I have been to the Queensway 'Royal China' many times over many years.

It is really the best Chinese restaurant in the area overall after trying most of the others.
The Dim Sum is so well known for being among London's best I will not go on other than to say get here EARLY!

The menu is large and varied so even fussy eaters should find something to their liking.
It is nearly always busy but the staff do their best in an efficient but not necessarily friendly manner.

If you are in the area and chinese is on your mind - 'Royal China' should be your first choice.

The 'Mandarin Kitchen' is opposite my favourite Chinese restaurant in the area, 'Royal China'.
I think BOTH are among the best in London and easily surpass the many others in Queensway.

The Seafood is the reason to go here instead of 'Royal China' in my opinion. I have had lobster on a number of occasions and have always been impressed.

The service is good, the ambience is generally busy.
If you are in the area and are in the mood for chinese seafood this is a great option.

Fatoush is one of the many Lebanese "Shawarma" (their spelling) joints on Edgware Road in London W2.

I went in here purely because it was near to the Tube Station and I was in a hurry to get to my destination.
I am glad I did because this place is rather good for a number of reasons.
The service was fast & friendly and the end "sandwich" was very good. The Lamb on the spit was good quality and well spiced. The bread was fine and the salad nice in that there was some capsicum peppers added which actually went quite well with this particular kebab. The Garlic sauce was good and the Chilli moderate in both heat & flavour.

The shop appearance is very clean and it was busy but the guy who seemed to be running things came up to greet me as soon as I went in and proceeded to make sure the server built the Scwarma to my exact specifications of Chilli & Garlic sauce.

Just got some parts replaced at Barnes. They 'informally' quoted a ballpark Â£46 and said come back in half hour.
Like a schmuck i hadn't carefully checked what theyre quoting for.... like did the quote include labour and vat etc....
I went to pick the bike up and the cost had jumped to Â£75. I complained but theres not much i could do to save on the hassle.....

I've travelled around quite a bit and I've had a lot of Greek food and this is by far the best Greek restaurant I've been to. The one place I've never visited is Greece and I suspect that the only place I would top this food is in Greece. I recommend this place to everyone I know that visits London. This place skips the cheap adolescent hype that others bring in to replace what their food lacks and what you get is an honest, authentic dish that is nothing more or less than some of the best Greek food out there. I'm an East London girl who rarely leaves trendier-than-thou Shoreditch but alas I was persuaded to cross that invisible boundary and head west for my good friend Karen's birthday party at All Star Lanes (I hadn't even heard of it before I received the party invitation). As soon as I stepped into the Bayswater branch, I knew it was going to be a great night. Karen had her party booked in a Old West and cowboy themed space called the Private Room- I called it paradise because the waitresses kept serving us tasty-sized canape treats and a handsome bartender keep the 'jolly juice' flowing. And the best thing about the Private Room is that we could bowl until our hearts content. Karen had an amazing time and so did we - job well done and everyone leaves slightly tipsy, well-feed and happy.

It's a good place, Iv'e been there a couple of times with me mates, and we have enjoyed it immensely. Last week I had Lunch at Le CafÃ© Anglais and on leaving came to the same conclusion that I have had the two previous times I visited this restaurant. My conclusion was I really should eat here more often.

I have never met co owner and Chef Rowley Leigh apart from a brief exchange of pleasantries at Kensington Place some years ago but I am old enough to have eaten his food, in several of the restaurants he was involved in, including Le Gavroche Sloane Street, Le Poulbot, Kensington Place, probably, 192 on a week end night and maybe even a Hamburger at Joe Allen.

Rowley Leigh's food could be described as Franco Italian bistro/brassiere-influenced modern British cooking but this man of impeccable taste is far more open minded and Spain and Japan clearly figure in his gastronomic melting pot.

Leigh like Alistair Little and Simon Hopkinson always produced perfectly executed simple food made with excellent ingredients. What all three have in common along with another contemporary Sally Clarke is that despite the simplicity of a given dish you somehow felt the personality of the chef coming through. One also felt that these chefs developed strong views on food and a vision about how it should be cooked and presented.

Along with Bibendum I think the art deco Le CafÃ© Anglais has the most beautiful rooms in London. At lunch the huge windows overlooking Bayswater Road and Porchester Gardens flood the vast room with natural light even when the sun is not shinning which of course is more often than not.

Like the room (170 covers) the Menu is vast with Hors Dâ¬"Oeuvres, Starters, Mains many side dishes and puddings. There is a daily Lunch Menu and for Dinner a daily roast ranging from Venison to Gloucester Old Spot Pork along with the permanent Rotisserie Classics (Chicken, Beef, Game and Lamb)

Probably because my mother hails from Bologna I have never resisted the Mortadella with Celeriac Remoulade (well sourced) and Parmesan Custard with Anchovy Toast (perfect) and on this occasion we also had Pike Boudain, a little bland for me however the explosion of controlled flavour from Mackerel Teriyaki certainly made up for that,

Both my companion and I love Roast Chicken choose the option to have just the leg with it's jus and some beautifully cooked Chanterelles. This is an absolute bargain at Â£4.50 for what I consider to be the best part of any chicken including the UK's best, Label Anglais favoured and championed by Rowley Leigh.

I finished my meal with well-made Peach Melba whilst my friend chose the Queen of Puddings that also got thumbs up.

The wine list well constructed with both Old and New World fairly represented (therefore no New World :-) ). We had a pretty decent chilled Chinon ( I failed to note the winemaker or year) which served it's purpose of more or less matching our eccentric choices of food.

The service on a fairly busy Lunch service was perfect from the moment I set foot in the restaurant to when I departed two and a half hours later.

In terms of large modern Brassiere style Restaurants in London I prefer Le CafÃ© Anglais to The Wolesley primarily because the food is better but also this well run operation has leveraged the space to create a very pleasant environment that is perfect for a business lunch, treating your elderly parent or dare I say a romantic dinner or hot date.

Having reflected on why I don't go more often it's probably because of the location and as most of my lunches are business related I become a prisoner of the City and West End. However to paraphrase the words of the most famous of all guides, Le CafÃ© Anglais is certainly worth a detour.

We drove from North London to join my children who live near by for a most enjoyable birthday celebration last night. The food was really tasty and served hot without delay. The service was very good and the staff were very polite and onhand throughout the evening with suggestions and attention to detail. Would thoroughly recommend. In this hostel are dirty carpets with many black spots, on walls are a lot of mold.
Tiles in bathroom aren't plastered - they are loose and there are mold also.
If you want cook sth in the kitchen - take with you dishes - there isn't anything.
Localisation is great and this is one advantage.

I can highly recommend this pub and have done so to many of my friends when asked to recommend somewhere to drink around Notting Hill - I have read other reviews about this pub on other sites who rave on about the great bar staff and I have to agree. It is rare to find such a friendly team of people.. They were not only extreamly efficient in serving us our order but friendly and not in that over fake/forced style of service that you get in some places. They just seemed to genuinely happy to serve you. The food is not bad either.. If you are looking for a place to do drink with good food in Notting Hill you really can't go wrong. We were visiting London and staying in the Lancaster gate are and me and my husband where looking for somewhere nice to go and have coffee before we explored the city every day and on our second day we came upon the cupcake emporium and we couldnâ¬"t have been more thrilled. The coffeeâ¬"s where really good and according to my husband the blueberry milkshake was fantastic. One thing I will say is one day when they were quite busy they did take 5 minutes to serve us but I think that was because they only had one waiter that day. But overall big thumbs up.We were visiting London and staying in the Lancaster gate are and me and my husband where looking for somewhere nice to go and have coffee before we explored the city every day and on our second day we came upon the cupcake emporium and we couldnâ¬"t have been more thrilled. The coffeeâ¬"s where really good and according to my husband the blueberry milkshake was fantastic. One thing I will say is one day when they were quite busy they did take 5 minutes to serve us but I think that was because they only had one waiter that day. But overall big thumbs up.
