My foodie mates adore this place and go into orgasmic paroxysms when they talk about(at length). I get the wooden masks, seats and the whole ethnic vibe. I like the idea of escaping from Kentish Town into a romantic noshery. It either works for you or it doesn't - perhaps I'm just not foodie enough(sniff). On the plus side the food was good - spicy meat dishes that you sop up with homemade bread. It's only taken me a year but I have finally come round to the The Pineapple refurb, in a 'I've started ignoring my fancy new shoes ripping apart my comfortable old bunions' sort of a way. I loved this pub, loved it just exactly as it was, and then they went and slapped fancy swirly gold wallpaper all over it and started serving some fairly average Thai food. Still, the same old locals still prop up the same old bar (and thank god they kept the bar), the fires continue to roar away happily as people cram themselves onto the tables and so it remains a friendly happy little place to be on a Friday night (if you're not in the conservatory, that is, and if you avoid looking at the wallpaper), which at least goes to prove that it's people that make a place. Good place for a cup of Coffee and a chat. There are quiet, woody nooks in the back where you can escape the hubub of the main drag. The food on the main menu is a bit pricey - snacks and soups less so. For me, this a cake and coffee joint only. The pavement front is often full of smokers and puffers - giving the place a Continental air of liveliness. There's usually somewhere quieter inside.Good place for a cup of Coffee and a chat. This cube shaped Natural food shop on Kentish Town Road is a breakaway from the 4 shop Bumblebee Store on Brecknock Road. For some reason the superb Bumblebee isn't listed on this database. Whatta shame - Bumblebee is less flashy than Fresh'n'Wild - really good prices and great products. Was one of the first and best Wholefood, Natural Healthfood shops in London and is still easily one of the best. Earth has some of the old staff from Bumblebee. The layout is choppy for starters they have all the vegetables in the window - bad idea - they wilt and go off quickly. I found it a tad ramshackle and misleading. Probably because it was hard to get help - find bags etc. I've been in loads of times and some of the staff have a decidedly w-e-i-r-d attitude - they think they're on stage or worse still - waiting to be discovered by some celeb that walks in. Makes you feel a bit strange. On the whole it's a little pricey - you can get the same goods up the road at Bumblebee's without any of the attitude and a bit cheaper with more bargain boxes to boot. Mario's is a classy cafe, the classiest in Camden. It's clean, light with a fresh design and is as welcoming and bright as the folk who work there. The tables are small yet you don't feel cramped or put out. The coffee is good, the food Italian and the service fast and friendly. The food isn't cheap, cheap it's reasonably priced good solid fare. What makes this place is the buzz, its human and warm - a total contrast to the down-at-heel, grimy vibe of the traffic alley known as Kentish Town. I met my other half here, so The Junction Tavern's got a gold star for that alone. Nauseating anecdotes aside, however, this place is a corker.

I've never eaten in the restaurant bit but I've sunk many an Addlestone's and eaten many a perfectly-cooked piece of meat in the back half of the bar, the conservatory and the garden (where I once nearly got killed by a full can of coke flying over the wall from the hand of a rogue child). The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful and the food is divine - even when I don't think I can fit in another mouthful, I'll always find room for the crumble. Meals are not easy on the pocket, admittedly, but you certainly get what you pay for and the food is fresh, seasonal and beautifully thought out and executed.

I've never had anything faintly resembling a bad time here. It's a first rate choice for a quiet pint, a sociable Saturday night out or a leisurely Sunday dinner. This place used to be a favourite of mine for its great roast dinners (which continue, albeit somewhat blandly in my opinion), although I have to admit to finding Square Pies a bit uninspiring. It's a nice spot for a pint on a quiet sunny afternoon.

Food and quiet sunshiney pints aside, however, it's become a bit of a pain trying to come here for a drink on the weekend. It's definitely one of the better pubs in Camden, and most of the real idiots are trying to get into the Hawley Arms down the road: but even if the unnecessarily unpleasant bouncers let you in after you've stood out in the cold for half an hour you'll only be surrounded by kids in skinny jeans and bad hair (the ones that aren't working behind the bar) and half the MTV workforce. Crumbs, I must be getting old.

Playing nicely: the beer garden's lively and relaxed, if you can find yourself some space, and the veranda upstairs isn't half bad if you can make your way onto a table. I've been to The Vine a few times and if you're after a nice warm spot by the fire to read the Sunday papers, you can't go wrong. The music isn't bad, and the staff are friendly too, offering us a couple of different ales to sample before we ordered a pint of one of them.

But having a wee tipple is really all the place is now good for: the food is just awful. I like my lamb to be considerably less than bone dry when it's roasted, and a burger is JUST NOT MEANT TO BE SERVED IN FANCY ITALIAN BREAD, especially if it's going to cost you 11 quid (I really don't know why I bothered going back to try a second dish).

This is absolutely one of my favourite pubs in North London. It's loud, a little grimey and the food isn't great, but this doesn't compromise The Enterprise for me! The music is always great, and the gig venue upstairs is nice and intimate showcasing the best up and coming talent. It's a cosy place to be on a winter evening and a lively place to stand outside on a summer's day. The Lord Stanley is a saving grace in the area of Kentish Town/Holloway, which is desolation row when it comes to foodies !

The decor is 'lived in', with leather sofas scattered round one side of the bar. There is a pleasant little garden out the back, which provides a lovely oasis in the summer. The clientele are as laid back as the decor, and all in all it as a very relaxing atmosphere.

The food is where it comes into its own. It is cooked in front of you and the menu (on a large blackboard) is large and varied. Sunday roasts are a speciality.

Like the other reviews, if there is one niggle it would be the service. It can take an aged to get your food.

The Barfly London is split into two venues during the week, the pub part downstairs and a music venue upstairs, so if you turn up on a weekday you can have a drink without paying to see the bands. On Friday and Saturdays however, it becomes one big venue with a cover charge for the whole place, so don't get caught out if you're just looking for a place to meet friends then move on.
The downstairs bar is basically a huge old pub with all the tables taken out, but other than the rather fancy branded windows it's worn and tatty, with scuffed black walls and posters for obscure bands blue tacked on every surface. It's got a lot of charm though and Matt and Greg, the managers are the type of publicans that make you want to come back time and again. The barstaff are friendly too, possibly due to aforementioned management and there's usually a healthy crowd of interesting looking alternative types hanging around. The upstairs room is less appealing, it's basically a large box of a room with nowhere to sit and nothing to look at, good if you're watching a band, but if you're looking for anything other than that, stay downstairs.

My favourite food to takeaway is chicken so I often stop off in Dixie Chicken to get some chicken burgers, usually with chips. The food is normally very hot and fresh. My husband & I both love eating here as the food is delicious and filling. It makes a great main meal or if youâ¬"re really hungry a nice snack. Admitingly this place is bad for vegetarians but other than that I think that most people would love it. Itâ¬"s always clean and the staff are normally polite. This is a great place to grab some chicken on the go and there arenâ¬"t normally very long queues which is a great bonus.

Iâ¬"ve never been to a carribean restaurant before so this was an eye opener for me! My friends have all been here and have raved about it, so I took the plunge and Iâ¬"m so glad I did! Cottons if a fantastically lively and friendly place to go, both as a group and as a couple. The staff are so friendly, Iâ¬"ve never seen one person smile so much! The waiter had a fabulous sense of humour! The food was brilliant, Iâ¬"d recommend it all! But maybe it was because of the amazing cocktails we had - I would definitely recommend these! If you love good beers and enjoy noisy fun places than Belgo is the place for you. The mussels are fantastic and if you like fruity tasting beers than the Floris Mango never disappoints. They have a very good deal, Beat The Clock means you'll pay for your food the time shown on the receipt when you order(between 5.30 and 7). Great cosy local pub with a fab quiz on a Tuesday night. Food is the usual fare at average London prices. I went here last night and it was fantastic. Great atmosphere - huge portions and very friendly staff. The drinks are pretty cheap too. The food tastes great and their Tandoori Chicken Tikka Massala is the best I have ever tried.

Being an express store this is very small selling only the most expensive items. saying that, this is a very handy store for picking up a magazine of newspaper. I have never had a problem with queues as there are a few express stores in the road including a supermarket next door, but i do sometimes have trouble looking for particular items. They stock bread but this usually sells out and a large veg section. The next best thing is Tesco online. Staff are always very quiet, cant remember ever being spoken to but they are never rude. Most instrument shops are a bit dull if you're not a musician, I'm sure. Once you've seen your 30th guitar your brain probably starts to grey out, let alone the annoying staff showing off how well they play.

Well, I challenge you to be bored in Ray Mans!

Formerly located in Parkway, now nearer to Chalk Farm, this long running family business is a treat to visit.

They sell a wide variety of instruments from four corners of the globe, with a main emphasis on Chinese and east asian traditional instruments.

Things range in price from the Â£1 or Â£2 pound bamboo flutes and jaw harps, to the Â£2000 odd sitars and wonderful hammered dulcimers in the back room.

They excel in percussion too, with many different types of shakers, rattles, small drums and finger cymbals too. The staff are very welcoming and they don't seem to mind if you have a little twang or rattle here or there.

Somebody buy me a gift voucher!Most instrument shops are a bit dull if you're not a musician, I'm sure. Once you've seen your 30th guitar your brain probably starts to grey out, let alone the annoying staff showing off how well they play.

Well, I challenge you to be bored in Ray Mans!

Formerly located in Parkway, now nearer to Chalk Farm, this long running family business is a treat to visit.

They sell a wide variety of instruments from four corners of the globe, with a main emphasis on Chinese and east asian traditional instruments.

Things range in price from the Â£1 or Â£2 pound bamboo flutes and jaw harps, to the Â£2000 odd sitars and wonderful hammered dulcimers in the back room.

They excel in percussion too, with many different types of shakers, rattles, small drums and finger cymbals too. The staff are very welcoming and they don't seem to mind if you have a little twang or rattle here or there.

Feng sushi is primarily a takeaway sushi restaurant. But it has adequade facilities for dining in. The sushi itself is really great. And i mean that, it is truely excellent sushi. When you compare it with something like yo sushi you can really see the differnce, the fish in feng sushi is fresh and flavoursome the salmon nagiri in particular is to die for! For any sushi lover i cannot reccoment feng sushi enough. Their delivery time is around 30 to 40 minutes which is understandable given they prepare it from fresh, and it is reasonably priced to boot.
