When you've just got to have a curry this is the only place in Barnes. All the old favourites, nothing fancy but it never fails. And it's cheap.

Another local of mine & I'd really like to like this place.

The bar is nice, staff friendly & it has a super garden at the back but the food is very hit and miss and for the prices it has to be consistent.

This is my local, so I have a slight interest, but I'm never disappointed with a visit here. My wife tries to persuade me to visit one of the many alternatives in Barnes, but there's no place like it for a relaxed Sunday lunch.

Great food, friendly staff and a beer-garden that catches sun all afternoon! If you are looking for a relaxing laid back lunch I would highliy recommend the Bridge. Went there last week for a friday night drink.

The coach and horses is not a huge pub. It looks like it was originally two small bars which have been knocked through to make one largish room.

As I said there's not masses of room, but the C&H had friendly bar staff and seems much more a locals pub, perhaps because of it's location away from the river? Anyway wasn't complaining as the Garden was lovely, perfect for the balmy evening!

Most of my companions were sinking the beer (it's a Young's pub) and a couple of us were knocking back the Rose. The pub does do food, but we weren't partaking.

A very enjoyable evening was had by all.Went there last week for a friday night drink.

This is one of those dark pubs, the kind with dark wood interior, an almost oldish smell (in a good way), classic stuff.
The place has some nice nooks for groups, and two bars.
They have a decent choice of drinks, and the food can be pretty good. It's a fairly young crowd in there, and can get lively in the summer.
It's also opposite the pond/mere & park, and within reasonable walking distance from The Idle Hour. There are also quite a few close pubs/bars/restaurants, which is always handy.

This place used to have a wide selection of local and foreign drinks, since the L'Auberge (restaurant) addition, it's since become a bit of a giant, generic pub, which looks good on first impressions, but is so big it feels a bit vacuous, lacks atmosphere.
But it 'is' big, does do parties, and is pretty good for watching sports.
The food used to be good, but I've not tried it since the change-over.
To summarise:
- Not bad for drinking in groups.
- They sold out.

Fantastic curry, been too many times to count. Everything on the menu has a special touch, quality ingredients and great flavours. And if you like it hot (damn hot), ask them for their cobra chillies (while stocks last ;).

The service is also great, have gotten to know them well now. If they're not too busy, they're always willing to have a chat and tell you the virtues of their cuisine and ingredients.

The owner is a veteran restauranter, with two other restaurants in the south west.Fantastic curry, been too many times to count. I do believe we have found a little find in Mortlake! It is classed as a pub, but it is more restauranty for sure.

My sister said a friend had recommended it, so we went along. The interior is beautifully decorated& muted colours, warm and cosy, with candles burning and gilt-edged mirrors handing on the walls.

The only downer for me was the bathroom. A disappointment really. One would expect a funky and arty bathroom, to go along with the restaurant, and it wasn't smelly in a bad way, but it was damp, the hand dryer wasn't working, and it didn't live up to its location.

Oh well. Not enough to put us off going again tho!

The food was lovely (albeit expensive& but then this isn't a cheap part of London..), we had some pita bread with houmous for a starter.

Lance and I had their steak burger with chips, and LOTS of salad, which was yummy.

Cooked well, no complaints at all.

My sister had cod and chips& she said it was quite bony, but was succulent and tasted delicious. Lance had a Speckled Hen beer and we had lager shandies.
