Paddington Railway Station - Mix of old and New by Artflight

You'll find the usual newsagents, McDonalds, Pub and coffee shop in the station, but you also find a Sainsbury's local, a boots and lots of other eateries catering for your every need.

Links to the Underground are pretty good, but be aware that access to the Hammersmith & City Line is halfway down the (long) platforms. You'll find the first class lounge on platform 1. Note that you'll have to pay to go to the toilet, so wait until you get on the train if you can. Display boards are clear, but for busy trains keep an eye on them, 'cause when the platform number comes up about 15 mins before you depart there's a mass rush for the train! This is a great railway station steeped in history, but also with a modern shopping area that caters for all tastes. If you've got the option of a number of underground routes to get to your ultimate destination, try to avoid the Circle and District lines, as the service is usually very slow and trains seem to take ages to come. Better to take the Bakerloo line, or the Hammersmith & City Lines.

However, whilst the Bakerloo, Circle and District lines are all accessible within the same station, the Hammersmith & City line is right at the other end of the Railway station. It is larger than Manchester Piccadilly but the layout is similar. There are over 10 platforms in a row at one end of the station, at the other end there are the entrances to the station. There are many shops nearby and you aren't short for choice if you wish to buy something to eat.

It is a very, very busy station with trains going to many different destinations in the country as well as the airports.

There are large boards and voice overs telling you about train details. There are always staff on hand and information desks where you can ask for help. You can also purchase oyster cards or add credit to them for when you need to go down and use the underground.

The underground station is easily accessible if you need to take the train afterwards, although it is never recommended that, if it can be helped, to bring a lot of luggage, as you will have to at some point climb stairs and with the multitude of people, it can be a huge nightmare.

If you didn't know this already, there are cheap tickets between Manchester Piccadilly and London Euston (Virgin trains) which are very popular amongst passengers, but there is limited choice with regards to time and dates. This railway station is probably one of the best that I have used alongside Manchester Piccadilly. No. Would you use this station again? It's bigger, brighter, cleaner, fresher and newer and has new things. It now has the Eurostar which starts from here and goes all the way to Paris.

Now its has even more shops in now amongst all the coffee shops as well and there are restaurants as well. Amongst the many shops they have are ones you may find on Oxford Street or Regents Street like Hamleys, though these shops are much smaller than the main shops in the city; also a Monsoon shop with women's and children's clothing and a big Boots, a lot of new shops and very big too.

This is all inviting and welcoming to anyone into London.

With many lines they also travel in both directions so you can go to more places in the UK and beyond into Europe from here.

The modernisation was in place with the building working around passengers using this rail station and now that all the building work is finished all these results and more can be seen and used and its very impressive, they have pulled off quite the renovation of this station and combines the past, present and future on a huge scale for all and everyone that uses this major artery into and out of the capital.

For the arrival and departure boards they are more spaced out so you do not get as much crowding around a main board as in other train stations. If you need to buy a new car and have heard of White City then this is the place people are talking about. Just check thetube.com for directions to White City from the area you are travelling from. When you arrive, just take the stairs up and follow the signs out of the station. There is a curtesy bus that will take you down the road to the White City motor sale point where you can browse hundreds, if not thousands of vehicles and purchase then and there too.

if you are after a BBC show then this is also the station you must travel to. I would rate the station above average on grounds of clenliness. It is worth noting that as this station is at the end of a line it is rather busy at night and there can be a crowd of rather roudy people hanging around so please take precautions to safegaurd your personal belongongs and self when commuting through this station, especially after hours or on Friday/Saturday nights when this area is more bustling due to its close locality with the london theatre district as well.

The station, as mentioned is an above ground so there are not many trains and frequency has always been an issue. It almost seems popular, but really is more because of its location and people that use it.

Just being outside the city of London is one reason and having facilities in Camden on and the High Street and other roads, along with the markets, mean that people flock to this area.

This is also a place where many students live and people from all around the world who may be staying in the surrounding area.

With Camden then being a major junction and because it branches off into two sections going north to High Barnet and the other to Edgware, means there are two tracks going north and two going south.

You can enter the station from two sides, one on the Camden High Street side and the other on the Kentish Town Road. Barriers for entering and leaving are usually available on both side for most days and staff are always on hand to help and when they get busy.

On the Kentish Town Road side entrance are several tickets and oyster top up machines and a ticket counter.

*Note though: On a Sunday between 1pm and 5pm there is no entering Camden tube station to get a train and you are only allowed to exit from here. This is because it gets very busy with people coming to the markets. One of the next stations you could use if this happens is Mornington Crescent at the other end of Camden High Street.

Also, when they get very busy as well, they make the escalators go up only and to get down you have to use the stairs.Camden Underground station is a very busy underground station. Bit unsavoury. I thought it was not nice to wait around there. I don't understand by LT don't spend money on cleaning up and decorating stations and leave them in this state for London visitors to see. There are no taxi's outside the station, but ther is a bus stop just outside-so the station is handy for this Also handy for the local hospital (Central Middx). When I have been to the station there was no-one in the booking office. Also has steep steps to the top /outside.This is a dimly lit station, with dark platforms and bad smell in booking office area (like some-one had used it to urinate in). Bit unsavoury.
Stonebridge Park Station - Bit of a lonely rough area by moner

Platforms are a bit dark, with the rails lovers down than the platform. and no-one is in the ticket office usually. There appeared to be a lot of youths hanging around the front of the station and on the platform in hoodies-swearing, so you do not feel very safe. They also appear not to be buying or using any tickets and rush to board the tube train. I would not recommend that any young lady wait her with her friends or def on her own. It is a bit dark and isolated on the platform and really this station should be avoided if possible. This station could do with a lick of paint and some more security.
