i just love the food here, but we wonâ¬"t be returning after last night. The service was slow & surly. Even though there were only 2 of us, they brought my main (a salad) about 15 minutes before my husbandâ¬"s main (mixed grill). The portions were tiny (a piss take, really). When we raised these issues with the owner, she didnâ¬"t seemed concerned at all. Whatâ¬"s worse (if not bizarre) is that she denied being the owner. This was despite the fact that two pictures of her were on the wall next to our table! This woman knows how to cook but has no business running a restaurant.

Caffe Caldesi is a cafÃ©/bar/brasserie located just off Marylebone High Street. We popped in there for a drink one evening before visiting Le Relais de Venise next door for the most delicious steak and chips.

It was a mild evening, but unfortunately there were no free tables outside (there are only a couple, which are no doubt in high demand), so we had to sit inside. We opted for a table as opposed to milling around the bar, as we were exhausted from a busy shopping expedition. We just had some drinks, but those eating around us seemed to be enjoying their food and it looked good.

When we arrived the atmosphere was a little subdued, though service was fast and friendly. By the time we left, it was more lively, though service suffered as a result. Koba is a very nice Korean place, not expensive and the food is very good. You can't go there without eating some of their awesome grilled meat or tasting their starters, but the place is incredibly smelly! So don't wear your fave outfit and forget about going anywhere else for a drink (not even think of a club, they will bounce you at the door for sure!) after dining!
My tip is to take different starters and main courses and share them.
The bill is reasonable even if you add the dry cleaning for your clothes... :)

Barrafina is a nice place. It was too busy to eat when I went so I just had some good red wine and a few starters... stuffed olives and ham (the famous jamÃ²n serrano).
The bill said Â£31 for the 2 of us... I wouldn't call it cheap but you can't demand too much if you go in a pretty trendy place in the heart of Soho, can you?Barrafina is a nice place. Truly representative of the tectonic changes that are driving the metamorphosis of Londonâ¬"s Kings Cross is Camino Bar â¬ that is if you can find it! Nicely off the beaten track is probably more generous and that ensures that only those who know itâ¬"s there actually visit â¬ and thatâ¬"s more than enough.

Walking through the alleyway into the Courtyard is the equivalent of a metaphorical shower as you leave the grime behind and enter an aesthetically pleasing, deliciously clean and funky authentic Spanish culinary & cultural experience. The secluded courtyard neatly divides the bar and restaurant and in both authenticity is the name of the game. Knowledgeable bar staff help you out with your choices from excellent Spanish wine to draught Cruzcampo served in iced glasses and artisan chefs deliver true classic Spanish cooking from the parilla (charcoal grill) whether it be red mullet, jamon iberico or steak.
Itâ¬"s hard to fault this place, with its gregarious atmosphere and exciting vibrant fare and all a stoneâ¬"s throw from the gateway to the continent that has done much to drive the huge regeneration that is happening to the area.

Overall, our experience at Momo's was very good.
The athmosphere is great although a bit noisy at times (background music), but the service is very friendly and efficient.

We took the sea food Tagine and Momo's couscous. The semolina was light, the veg were etremely tasty and the lamb perfectly cooked.

There is also a nice selection of Moroccan wines; the one we chose (Cabernet ... cannot remember the name!) was excellent!

The only little thing I did not like was the fact that you have to leave a credit card in order to secure the reservation of the table which really surprised me ... even 3 star Michelin restaurants do not do that, and you have the table for 2 hours. I wonder if they would have kicked me out after 2 hours!Overall, our experience at Momo's was very good.

Came here last week and was pleasantly surprised. Have been to the bar on the ground floor quite a few times but never the restaurant which is on the 1st floor overlooking Sainsbury's car park. I always thought it was a bit of a strange location but actually the restaurant with its exposed brick and long wall of windows felt really airy and light. And the view wasn't that bad- felt nice to be so high up. The menu is quite like a brasserie menu, small but caters for all. Gi went for the sea bass which she said was lovely and I went for the feather steak which is served rare. I would probably go for the sirloin next time - as the feather wasn't as tender as i would have liked. Sorbet ice cream was divine though. Service was great and i liked the candles which gave the restaurant a romatic glow. Wasn't too impressed with the Real Greek to be honest. I used the tastelondon card getting 50% off the food bill however I thought the portions were quite measley for the full price. For example a skewer of pork/chicken costs Â£4.25 - tasted great but for four small bits of chicken it is a tad expensive. The plates are very tasty especially the octopus and the vine leaves but they could do better with having bigger portions, or cheaper plates. For small plates of food, I would definitely prefer to go to Beirut Express or a El Rincon for tapas instead of the Real Greek. Wasn't too impressed with the Real Greek to be honest. My Chinese friend invited me to dinner and asked me where was good to eat good chinese food. Not really wanting to head into Chinatown to have your bog standard dishes, I chose the Four Seasons after reading quite a few good reviews about it.

We arrived just in time to bag ourselves a table without having to queue at 6.45pm. Others had to wait - it looked like a popular restuarant and there hardly were any westerners - a very good sign!

The food came very quickly and in very big portions. Of course we ordered the special cantonese duck - the house speciality which was very tasty and had just a sliver of fat - the skin was just divine. We also ordered the ma po tofu and the sizzling spicy aubergine and pork - both the best i've ever tasted, fresh and of good quality.

Service was abrupt but efficient. I loved watching the waiters come out with trays stacked up with piles of roast duck. Bill came up to Â£36 for the two of us- quite a bit more than Chinatown with the tea at Â£1.50 per person and service charge included, but well worth it. My Chinese friend thought so too.

Celebrating how good it is to be alive is probably how I'd sum up this place. A "no frowns allowed" policy seems to permeate all who frequent this louche bar with a definite twinkle in it's eye. I head to Lost Society when I want to forget a bad day and sandblast stress with divine cocktails and a great winelist.

Decadent opulence is the theme of the decor that has "tarted up" this lovely 16C Barn which has five rooms ranging from Oriental to Bohemian with a nod to the lost British empire. The secluded garden for me is the star, especially when the weathers fine and you can hang out with a laid back club music feel as an underscore.

The owners describe their place as "intelligent drinking" and "delectable dining" and whilst that comes over as euphemistic elitist pigeon holing that's probably not far off the mark.

I recently visited Tom's Kitchen for a Sunday night meal with a group of friends. Although pricey the evening was good fun with great food and good service and I would recommend it.

They seem to have made quite an effort to make the place feel informal with canteen style seating where you share a bench with other diners. Music is also played quite loudly in the restaurant which makes it feel like a lively atmosphere.

The food was served promptly and was excellent. Probably no surprises there given that it is owned by Tom Aiken's. I ordered the steak tartare and a sirloin steak as a main which was probably a bit of a meat overload but both dishes were very tasty.

This family run Greek restaurant is fabulous in its quality and variety of traditional dishes and drinks. George and Androulla are perfect hosts....we have spent many lovely times in this gem of a restaurant over the last few years. Try ANY of their dishes and it will satisfy you totally...cooked to perfection by them. Can highly recommend their Meze & Grills..and excellent selection of wines & beers. The value is astounding. Although I had a lovely night here, I have mixed view on the Mint Leaf...

My other half made the booking and had to really haggle to get a table at 18:30, the unhelpful receptionist said we could only come at 18:00 and would have a limit of 2 hours only - she eventually relented and gave us a table at 6:30.

We arrived and found the resturant surprisingly tranquil with tea lights and petals on the dark wooden staircase, away from the roaming tourists.
Greeted by a smiling and polite receptionist, we were introduced to our waiter for the evening and shown to our seats. He gave us a brief over view of the menu and drinks, made suggestions as to the way we may like to order and left us in peace.
We then had a number of different staff bring our food and drinks over the vening with him double checking everything was OK.

Over a cocktail each, we ordered 4 small starter plates - Jumbo prawns (2), Soft shell crab (4 pieces), Duck kebabs (6 cocktail suasage sized) and Rabbit Loin (same as duck kebabs) to share and two different curries with rice and bread so we could try a range of dishes each.

I couldnt fault the seafood - the prawns were delicious and the crab was so nice I could of eaten another portion.
I wasn't over keen on the duck or rabbit as both meats had been minced too much you lost the real flavour and texture, then over spiced, sadly.

The curries were lovely, they wisely used the thigh meat in the chicken biriyani as this is known to be juicier and more tender.
The lamb was also very succulent. Plenty of rice for us both to share from the biriyani, the garlic kulcha was mild and delicate flavour.

We had a bottle of red wine also and shared a portion of sorbet at the end.

Including the discount offered by using our Taste London card, it still came to Â£110!!!

I found it to be over priced but it was very nice and for a good and fresh, modern indian I would go again.
The venue was very stylish and sleek looking, with great drink selection and staff.

My main concern was how loud it was, as there was no sound barrier between the typical City drunkards at the bar and the VERY loud dance music. Luckily we were tucked away in the corner away from the bar, unlike some unfortunate customers who only had them 2 feet away.

Pho is a fun and funky new-age Vietnamese caff with great, inexpensive food. The menu is pretty simple - they do a few variations of pho, the classic noodle soup, plus bun (which is a bowl of noodles with veggies, sauce, and your choice of tofu, prawns, beef or chicken), and some salads and Vietnamese baguettes. The starters are yummy too, especially the rice paper rolls. Apparently there is curry in the evening as well but I've not tried it as I'm always at Pho for lunch! I like the #17 (bun with prawns and spicy sauce) the best.

The flavours are very simple and fresh, and the staff are very friendly and happy to explain how the food all works together.

Be sure to try the iced coffee with your bowl of pho, or a flowering green tea!

Had a great time here: came after work and chilled upstairs with a few beers, and then we moved downstairs for some great cocktails that weren't overly expensive. Some of them packed quite a kick, and it's just as well that it closed at 1, or we wouldn't have made it home otherwise!! We ordered a couple of the platters to share. They weren't the most amazing thing in the world, but they were huge and not too pricey, so we were all happy with them.Had a great time here: came after work and chilled upstairs with a few beers, and then we moved downstairs for some great cocktails that weren't overly expensive. It's been a long time since I've felt the need to write a review about a restaurant but the service I received was worthy of the effort.
Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by a smiling, smartly dressed Italian waiter and a lovely female hostess. The waiter showed us to our table, whilst the chefs in the kitchen merrily sang in Italian in the background. Once seated, he let us know that he would be back shortly with wine recommendations and to take our orders. Although it was busy, sure enough he came back after 5 miunutes, allowing us to browse the wine and food menu. He offered his knowledge on what wines would best match our meals, and suggested that we try something off the Specials board.
The restaurant's atmosphere was lovely - it was so bustling, and everyone was chatting - it really did feel like an evening in Italy.
The food was beautifully presented, and tasted great. The sauces were so rich and creamy, and the lobster that my partner had was cooked to perfection, looked great and tasted amazing.
The whole evening was fantastic - we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and look forward to our next visit.

Fantastic Italian food with a contemporary spin.

The portions are smaller than usual but the menu is designed so that you can taste several dishes without burning your wallet. I indulged in a beef carpaccio starter, a lobster pasta main, a fillet & mash main and a dessert for less than Â£25-30, and the food was wonderful.

The waiters are all Italian, very friendly and with great attention to detail. The service was fantastic.

The restaurant itself has large windows and a terrace for the summer days.

Living in the south west, its difficult to really find authentic Malaysian food where we are, so whenever we are in London, we will zoom straight to Lagenda for our lunch & dinner. It is also a meeting place for our relations who are scattered around the outskirts of London eg Reading, Maidenhead, Hedgerley. We like celebrating birthdays etc. The reason is that being English & Chinese,the food served agrees with our individual palates. All of us have been to Malaysia, tasted the best of Malaysian cuisine & now back to the UK, we cannot but praise the food that we have partaken at Lagenda as most authentic than most. The seafood noodles, laksa, Kampong fried rice, nasi lemak was most palatable and reasonable in price. On one occasion we ordered the steamboat along with the other ala carte menu, we had a most enjoyable time because the food was delicious, the staff were friendly & helpful and the bill was much cheaper (to our amazement) than a few other restaurants that we have been to and not enjoyed as much.
