Not relishing the thought of what would be long standing Donner taken from the Bain Marie I decided on the Shish.

I could see the server through a doorway at the back of the shop reading a book and after a few minutes of waiting while scanning the menu and meal combo offers I called her over. I ordered a Lamb Shish and having noticed that Nan bread is favoured by the outlet I enquired if Pita was an option instead. She went back through the doorway and emerged a few moments later with a bag of Pita Bread and the Lamb cubes. Once cooked the kebab arrived on a plate with the salad stuffed in the bottom with the meat on top, which is unusual compared to the many Kebab Houses I have previously visited. The Kebab meat turned out to be Tikka/Tandoori marinated and cut into very large cubes. It was heavily spiced and surprisingly tender but not very succulent. I like Indian food but prefer my kebabs Turkish style so the meat score was downgraded.

The Salad was average for the most part save for a tasty pickled Chilli pepper and some over-vinegary cabbage which tainted the other components. The Pita bread was stodgy and grilled either too lightly or not at all. The slight warmth could have been from the contact of the meat. I sat facing the window at one of the two tables inside the small outlet so did not observe the cooking process.
The Chilli Sauce was quite interesting. It was obviously a homemade one served slightly chilled from a large silver bowl made with a lot of oil. The heat level was decent and the flavour seemed quite unique to my taste buds. It was savoury and thankfully not sweet but probably not something I would ever grow to crave, unlike the Hot Sauce from the nearby Brothers Kebabs which is EXCELLENT.
The Garlic Sauce was fine if a little tame by comparison to the unusually spiced Chilli one. The Chips were OK but a tad "crumbly" in texture for some reason (?).

Service was friendly but a little inexperienced, perhaps? Value wise the small Lamb Shish, Chips & a can of Fanta cost £4.99. Express Kebabs reminds me of 'Laroash Kebabs' (next to Ealing Broadway station) in some aspects. There is a similar Indo-Asian influence what with the Nan Bread & Tandoori spicing but Express does not have Laroash's location and hence fast turnover from frequent custom so a quick & fresh Donner seems unlikely at most times. The Chilli Sauce is better here though!

Express Kebabs would no doubt be better if it had more customers  but it would need to be better to attract said customers in the first placeÂ&THIS PLACE HAS NOW CLOSED DOWN!

I found myself in this establishment on a cold and windy January Sunday afternoon solely because my original lunch destination of the 'Brothers Kebabs' was closed! Express Kebabs was empty on this occasion (as is usually the case when I walk past to the Bros!) and as I walked in I immediately noticed the Lamb & Chicken Donner spits were both turned off with the meats uncooked.

Review by AliZebu

Rating: 3.00
Phone: 020 8810 7913

Tags: kebabs
I travelled to Ealing Broadway station specifically to find out the truth about Laroash Kebabs after reading many conflicting opinions on the internet.

FIRST VISIT: The shop itself has a somewhat grotty appearance. I am not implying they are lax with their food hygiene standards - it is just tatty. The store has an Indian sub-continent influence with a mini-tandoor next to the grill and Curries also available.

The server greeted me in a friendly manner and I opted for a small Mixed Donner with everything in a fresh Nan. They also serve the more usual Pita bread. The meats were sliced from the spit with a rotary cutter!

The Lamb Donner minced-meat mix was juicy but well cooked and of a uniform medium thickness.
The Chicken Donner/Schwarma cuts were crispy and well marinated. The Salad was very basic just undressed lettuce, onions & tomatoes.

The fresh Nan was very nice if a little more filling than pita or wraps and did not harden on the journey home.

Sauce wise the server put THREE sauces on the kebab. They blended together in the Nan Kebab but I detected a slight sweetness from one of the sauces. I do not like sweet tastes in my kebabs but it was not overpowering enough to ruin the kebab.

The small Mixed Donner was £5 in the Nan, and I believe a quid less if in a Pita. I noticed they do a £1.20 mini lamb doner for lunchtime.

SECOND VISIT: I returned 2 days later to try something else on the menu. The same server greeted me as I looked at the Skewered kebabs. There was Kofte and Lamb & Chicken Tikka cubes. I chose a small Chicken Tikka in Pita for £4 The Chicken Skewer was not sliced into during cooking but came out a little dry. The meat marinade (Tikka) was nice and spicy but I still prefer a regular Chicken Shish.

This time I asked about the sauces. The buttery looking thick sauce (I thought it was Salad Cream) next to the Salad is the Garlic Mayonnaise and the herby white sauce next to the Chilli is a mint sauce.
I just had LOTS of the Chilli Sauce with salad this time and was disappointed to find out it was rather sweet despite looking like a nice fresh one in the silver bowl.

Service wise Laroash were very good on both occasions, to me personally, and with the other customers who were obviously regulars.

I would probably not purposely visit Laroash again as I am quite particular about Chilli Sauce and there are top places like Ealing Mangal & West Kebab of Pitshanger Lane (they do a GREAT Chilli Sauce!) fairly close by who are more suited to my tastes.

Laroash Kebab is better than I had been led to believe but is not really a contender for entry into London's best Kebab Houses.I travelled to Ealing Broadway station specifically to find out the truth about Laroash Kebabs after reading many conflicting opinions on the internet.

FIRST VISIT: The shop itself has a somewhat grotty appearance. There is an unusual Persian cusine influence that gives it a somewhat unique "twist" on the old favourites.

I opted to have the Lamb Shish as the Donner roll was just been changed. The meat was GOOD, tasty with that slightly smokey flavour yet still tender. The Salad was dressed well and had a nice colourful variety to it. Some might find the red Cabbage a little too vinegary though. The Chilli Sauce was nice, if a little unusual somehow, perhaps spiced Persian style...? It was served fresh from a silver bowl that was placed just above the clear glass chilled cabinet with the Meats and salad so was room temprature - which is preferable to a cold Chilli Sauce! The Garlic sauce was not to my liking with sour vinegary overtones. The Bread was a freshly made flat bread that was more akin to Tandoori Roti than Pita, Village or Nan breads. Sometimes this kind of bread can go hard quickly but it was warm and soft as I ate inside the restaurant on this occasion.
The server was helpful, attentive and friendly and only lost points because he recommended a £5.99 meal como with Fries & a drink which actually cost me more as I only had a small shish instead of the (Large?) Donner in the picture.

Ealing has a great deal of Kebab Shops and the high quality and Persian variation mean 'Ealing Kebab' can be included in a small list of truly great Kebabaries that serve the West London area. Firstly the service is spot on. The staff seem very alert and serve swiftly in a friendly manner.

Secondly, the chilli sauce is great and just as I like it. Hot, thick and tasty with a nice vegetable undertone, perhaps carrots (?) - Either way an excellent recipe.

Meat quality is fine but not on the same level as some of the gourmet places in London like Best Mangal & Dionysus. Also, slicing into it during cooking loses both juicy flavours and tenderness. Pita & salad are both fresh.

Value wise they can't be faulted - a small special (Lamb Shish, Chicken & Kofte was under £4 and a Styrofoam cup of their Hot Sauce added 50p to the total. "Enjoy your Chilli Sauce" the server said to me with a friendly grin as I left thee establishment on my second visit. I certainly did.

RECOMMENDED!Northfields 'West Kebab' is a solid kebab shop.
Fish & Chips are also available as well as pies, burgers, and the like.

Two things really stood out about this place. The cubed lamb was well cooked but not particularly tender or flavoursome.
The Chilli sauce was a good one - thick, medium spiced (heat) and served warm as kept in a bain marie. Pitta bread was well toasted and the salad was excellent and stood out for some reason - crispy freshness and nice dressing.

I cannot say this is the best London Kebab house I have thus far been to but West Kebab in Pitshanger Lane ticks all the right boxes and is certainly above average. I can see why it is highly rated by locals.

RECOMMENDED!This is a small kebab outlet with a few seats and tables inside.

It is a little out of my area so I opted to eat in at no extra cost. It helps that they do not slice them open while cooking, unlike some other Kebabaries, but the meat is just obviously of better quality to begin with. It was well trimmed with no fatty bits.

I have had the Doner as well and it is pretty good as well though not outstanding. The Pita bread and salad were both very good and maintained the Brother's high standards.
The Chilli sauce was another standout - fresh, really thick and tasty! It had a lovely flavour and is overall one of the best I have ever tasted but it being more medium than hot in heat levels means that for my own personal preferences it gets a 9 instead of 10.

The service was friendly and attentive.

Review by WestLondoner

Rating: 1.00
Phone: 020 8566 2223
Iâ¬"d like to preface my remarks about the appalling way I was treated by the staff at this practise with a quote from the Hippocratic oath, the code of honour in which doctors swear to â¬Ünever do harm to anyoneâ¬". I believe chiropractors are not required to swear by this oath, but does this mean they are beyond the law?

I visited this practise on Monday 5th Oct 2009 with back pain. I have a slight weakness in my back which occasionally requires treatment. Having had chiropractic treatments before, I knew exactly what the routine should be. I even pointed to the exact point of weakness in my back, so the therapist I saw knew which area to treat. However, after manipulating my back, she told me to lie on my side, and performed a â¬Ülumbar pressâ¬" on both my hips. She told me I have one leg longer than the other, and this process would balance my pelvis.

The next day I was in pain in my right hip. I thought it was simply a reaction to the pressure used, so decided to give it another day. However, the following day it was not only worse, but my pelvis had clearly subluxed because of her treatment. I phoned and spoke to the therapist, telling her about the instability, and asked her why sheâ¬"d performed the lumbar press in the first place, when there was nothing wrong. She became defensive and told me that Iâ¬"d agreed to her performing it. I denied this, saying I simply wanted my back done. She then told me that it would get better in a few days. I waited a few more days. The pain and discomfort got worse.

If you take your car to a garage to have itâ¬"s brakes fixed, pay the staff for fixing the brakes, then realise the suspension has been broken by the staff who fixed your brakes, it is appropriate that the garage fix the problem they have caused with no charge ⬠and an apology. It seems that Carragh, the practise manager of this clinic believes otherwise. I felt it appropriate that she, having more experience than her other staff, put right what one of her much more inexperienced staff members had put wrong. She made it clear that I would have to pay, so I told her it would be inappropriate for me to pay her to put right something that one of her staff had put wrong. She told me that I should take it up with the woman whoâ¬"d damaged my pelvis. I told her that I had no wish to give the therapist whoâ¬"d hurt me the opportunity of perhaps making things worse, and that I had confidence in Caraghâ¬"s ability to put it right. She reiterated her wish that I pay her.

It is now 16 days since my pelvis has subluxed. I will now have to pay another therapist to put it right. I cannot recommend this practise or its staff to anyone who seeks healing. In my experience, their priority is making money, not healing patients.
Iâ¬"d like to preface my remarks about the appalling way I was treated by the staff at this practise with a quote from the Hippocratic oath, the code of honour in which doctors swear to â¬Ünever do harm to anyoneâ¬".
