'Mr Wing' is the ONLY Chinese restaurant worth visiting in Earl's Court.

The food is on a par with 'The Good Earth' & 'Royal China' restaurants with a character all of its own.

It is fairly expensive and you are paying for the atmosphere and decorations such as the waterfall but for a treat it is worth.
You could always take-away your favourite dishes as, trust me, they will be easily better than their local competitors.
They also deliver via 'Room Service' for an addtional fee.

I went here after being informed 'No. 10' was a decent Chinese restaurant of the few scattered around Earl's Court.

I found it disappointing as it was closer to the inferior quality places in Chinatown for food.
The Char Siu was fatty and had an unpleasant aftertaste (not MSG!) and the rice & noodles were merely adequete.

The atmosphere inside is very nice and relxed and service is commendable. I really wish the food was up to standard as I liked everything else.

I was hoping my first visit was a bad day but a subsequent take-away of different dishes was just as lacklustre.

The prices are more expensive then most of the chinese cheapies in Earl's Court and the place itself is pleasant but the food is sadly the same.

The hotel is in a very beutiful area, within easy reach of 2 metro stations, the Earl's Court and the Gloucester Road. It's managed by affable and helpful people, The rooms are not so big but very comfortable and have all you need, even the phon and the iron with its ironing board! The cost for a day is not very expensive comparative to other hotels (also in worse areas),

Quite simply the most rediculous place i've ever been. All due to the owner who reminds me of Hitler. Do not line the pockets of a guy who treats his staff like dirt because as a result you'll have the worst service ever, s*** food and possibly the worst experience ever. This place should be closed down purely for humanity sake but secondly as a total rip off. If you go expect to be treated like cattle, kicked, punched and possibly end up in hospital.Quite simply the most rediculous place i've ever been. All due to the owner who reminds me of Hitler. There are so few places in London with this kind of genuine atmosphere. The place is literally brimming with character. Just sit back with one of their delicious cocktails and lap it all up. The menu has plenty of familiar staples like burgers and fish cakes but it all seems good quality and our dinner was pretty good. Yes it's busy and crowded but it's fun and that's what it's all about here. There's a great little music venue downstairs too where you can catch unsigned bands. aaahhh, La Pappardella....

There's nothing I can say that can give their food justice...

I've known La Pappardella for years, though I haven't been there for a while, until recently, where my husband and I decided to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary.

So we went there full of hopes for a delicious, romatic evening. And such evening we've had.

We were greeted by two of their staff and even though we have booked a table, they gave us a free choice to sit wherever we wanted. The restaurant is small but they do have some sitting downstairsin and in the back garden in the summer.

We've ordered a nice bottle of white wine. The choice on the menu is endless. Anything from pasta through risotto to pizzas and salads. We started off with grilled prawns and carpaccio. Now, I'm not a big fan of sea food, but I scoffed up almost all of my husband's starter. Carpaccio: tender and full of flavour.

For main, my hubby chose risotto. That was the biggest plate i have seen while eating out. It was rich and creamy with fresh chicken and tender veg.

I went for a lobster spaghetti. A bit extravagant, but it was a special occasion and I just wanted to compare London's lobster to the one we had in St Kitts. Well, I was not dissapointed. A huge plate of pasta (though it was slightly over-cooked and i like mine a bit tenter) in a rich, fresh tomato and a hint of a chilli sauce and there, on top, lay the lobster in its full glory: cut in quarters. It was delicious and... messy.... I never had to "play with tools" like this before, as previously I had my lobster shelled. But it was so much fun to get dirty.

Ice-cream based desserts were the perfect finish to a lovely meal. At the ned, we received complimentary shots of lemon flavoured liquor.

3 course meal for 2 with bottle of wine and service we have paid £75 which is an absolute bargain for the quality of food and service you'll receive in return.

I love that little place and we just keep coming back for more.

I've been wanting to go to Cambio de Tercio for a while now... but everytime I've tried, the place was full to the brim and I never seemed to have a reservation when I'd stumble upon its doorstep. Fortunately, once again without pre-planning, I found myself at their restaurant, eyes hopeful, and they had one table left in the back of the restaurant.

The staff are warm, Spanish (or at least, Spanish speaking... I was certain some hailed from South America), and eager to please. The ambience is lovely... it's quite narrow with as many tables packed in as it can hold, yet I somehow still found the setting intimate enough to have a relaxed conversation and forget about all the other people.

The wine menu has over 100 Spanish wines - slightly intimidating, but we simply asked for a recommendation and they helped us to navigate through it. For dinner, my friend had the oxtail and I chose the monkfish. We ordered sides of asparagus and padron peppers. The presentation was very nice on both dishes. The flavors of my monkfish were good, but more subtle than I would have preferred them to be (Yet I do think that some Spanish dishes are intentionally quite subtle, so it's hard to fault the dish).

Beyond mains, they had an extensive list of tapas as well which we ignored this time around. It was all in all a nice evening. I went the Drayton Arms for Sunday lunch today. I must say I was dreading it at first, as the reviews Iâ¬"d seen didn't say many nice things about it. I was surprised by how lovely it looked from the outside. This might have more to do with the location that any real effort the owners have made. The inside was dark and a little worn out. And what's with the mish-mash chairs? The open fire is a big plus but why is it by the loos? The service was slow, glasses dirty. The food taster great, better if I got more gravy though. Go if you are:

- In the area
- 20 something bloke looking to meet the local posh girls
- Looking for a pub a little out the way that you can eat and read the Sunday papers at without the crowds.

This is an excellent tapas bar that stays pretty busy on all evenings. The owners of this restaurant also own the Spanish restaurant across the street, Cambio de Tercio.

It is actually quite fun to sit at the bar, which I opted for on my second visit there when I had not booked in advance... The service is professional and knowledgeable about the food on offer.

The food is delicious! Typical dishes like Spanish cheeses with quince, patatas bravas, Serrano ham and bechamel croquettes, and Spanish omelette are all lovely. And then there are some stand-out dishes I had never had before like: Fillet of pork with fresh figs and a light blue cheese sauce (the bartender, who served as our waiter recommended this one when we asked for his personal favorite) - absolutely wonderful! The almond tarte for dessert was also a wonderful finish.

As Greek As It Gets never gets too busy. In fact, anytime I go (typically weeknights), I have to preface entering the door with "trust me, the food is good, it's just never that busy."

Earls Court is a bit tricky - there are some great great restauarants that require a decent walk from the station. This restaurant, however, is a convenient 3 minutes from the station - so if you are meeting up in Earls Court for an event or to catch a band, it is a good choice.

The restaurant is actually 2 stories - this is part of the reason that it doesn't feel too busy - there might be 5 full tables up and 5 full tables down.. On this last visit, I sat upstairs, along the cute little tablesapce that overlooks a pretty chandelier and the downstairs.. The decor of the place is fresh and eccentric - greens on the wall and wood floors make it feel fresh and clean.. while wooden spoons speckled all over the staircase make it a little quirky.

The service has always been great! Waiters are very attentive and also accomodating should you have special requests (I asked for saganaki without sesame seeds and they were fine to accomodate).

Prices depend on what you order. Souvlaki, for instance is 3-4pounds... but true mains can set you back 14 pounds. I have always shared the mezes with friends rather than ordering mains.. but this too can add up. The food is pretty good, but the showstopping standout is the Baklava - it is the best I have ever tasted - even trumps various types I have had in Greece and Turkey!! It is huge as well so you can probably share with a friend (Though I was perfectly content eating one all on my own).

Meze are pretty tasty. Saganaki (without sesame) is good.. as are all of their dips, the Greek salad, the meatballs, the shrimp/chorizo/halloumi skewers...

If you order wine (1 carafe, for two people) and have mezes and dessert - expect to spend around 20-25 pounds each... a little steep, but you are in London...
