative at short notice (LateRooms very helpful here). Have never encountered such disgraceful behaviour from a British hotel before, and advise anyone thinking of booking here to consider carefully. Once we finally found it (after discovering my knowledge of Olympia backstreets isn't what I thought it was) I felt that it would probably live up to my expectations (after two independent recommendations).

I wasn't disappointed. Food, service, atmosphere are all spot on, it costs between Â£4 and Â£6 per dish. We had 5 between the two of us which was plenty. The menu has a wide selection and I'm sure there is something for everyone.

Also worth mentioning, I'm not sure how accurate a gauge the bread is for the quality of the restaurant, but the bread was amazing.

I'm not really qualified to talk about interior design or such things never-the-less it's a really nice setting probably geared more towards a romantic meal or dinner with a small group of friends.

I have been to the Anglesea on a number of occasions and every time the food has been first class. Small Blackboard written menu that always has something for everyone, great wine and lovely ambience.

You can't book tables so it means you have to turn up early but then you can always have a drink at the bar.

If there is a fault it is that the tables are crammed in and it can get too busy but after a couple of drinks you don't realise.

Even the service which was notorious about 2/3 years ago is now very strong. Chunks of meal cooked over an open charcoal fire, soft yet flakey breads, and some really good chilli sause, the Best Mangal was worth the 20 minutes on the District Line to visit it. I had a bog standard shish, and it was tops.

Nice to be able to sit in too, rather than the standard collect and run kebab places. I have a certain fondness for pubs along the Thames, especially those with a beer garden - and the Crabtree has an absolute cracker. It's huge.

I've been here a few times and when the weather is right, I imagine it's pretty hard to beat - especially with a big group.

I understand on Sunday's they do roasts (winter) and bbq's (summer) - although I haven't tried either. Both occasions I have eaten there I have been somewhat disappointed, but I wasn't really going for the food.

A decent enough selection of tap beers, service was pretty/very slow last time I was there - granted it was quite busy.

It's a bit of a hike from the tube station.

Conclusion: All in all a great place to spend an afternoon in the sun* with a frosty cold beer or three.

This place right now is the best place in Shepherds Bush where you can go and have a good pint of real ale with about 5 guest ales available at all times plus the good old regular like abbot, directors, pedigree and courage best! The staff is friendly, and the food is not bad at all with brilliant steaks! Go on Tuesday from 3 till 10 and get any steak and a pint for only Â£6.09! Ok, so it's close to where I work, but if you're looking for a good value Japanese with a decent selection of sashimi and a really rather wonderful pork belly dish in the Hammersmith area, then go and try. The space is looking really dated these days but the Riverside Cafe Bar is still serving up some good grub - come here before the double bill at the cinema for good burgers, salads, and resonably priced cocktails and try to get a seat outside overlooking the Thames!

Top tip: the Sunday brunch is especially good - lots of options from a posh fry-up to lovely porridge. Yum! I went here late on a Sunday night with my flatmate, so it was pretty quiet.

It had a nice relaxed atmosphere and our waiter was extremely helpful and friendly. The food was excellent - especially the recommendations that our waiter had made.

Sweet and Sour Chix on a small paper plate with som rice and a drink at Â£5.20!!!
Battery chicken chunks, pineapple chunks (more on the plate than chicken) and a sauce that has to come from a bottle.
Really really bad!
As for the smile from the counter assistant... still waiting for it.So bad... not a redeeming feature.

I've been to the Gate about twice a year for the last 5 years with my veggie husband and the food is almost always great.

Unfortunately the rest of the world seems to know this too, and it tends to get very busy, especially at the weekends. As it's a small noisy room, I'd not recommend it for an intimate first date, unless you go on a Monday or a Tuesday night!

The food is very eclectic with influences from all over the globe, especially Asia and the Middle East. Omnivores will be so overwhelmed by the interesting choices that they'll barely notice the lack of meat on the menu. Expect to spend around Â£80/couple for three courses with wine.

I was disappointed. Nice waitresses but zero attention to detail, having ordered a very nice bottle of bubbles we had to request an ice cooler. Food was ok but not fantastic. A very good value gym, now in new premises. Good free weights, machines and cardio equipment. Bright, natural light and free classes (step, Yoga etc.)

As a regular business traveller to the UK and Europe, I sometimes look for comfort food locations to sooth my absence from home. I tried the Pizza Express at Olympia Exhibition Centre in London and I found their pizza quite delicious. I ordered it as take away with no problems at all. I wnet back the next day to do a take away (I was rushing to make a telephone meeting at the time) but I was met with rude and obstinate wait staff and kitchen staff who refused to give my order as take away because someone else had complained about that particular pizza as a takeaway item!

It would not have been such an overwhelmingly negative experience for me except that the waiter started shouting at me and telling me that I would get nowhere if I argued with him! The restaurant manager on duty could do nothing for me and, with only one other customer in the restaurant, I was shocked that there was zero interest in taking my money in exchange for food - something other restaurants in the world do willingly.

In any case, my complaints to the pizza chain have gone unaddressed. this is possibly the worst pub meal i have had. the bar itself is very cosy and nice. however, the staff act as if you are disturbing them by wanting a drink (not that they even knew how to make a Bloody Mary), they then served my pie with none of the veggies or anything, i then complained and was bought out a bowl of very unappetising mashed potato (still no beans etc). my friend was over charged (refunded), but her 'green salad' consisted or a couple of lettuce leaves, one tomato, and one gerkin.

Dont go here if you want a nice pub meal. The pub I can take or leave, but the thai restaurant was a God send when I work down the road. A mixed, spicy #19 and a pint of London Pride made Friday afternoons go so much easier.

I wish I knew what the hell I was eating was named (it was fried noodles) because I haven't found similar anywhere yet... and I wish I could.
