went there last night, the food was ready in two minutes not a good sign. It was 90% cool to tepid! Four of the six dishes were really bland and old. Surprise, nobody asked how the food was. The music we had to ask to take off or change as it came and went on/off/on/off!
When the bill came, we put more than the bill by ten pounds and the waiter asked 3 times, "All for me" -only to be told 3 times -"no bring the change"!!! ....AVOIDwent there last night, the food was ready in two minutes not a good sign. Upscale service in Royal Horseguards Hotel just down from the Defence Ministry on Whitehall and a block over from the Battle of Britain Monument on the Thames. The duck and sea bass were excellent as were their potatoes. Creamed potatoes might seem too plebian but theirs were exquisite. Lobster Bisque tasted very fresh, served hot with many pieces of lobster. Highly recommended! I came to the cinnamon club bar on Fri 17th July as they had a club night on with a DJ and it was great! had a really good atmosphere, we all had lots of fun as well as some delicious cocktails! They are having a 70's and 80's night on the 31st July, can't wait!

This pace is amazing!!!! - the best Italian restaurant I have been to in a very long time. The service was excellent and the staff were really friendly.
The place was bustling with people.
I had the tagietelli with fresh lobster and I have to say I have never tasted anything like it! The starters were equally yummy and interesting. My friend had the veal with mushrooms which was also fantastic.

I would heartily recommend this place to anyone. Also suitable for families!!!This pace is amazing!!!! - the best Italian restaurant I have been to in a very long time. The service was excellent and the staff were really friendly.
The place was bustling with people.

This is one of my favourites. What can be better than a Scottish whisky and cigar bar? Well this place also has great Jazz and excellent food. You can either eat in the fairly pricey, but worth it, restaurant. Or you can eat from the bar menu (there are actually two bars here. One is like a mini pub?).
I have to say that I have eaten and tried a lot of burgers in my life, but the truffle burger served at the bar here, is no less than "the greatest burger in the world" (assuming you like truffle!). The restaurant has never disappointed me, serving excellent food to the highest standards.
For the smokers amongst you, since the ban, they have created an upstairs terrace which is great...even in winter!
If you arrive later or stay later, they do often require a payment for the band. The Jazz is often extremely good and enjoyable and inishes the evening nicely.This is one of my favourites. In 20 years of eating here, we had never had lunch - always an evening venue.
We know that the staff are inclined towards being a bit 'gallic', but recently they have really started to pull out all the stops.
The service was excellent, the food spot on (as always) and the ambience was ok - frankly there's not much they can do about the fact that there was the odd table of 'sales and marketing' folk on a day out from up North.

I think I may be a little over-excited whilst reviewing Kazan - even though I went over 24 hours a go.

The service was charming. The waitress gave us a taste of the Turkish wine we were having before buying...perhaps they were used to skeptical customers. No need; tasty.

Highlights were: halumi & fig (lightly fried in pomegranate something or other) - yum, deep fried mussels, Grilled King prawn and various other things that all seemed terrific.

La piece de resistance is being able to order an apple shiha & mint tea on an outside table for a postprandial tummy patting & pontification session.

Utterly charming and I'll certainly be back.

I only ate doner with rice plus salad. Doner was a bit fatty but still delicious, especially if you are a Turkish who have not been home for a while. The restaurant was clean and tidy. It's always an invidious position when you're reviewing a place at the expense of others. Does the lack of a hit in the wallet at the end of the night blunt your critical faculties? Well hopefully not...

Unlike previous visits, on this occasion we had a private dining room for 20 and more significantly a selection of dishes from the whole menu. It's rare to get the chance to be able to objectively give a realistic overview such as this, mostly down to the breathtaking prices charged here or anywhere of this standard, as usually you have to make a judgement on a whole menu (and restaurant) based on just a couple of dishes.

For those in the party that had an aversion to raw fish, they needn't have worried as the menu was a real fusion of cultures and cuisines, with the South American influence to the fore. There were some real stars for me - the cultish Black Cod in miso really lived up to its reputation and tenderloin of Beef in wasabi pepper sauce was very well received by the non-piscetarians. The tempura dishes were light and dainty and the sashimi utterly fresh, the yellowtail being my favourite.

Service was faultless and unobtrusive and the whole affair actually benefited from having a bit of space away from the sometimes cramped, noisy and packed general dining area.

I have gone on record to say that the River Cafe is vastly overrated and L"Anima is my current favourite Italian in London.

Well Theo Randall now has his own canvas to paint on free from Rosie and Ruthie !

I had a very good meal here last night as a guest of Subterranean.

We both started with the capelletti stuffed with slow roasted veal which was good to the standard found in an average restaurant in say Parma but nowhere near the delights of the Sorelle Picchi in that same fiar city or even an excellent Tortelli stuffed with osso buco a la Milanese that I onCe had a Locanda Locatelli full of flavour, a juicy runny meat and sauce stuffing.

My host had what he desribed as a superb grilled calves liver and I had a truly outstanding Vela Chop topped with porcini and slasa verde.

We shared some fried Zucchini that were good but not as good as those at L'Anima.

We both finished with a truly superb selection of deserts to share - homemade vanila ice cream , pana cotta , lemon tart and chocolate cake - all were really outstanding.

We drank a bottle of Frans Hass Pinot Grigio form Alto Adige and ended with a glass of Sweet Asti.

Perhaps because the retaurantis in a major international hotel it tries to please people with eclectic tastes hence some great Italian wines are conspicous by their absence eg. Passito di Pantelleria one of the worlds top dessert wines.
