This is terrible pub. It is located in a highly residential area, which is not good at all. It is dirty and needs a real good clean out you won't know what you're gulping down. This is the worst pub i've ever visited. The people it attracts always seem to have a real attitude or a chip on their shoulder. People who go there would not enjoy at all. It's cheap and nasty!!!! The presence of this pub gives both the african and the caribbean pubs a really bad name. The standard is non-existent. I'm glad i visited that pub because now i know i'll never visit this place again and would regret the day i should ever have to go there again. Guys out there, i don't think you'll enjoy this pub, if you like that sort of atmosphere then good for you. But i'll never advise someone to go there unless i really really hate that person, and even then, that would be very harsh thing to do. This is terrible pub. This is a great place near E & C tube and War Museum. With a bar it has a cheapo lunch menu starting at Â£4.95 and served until 5pm every day. My favourite is the prawn Penang which is quite delicious and aromatic. There are also masses of Thai snacks. On the main menu my favourite dish is beef Massaman, which looks rather uninspiring but is in fact delicious, and plentiful - soft tender beef chunks served in an aromatic gravy with potatoes and best eaten with coconut rice.

The puds are simple but delicious. Banana cake is home made and there is often fresh mango.
There is a good wine list including two very good dessert wines. This is a great place near E & C tube and War Museum. I'm not sure who I am writing this review for ... if you live around here, you probably know about La Luna already (what am I saying? you probably have a favourite table), and if you don't ... well, what review would be strong enough to get you down the Walworth Road? (I like it round here, but I know it has an image problem.)

I've only been here during the daytime, in part because the area (and in particular the tunnels around the roundabouts) isn't so inviting during at night, and in part because the dim sum is what draws me here.

The restaurant itself is easy to miss, as there's nothing that screams 'chinese restaurant' until you get to the two big red doors (which are always closed). The decor is simple inside, with large windows letting in a lovely view of the Walworth Road.

Pluses
+ the dishes are cheap: we once ordered so much that we couldn't see over the steamers
+ good selection of dishes, with some more fusion-inspired specials (these don't always work)
+ you can book a table, which is rare for good yum cha
+ the restaurant is large enough for a table of ~15

Minuses
- service isn't particularly friendly
- no trolley service (although this is the norm for london)

Best Pie & Mash EVER!!!! Have been going to Arments since I was about 5, great to eat in or take away. Very useful budget eat. The juices *are* fantastic. However if you are less in search of quantity, try the Thai food in the Elephant and Castle pub across the Old Kent Road.Very useful budget eat. This is a brand spanking new dance studio facility in Elephant & Castle. Funded by the Lottery, Arts Council, local government regeneration bodies and more, its a state of the art centre thats been designed with dance-stlye movement in mind. My capoeira group (KABULA) are now using the space for classes every Weds from 8-9.30pm. Its an incredible space, with a huge rooftop studio that is light and airy and gives you the impression of being on top of the city.
