I've been to Frieda three times already since 2 months! It is definitely a bar I would recommend, as the atmosphere is without comparison! The barmen there and the customers all seem to know eachother, and it was not long before I become one of their friend.
This is great, as it is harder and harder to find a place where you are not being considered as an anonymous!
To be honnest, last time I went there was just to grab a scarf I had forgotten the previous week end, I had just poped in to grab it, and ended up staying at Frieda B all the eveningI've been to Frieda three times already since 2 months! I've just had my birthday at Hop & Spice, and I felt I had to comment on what an awesome place this is.

We were so well looked after. We had their set menu (Â£19 each) - which for 20 of us was perfect. They went to the trouble of printing my name on all the menus , and we were greeted with a glass of chilled champage each. You can see where this is going ...

The food started to arrive - mixed starters included their crispy lamb & potato cakes. If you have one thing at Hop & Spice - have these! A taste sensation. 6 amazing curries followed plus their house special - kottu rotti (shredded bread, egg, veg, chilli and lots of other lovely stuff - all in one bowl). Dessert included a delicious sticky chocolate brownie with thick cream & cinnamon.

To wash down this culinary delight. Well, it's not your B'day every day so we worked our way through the beer list. Very drinkable Sri Lankan brew (Lion) to start - the rest is a blur but included Innis & Gun (brewed in whiskey barrels), Old Speckled Hen, and Leffe Blonde. Where else in London can you do that over a delicious curry??

I've visited Dish Dash on a few occasions - but most recently went there with some friends who had come to visit us. We had a really great time - and was really something different for our friends who don't live in London.

We started off with some gorgeous cocktails and then got stuck into the food. It was lovely as usual - we chose lots of smaller dishes - which I think is a great way of eating. We also had a great (couple of) bottles of a great rose while eating - although I'm afraid I don't remember its name.

I would always recommend a trip to Dish Dash when you're in the area - as well as the food and drink - the service is always excellent and the atmosphere always fun.

My sister worked there for 12 hour after which she was told she wasnt going to get paid by the owner Andy.
She got devastated.
I tried to reason with Andy but he thought he was ok to rip off young girls.

This has got to be the restaurant with the worst service. They have never ceased to disappoint however the restaurant is a good size and has a nice atmosphere. Food is of a average standard but they do have some must trys like the Prawn starter and Pizzas. If you are happy to wait quite some time for your food and can forgive sloppy mistakes which are a regular occurance then you may be okay to try.This has got to be the restaurant with the worst service. Have eaten twice at The Avalon now the 1st time was barely accectable, but thought we try again. On both occaisions waitstaff were hopeless,setting wrong cutlery for places at our table, taking wrong food to customers at our table, generally slow and un enthusiastic.

This brings me to the most worrying part of my dining experience. The 2nd occaision at The Avalon was for a birthday with a surprise cake. Upon arriving the person taking care of the surprise cake was approadched by a waitress and asked if the candles should read 32 or 23...... Infront of the person whos birthday it was. Surprise!! Then came back later and spoke to the same person taking care of the surprise and asked so who is the surprise for??... Infront of the person whos birthday it was. Cats out of the bag now.

We proceeded to eat our meals have the " surprise " cake and couple of drinks from the bar. Upon leaving the birthday guest got violently ill from what he knows was something he had consumed during the evening. It was very worrying.

If you have never been to Spain and know nothing of Spanish cuisine and have slightly more money than taste, then this place is right up your strasse.
The food is pretentious - there isn't a market for El Bulli in Battersea.
They seem obsessed with putting bizarre sauces over dishes that don't need them. The portions are not generous for the price and the service is poor. In essence they simply fail to do the basics right - but charge as if they do.

The Peacock is Clapham Junction's newest 2am late night bar club but with a twist combining burlesque and cabaret early evening with retro 80s/90's Djs later every Friday & Saturday to create truly awesome club nights. Never been to a cabaret show before? Worried its not your thing? Don't be you can still enjoy the great bar vibe and Djs after (although we find almost everyone is bowled over by the shows! anyway) - plus we only ever put volunteers on the stage promise!!!

Coming later for the Djs and dancing? Do'nt forget to book your guaranteed entry guestlist for Fridays/Saturdays (entry free anyway) and we may be able to rustle you up some seating too!

We are just two minutes from Clapham Junction Station and less than five minutes from Battersea Rise, Lavender Hill, Northcote Road and St Johns Hill.

To make your party, celebration really stand out why not as well as booking a reserved area or cordoned off area take part in "Stars In Their Eyes". and be invited on stage from the audience by our singer who will sing you a love song whist you look adoringly into his eyes or dance away. For men we can pair you up with one of our female performers if you fancy being sung "Big Spender" whist our performer writhes around you. For the more adventurous we can also arrange for our trannie performers to do something a little raunchier!

All aided by tacky original 70s/ 80s visuals and rubbish cheapo lighting for that real School Disco feel.

Entry Complimentary all night (guestlist for guaranteed entry) - book your guestlist or reserved area online from our Bookings Page. But do come early as the shows commence at 9pm on the dot and our prima donnas don't like to be kept waiting! DJs and dancing after from 10.30pm ish till carriages at 2.30am

Oh and just so you know Dave DiskoJuice has taken to giving lucky customers signed copies of Hello magazine but if you want to make requests you now have to go through his agent 14 days in advance (very helpful Dave) . That's of course when's he' s not boring you with stories of all the celebrities he now knows!

This is not some sort of Italian mecca. It doesn't pretend to be.
It is more or less like Pizza Express BUT with great, fresh food and plenty of menu choice and excellent service and a really good (if a bit noisy) atmosphere.
It is nearly always full of people like us who walk there from where they live. Supper for two including plenty of booze - £60. Can't be bad.This is not some sort of Italian mecca. It doesn't pretend to be.

I am afraid to say that this place is so far beyond its sell by date it is almost unbelievable. 10 years ago, you would suffer the poor service because the food was good.
That can't be said today.
Poor food, the same dreadful service but now with even less atmosphere.

Went to the Grove despite the reviews as it is local and I was very surprised. It's a beautiful pub with open fires and a lovely dining room.

We went on a Sunday so it was busy but we were served quickly and our food arrived within 10 minutes. The roast was the best I have ever had in a pub and the burger was very good too.

The staff were very attentive and offered table service even when busy.
