You probably have to have at least a mild liking for Royalty given that I have never seen so many commemorative plates marking Royal events from throughout the years - they are even on the ceiling. Quite amusing and a talking piece if you run out of conversation. They also serve Thai food if you get a bit peckish.

If you go along on an evening when the Handlebar Club is in residence you get to see a whole range of weird and wonderful moustaches. When I was there recently we even got free moustaches to wear, which all added to the fun atmosphere. Never before have I been to a pub where a total stranger came up to me and shook my hand as I left to thank me for being there. Not your typical pub! This is a nice but very busy London pub.
The Cellars Bar - Brilliant fish and chips...! by Weeboo

This is based on the fish and chips alone, which comes served in "newspaper" and is spot on. Unfortunately, the service seriously lets it down. Its slow, slow, SLOW.. Considering a lot of its lunchtime business comes from nearby offices (the likes of Woolworths, Bacardi etc) they really should look at pulling up their socks in this regard. A lot of people I work with would like to go there for lunch, but end up opting for another venue because they know they'll end up rushing their meal and drinks when everything arrives 40 minutes after it was ordered. I would only recommend The Cellars if you've got time to kill and nowhere better to go.I really want to give The Cellars Bar at the Landmark Hotel a 4 star rating.
The Chapel - Disappointing, but we'll give it a second chance by Browners

This is bolstered by some more unusual offerings such as grilled ostrich with a mango, ginger and chili dressing. The most startling side of the menu however, is the lack of both burgers and chips... a very good thing indeed! Even though I did have an insatiable desire to wolf down a cheese burger and chips on a slow Friday afternoon!

Oi and I had the grilled ostrich which was beautifully rare. Unfortunately, the meat was tough and fibrous. Not the tender piece of meat we were expecting. It was chewy and disappointing as a piece of meat. A real shame because the rest of the dish was fabulous. We probably should have played safe with the rib eye!

I watched the two, young and energetic chefs at work. The quality of their presentation and flavour combinations were very impressive. I suspect that they were just let down by the quality of their meat. We'll give them a second chance at some point soon to try the rest of their menu out. But another blunder and we won't return. There are loads of other places in the area to go to instead.Just a quick review of The Chapel pub near Edgeware Road Tube Station...

It's a well run pub with an exciting food menu featuring some modern pub classics like rib eye steak, fish cakes and grilled chicken. I usually go there for tea/coffee when I have meetings in the City. The location is very convenient (in Bank, so close to everything else in the City) and there are quite a lot of tables.

I like sitting there and having a nice latte when preparing a meeting with colleagues or meeting a friend for a quick chat.

They serve food as well, and it's actually quite good. More a business lunch style though.

You also have an exclusive selection of shops (Chanel, Bulgari, Prada, etc)...so you might get tempted after those 3 glasses of champagne...I love the atmosphere of the Royal Exchange Courtyard.
