This is one of my favourite places for afternoon tea. It is such a relaxed atmosphere and you can just sit there and enjoy your afternoon eating sandwiches, scones and cakes and drinking tea.

I find this to be a far better standard than other hotels that offer afternoon tea and they will also replenish the food or tea if you want more.

A very pleasant place to wind down.This is one of my favourite places for afternoon tea. It is such a relaxed atmosphere and you can just sit there and enjoy your afternoon eating sandwiches, scones and cakes and drinking tea.

This is one hotel in two locations - neither really Covent Garden! Both are really in the Holborn area, which is still pretty central, but you'll have a 10 min walk to Covent Garden.

If you can get the rooms for a bargain price, then you can't really complain, but when you're paying the standard Â£110 a night, I would have expected a bit more. Plastic sheets covering the mattresses - making them crinkle when you move and causing you to sweat in the night (especially in the summer) - say it all really. The rooms are sparsely furnished, and have a bit of an unfinished feel about them. Family rooms can only be found in one of the hotels (the one further from Covent Garden), and if you turn up having lugged all your bags and kids to a hotel, only to be told that you've got to go another 200m up the road isn't really the best way to welcome you to the hotel. I can't believe they don't highlight this on their web site.

Oh well. I've always been a travelodge person when it comes to staying in budget accommodation, but as I couldn't get in to one for a family weekend in London, we decided to take a chance on this hotel. All I can say is that we were very impressed. The room was of an excellent standard, and the bed - well it was probably better than our one at home - so comfy! We took the kids and had a family room. Beds rolled out from underneath the main bed on each side for each of the kids, meaning that most of the floor space was covered, but as the kids are young it was fine. The TV has all the freeview channels, and the bathroom facilities were excellent.

Service at check-in/out was great. They gave the kids sweets while we were waiting and little rucksacks to take away. It also had a restaurant in it where breakfast was served (definitely recommended, with kids eating free), which also provided good value evening meals. The location is excellent. You're 5 mins walk from the tube, and the tube line is only 3 or 4 stops from the heart of the west end. In addition, there's a Tesco Metro just round the corner, good if you're trying to keep the costs of your visit down.

Great modern hotel close to Liverpool St station. Contemporary styled, spacious rooms with flat screen TV and WiFi. Luxurious bathrooms with plenty of fluffy towels and Aveda toiletries. Very helpful desk staff - on my visit they fulfilled my request for a quiet room on a higher floor. The hotel's bar is popular with locals and includes an open fire and lots of deep comfy chairs and setees. It's reasonably priced and often runs deals (register with them to get email alerts of each sale). Whilst the hotel is well located for the tourist, it is in dire need of a renovation. With potentially great views of Kensington Garden and the surrounding area, the hotel is let down by the 70s feel of the rooms which have in most cases had very little updating beyond DVD players and Flatscreens. In the six years I have been to the hotel as a conference guest, they have seemingly only updated the bar. However, the service is great and staff are friendly and helpful.Whilst the hotel is well located for the tourist, it is in dire need of a renovation. THis place is very deceiving looked fantastic online however very different story when u get there. Outside looked nice,reception was ok then the horror unfolded,every step on the stairs was held together with red electricians tape. The room! net curtains filthy black with dirt, The shower black with mould on the ceiling ,wall,and shower tray carpet covered in stains no tea coffee facilities available as stated online towels were not changed daily.Hot tap held on with white tape.Cant tell you about breakfast as we didnt dare try it as the room was enough to put you off. stayed here as last time had booked the hilton at wembley and that was not all that great and more expensive than this place. You are near to the stadium, which looks fab when lit up at night and you are close to a tube and main line train station, so you can easily get back after an evening on the town. There is an off licence and mcdonalds near by if you need them too. Over all this place is ok and offers reasonable rooms for a fair price but some of the newer express by holiday inns are better. Usually breakfast is incuded in the rate you pay. Get your self a loyalty card and collect points to get a free night any where in one of the groups hotels, book on line for cheaper member rates toostayed here as last time had booked the hilton at wembley and that was not all that great and more expensive than this place. The hotel's bar is an excellent venue to recharge your batteries and in a convenient location to meet up with friends.
The hotel itself is an imaginative conversion of the former 'French Hospital'. The rooms are triple-glazed - absolutely essential in this part of Covent Garden, unfortunately.
When I last visited the prices of wines by the btl were not excessive and there was a reasonable choice of modern and classic wines.
The bar can get crowded, particularly after 22:30 on days when all the theatres have shows on.

I stayed here last night with a work colleague and was more than impressed!!
We wanted something different than the usual hotel and this was definitely the best place we've stayed. We stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment on the 4th floor. It has everything we could need. The decor was modern, rooms were a fab size and clean. The receptionist was very warm and welcoming. The area was wonderfully quiet and only a short walk from the tube and shops. Ideally located as it's right by the London Eye on the South Bank. It's just a short walk from Waterloo tube or railway station and the Embankment tube isn't far away either.

I feel that this Premier Travel Inn is the best for families visiting London. Not only because it's most economical (and under 15's eat breakfast free) but the rooms here are very spacious. I've yet to located in a pokey room here. The walls are thick here (think this was an ex-Govt/Council building) so noise from neighbouring rooms isn't as bad as some modern hotels with paper thin walls.

The rooms are clean with the standard Premier Inn decor and facilities but this hotel offers a free luggage room. So, if you arrive early and they are unable to book you in, you can leave your luggage in their secure room, go off and explore without lugging bags around.

In the breakfast area there is a waiter at the door to check your room number or take payment (you can choose to pay for breakfast upon booking in or on the morning.) S/He will the show you to a table and explain the layout. This is a self-serice area which I've found to be less hectic than other Premier inn hotels. They offer a range of hot foods as well as toast, cereals, fruit, muffins etc with hot and cold drinks. Breakfast is extra here at Â£7.50 but it's eat as much as you want.

I always recommend this hotel to families as it's just so ideal. When my partner and i stay in London we opt for this hotel because of it's location. There are so many thinngs within easy reach (covent garden 25 min walk) and there are almost always street entertainers along the south bank. I never really enjoy my stay at Hiltons. I get this paranoid feeling that they're trying to rip me off... The Olympia was no exception.

On leaving our room in the morning we were greeted by the woman next door arguing with the waiter as she'd been charged Â£17.99 for scrambled egg on toast. He informed her that breakfast was this price, whatever the order.

It's a 3 star at best, the rooms are small and our view was of the dismal area in between the blocks - all pipes and grey. The staff are rubbish too.

It's location is a short walk from the Kensington High Street which is good, but it's in Zone 2 on the tube which is bad.

This is a great place to stay. It is cool for some star spotting, the whole of the Barbarian Rugby Team stayed there a few months ago! It is centrally placed for great shopping, close to a host of restaurants and theatres. The staff are very helpful, their call centre routes through to the states and UK companies could learn a lot from the helpful manner of the telephone team. Rooms are great, some are a bit on the small side, but even so the quality is excellent.

I stayed at this four star hotel on New Years Eve, as I was attending a group dinner at the Globe Restaurant on the top floor that night. (Great view, laughably inept service but friendly and apologetic.)

Wanting to book a room for later that same day, I initially rang the main reservations number for the Crown Plaza hotel group - a hub for bookings, based goodness knows where. I was told that the Shoreditch hotel was fully booked that night, but a hunch made me ring the hotel reception directly to check. Bingo! They were very surprised to hear that they were fully booked, and were pleased to offer me a room. You might want to try this trick yourself if you're booking at short notice and can't find any reduced rate deals online.

On arrival, I was a bit miffed to discover that I'd been allocated a smoking room. At my request, they moved me to a non-smoking double in a quiet location at the back of the building. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, although set up for business use which, as a New Years party-goer, I didn't need. Coming down for my coat just before midnight, I found my card-key had stopped working, so was obliged to see in the New Year out on the seventh floor rooftop terrace shivering like a jelly. Reception were later able to sort this out for me - the key, that is, not the shivering.

Breakfast the next morning, notwithstanding my hangover, was a delicious buffet affair. There was the traditional hot selection, toast, cereals, juices, and a continental selection of bread, cheeses and ham, plus croissants and pastries. I hardly knew where to start. Attracting the waiter's attention for more black coffee proved difficult though.

Note that their literature likes to suggest that the closest tube station is (the very attractive) Liverpool Street. The closest is actually (the hideously ugly) Old Street, which is worth knowing if you're lugging a suitcase.

All in all a comfortable if corporate hotel, with polite staff and a great view from the restaurant. The lack of single rooms is a travesty though - not only are none available, a room is the same price whether there's one or two of you using it. We stayed at the Hotel Russell for one night and found the rooms to be very small compared to the price that we paid. Dining area was fabulous and breakfast was a full English that we enjoyed. The Hotel Russell overlooks Russell square gardens which have excellent views but there can be quite a lot of traffic around there (typical of most of London however). Staff and lobby area were excellent. The hotel is also very close to Russell Square and Tottenham Court Road tube stations - handy for shopping and theatre breaks. We enjoyed a one night stay at the Kenilworth which is very convenient for the tube and shopping on Oxford Street.
This hotel is right next door to the British Museum and useful for museum buffs. The hotel is also near Tottenham Court Road tube station and Russell Square tube station.
The hotel is very inviting with excellent staff - quick check-in and very swish dining area named Creation. Our room was supposedly an upgrade to a King Size but we found the room very small compared to similar Radisson branded hotels. Some the decor needed attention - the shower cubicle appeared to have a section missing and a light did not work. THe Air Conditioning is very noisy at this hotel. However, for the convenience, this is an excellent hotel for shopping in central London. The elevator requires a key card which can be tricky to operate.We enjoyed a one night stay at the Kenilworth which is very convenient for the tube and shopping on Oxford Street.

However, for the convenience, this is an excellent hotel for shopping in central London. The elevator requires a key card which can be tricky to operate.

I have given this 5 stars for what it is, not because it is five star luxury!
This is your basic hostel but what a hostel! Cheap and cheerful to the max! You get what you pay for! Basic rooms with bunk beds and lockers, basic showers and amenities. Not basic fun and service! It's excellent! The staff are all so helpful, everyone is friendly..as per usual in a hostel! Tere is a small licensed club downstairs and internet facilities which are reasonably priced!
This place isn't luxurious or beautifully decorated but it's fun, it's cheap, it's clean, it's in London and the staff will help you all you want. If you want a five star hotel with fluffy towels and room service..forget it! if you want somewhere cheap, basic and safe to stay in London while sightseeing..and you don't mind sharing a room ( although you can get rooms to yourself etc if booked well in advance)...this is the place to go!can't believe this hasn't been reviewed already!

The Travelodge chainare dotted all over the United Kindom, with branches on almost all motor ways and near all major cities.

They provide a comfortable bed for the night, tea and coffee making facilities, a good shower and sometimes a bath too.

The reception staff are friendly and will do as much as they can to make your stay pleasant. They even offer a breakfast basket to be delivered to your room, but the price for this is quite steep.

In real terms, Jurys Inn Chelsea is not in Chelsea, and its location is probably its only downside. However, the upside is the price, and is almost certainly a follow-on factor from the downside. Buses run from the road on which it's situated, however, tube stations are within 10 minutes walk if necessary. The area itself is relatively quiet and feels safe.

The interior of the hotel is clean and modern - it's not going to win awards, but it's a comfortable place to spend a night. The staff are also friendly, and happy to help.
