Thorntons choccies never fail to please, the ice creams are lovely too. There is also a range of diabetic chocolates for those who need them. The individual bags of different varieties are always good value for money. I often give thorntons chocolate selection boxes as gifts, they usually go down well. You can also get gift vouchers to give as gifts for the times when you are unsure of exactly what to choose. Whilst in store it is sooo tempting to get your self some thing as a treat too, but hey, thats what this shop is all about, treating yourself. What do you do when you've had a big lunch, and later you are strolling the streets of Covent Garden when suddenly you spy a place that is supposed to serve the best gelato in town. You do what you have to do, don't you, and eat some, full belly or not.

So we rocked into Scoop, not in top ice cream eating form unfortunately, but keen to sample at least one flavour anyway. The gelato looked lovely and creamy, and there weren't too many flavours - when there is it makes it impossible to choose and you also wonder how long some of them have been sitting there... But there was still enough choice to make our decision difficult. Thankfully we were able to have a couple of small tastes before making our final choice.

In the end I just had a single serve of Lemon sorbet. It was very lemony and tangy and I liked it. A great place for interesting sandwiches. The main draw is their spit roast chickens, which they sell in baguettes (half a chicken!) or with salad. Monmouth is two beasts in one - they sell really expensive ground coffee and fancy expensive chocolates and apple juices on one hand, but they also do the greatest Americano for only Â£1!

Add a homemade American-style chocolate biscuit for 50p and you're actually looking at change from Â£2!

It's a small place and can get busy with only a few customers, but it's hands down the best and cheapest place to get a decent cuppa on the go.

Been hearing about Paul Boulangerie & Pattiserie for ages. I finally went to one of the chain (Covent Garden) in the hunt for THE croissant place in London. You see, I'm quite a croissant connoisseur. I had a pain au chocolat. It was slightly disappointing. It was a bit stale and dry, perhaps it was towards the end of the day. But the display of various flans, cakes, tarts, claufouti and sweets sure look delicious!

First of all a few disclaimers, I am not a tea drinker (I love coffee), and I go the Tea House a few times a year to buy the tea for my mom when I go back to Paris.

I like this place a lot as most places in London where you get your tea is from chains like Whittards. As soon as you enter The Tea House you feel as though you've entered this little Asian microcosm. The tea they stock isn't exclusively Asian but they do carry a large amount of tea from this part of the world.

Most of their customers at the moment seem to be tourists, which is obvious due to their central location in Covent Garden. They do have a local group of recurrent customers who come to the Tea House due to the friendliness of their staff, knowledge, but of course their huge choice in tea.

If you are a tea aficionado, or not, and are looking for this unique tea or just for high quality tea you should definitely check out the Tea House.
