hi guys! if you are thinking about coming and living at new mansion house in lancaster gate london, you must be aware of what happened to me!
I was forced to live for 2 months with a french woman alcoholic and drug addicted that ripetitively urinated on the carpet of the room and was not evicted till i was nearly there to call the police!
This is not the only problem I had there, I had scabies and the food is always the same and crap! The hygine too is not good, there are cockroaches and dumps of rubbish in the corridors!

I've no idea what the hotel is like, I hope it's lovely, but I went into their bar for a few drinks at an event and was horrified. Â£4.50 for a bottle of larger form the fridge, plus a 12% service charge. Thats 12% covers the cost of having a for a quiff touting failed male model who ignores you, finally takes your order, sniffs at not getting to show off his bar flair because you only ordered a beer and then opens the bottle and places it on a napkin on the bar top.

The actual room itself (sorry - two rooms - there is an annex at the back for events) are about the size of my hotel room, brightly lit with low hanging lightbulbs, and amazingly noisy because the walls are paneled. There was food available, but given that a gin and tonic was nearly a tenner all in, I couldn't have afforded the petit-pois on ryetoast, or whatever nu-cuisine rubbish they were selling.I've no idea what the hotel is like, I hope it's lovely, but I went into their bar for a few drinks at an event and was horrified. i cant even give this place a rating,we booked to stay overnight with our children before going to Paris,we never stayed, what dose that tell you? Should have take photos and sent them to public health and the fire service the place is a death trap! Interestingly enough I lived in short term accommodation in Roland House for 7 months last year! Glad to see that you can now rent the flats for a shorter period of time.

Roland House is a nice building on a lovely lovely road - it's a bit far away from the tube but close enough to lots of great places to eat and shop.

I lived in a studio flat with my husband - it was large enough for both of us (barely) but comfortable. The furniture was up to date and clean and I really liked the (bijou) bathroom.

The main drawback was that the kitchen area was very very small with room only for two rings and a microwave - by the end of our stay I was craving lasagne and other oven-baked dishes like crazy! There is also almost no room to prepare food in one of the studio flats - if I could go back in time I would've rented one of the larger units to have a better kitchen.

The studio flats don't have their own clothes washing facility but there is a basement laundry room - make sure to pick your times though as it's popular!

For the entire 7 months that I was there I was really impressed by the friendly staff, who looked after us well and were very accomodating. I recently stayed at Umi and had a wonderful stay there. I found the staff to be extremely helpful and welcoming and the concierge was able to offer me useful information and answer all of my questions. I ate a delicious breakfast every morning in the delightful Yumi Coffee Shop where they offer a variety of different English breakfasts, among other things - including all day snacks and treats. And the bar/restaurant, 1356, serves superior quality meals while providing an exceptionally pleasant dining atmosphere. Umi can accommodate small and large groups of travellers for business or leisure with rooms that have up to four single beds. The overall vibe is cool and casual and the location is trendy and fun, attracting countless younger travellers and groups of students. I very highly recommend this hotel if youâ¬"re in search of a conveniently located London hotel with spectacular service where you can have a pleasant stay for a reasonable price!

Very difficult to find just past a new development of this harbour, Jury's Inn is a good, bargain hotel that, though part of a cheap hotel chain like travelodge, holiday inn etc, feels a bit more up-market. Very comfortable rooms with good sized bathrooms, big windows with panoramic views of london and a whole floor designed by laura ashley make this hotel a good place to spend the night in london on a budget. The night I went this new hotel had no hot water, instead of putting me off this brought out the friendly and helpful nature of the staff who even offered to transfer us to the heathrow branch of the hotel if we couldnt do without hot water. Moreover they were patient with us as we ordered 3 different takeaways from the surrounding area to our room. We stayed there last night and we're disgusted. we paid Â£75 for a triple room which was a case of cramming a double and single bed into a tiny room. Upon arrival we were starred at by a foreign sounding man at reception who clearly did nt want to be there. he shoved a piece of paper at me to fill in to check in. He then said we were in the other building so taken outside and pointed in the direction of a wooden door next to some sort of kebab house. we were warned to be careful as they accept no responsibility for any loss which set alarm bells ringing. we got inside where it was just 3 floors of corridors and went down to the basement where our room was. once inside, we found the smoke detector was stuffed with toilet roll, the last guests rubbish was left on the dressing table, the beds didnt match and the window didnt lock. the plug was clogged in the shower so kept having to turn it off to avoid completely flooding the bathroom. the tv had 1 channel which played across numbers 1-4 and 5 didnt work. outside the window was masses of rubbish, disgusting. amazingly when we came back from our night out we still had all our belongings which we really did not expect. the room was freezing though and the only bed covers were a sheet and a felt blanket so no good nights sleep. i would not recommend staying here...We stayed there last night and we're disgusted. we paid Â£75 for a triple room which was a case of cramming a double and single bed into a tiny room. Claridge's oozes old school luxury and is a fun place to have go for tea or meet up with people.

I met there yesterday and feel compelled to share the extra-ordinary sight of their hot chocolate. Here we go:

A Claridge's hot chocolate:
- 1 jug of thick, luxurious & hot chocolate
- 1 jug of warm milk
- A skewer of lightly flame-toasted marshmallows (bit of a bonus - dip away...)
- A few delicated looking biscuits thrown in for good measure

I am not a hot-chocolate fiend but I cannot imagine a more pucca or tasty hot chocolate in London or on the ski-slopes for that matter.

Luxury doesn't come cheap though...Claridge's oozes old school luxury and is a fun place to have go for tea or meet up with people.

Sitting right in the middle of the Strand, just across the road from the Savoy, The Strand Palace is an eight floor hotel which is about as close to the theaters as it's possible to be (so long as that theater is the one currently showing Joseph).

Despite the very shiny reception area, and the coated doorman opening the unfeasibly heavy front doors, it is however far from a palace. The hallways are quite shabby, with the plywood panel doors being badly scratched and the carpets looking pretty tired. The rooms are densely packed, and it's quite noisy.

My room is a "deluxe double" and is about twelve square with a small bathroom attached. It does have proper wooden shutters through which help keep out the noise of the street below more than curtains would be.

So, its far from a luxury stay, and for the same money you could stay in some much nicer places, but probably not quite as handy for the city centre.

Rooms can be booked with or without the excellent buffet style breakfast. Also dinner at the Hilton Restaurant can be included in your room booking. However, plenty of restaurants such as Thai Sqaure, ASK Pizza or Pizza Express can be found in the neigbourhood.

You probably get the best rates when booking online, but be prepared that your credit card will be charged directly once the room is confirmed.

Be prepared that the room rates can be quite expensive when a fair or similar event takes place in the adjacent Business Design Centre.

This looked like a great deal until we saw that we can't reserve a 2-night stay (or any less than 7!) until a week before our visit. Actually I thought City View Hotel was a rather affordable and good choice for my stay in November in London just until today when I checked by savings account. I turns out that just two days after salary three transactions were made that Im confident I know nothing about. Thinking back, this hotel required full information on my card details to fullfill the booking and I am totally sure that the employees of this hotel took advantage of this for their own bookings of flight tickets over X-mas. Totally unacceptable. My 4 cheap hotel nights ended up not being so cheap after all. Using 675 pound extra I could have upgraded to a luxury hotel instead. How fooled I was!
Please boycott this hotel!

The e bar is the basement provision of The Colonnade Townhouse (part of the Eton Connection Group) which provides superior (yet relaxed) amenities for a discerning clientele.

The service is attentive, personable and discrete in equal measures.

The facilities are all, and more than you would anticipate.

St Giles is located near almost everything you need to get around.

The rooms arenÂ´t very big, and also donÂ´t have snack bars.
The only place where you can use wifi is on the reception floor... and isnÂ´t free!!

I was booked into the Novotel London Waterloo for an overnight business trip. On the plus side, the room was spacious and comfortable. However, both checking in and checking out took an unconscionable length of time - check in was delayed by missing information, and check out by a graceless member of staff who denied knowledge of the arrangements that I had made less than eight hours earlier. Worse yet was ordering a room service breakfast, knowing that I had to leave early, and it never turning up, despite a phone call to query. When I raised this at check out, I was told that these things happen, and was offered no apology. Walking out of a hotel hungry and irritated is a poor start to the day, and I would not recommend this hotel.I was booked into the Novotel London Waterloo for an overnight business trip. We booked a weekend package at the City Inn Westminster to spend a couple of days Christmas shopping. I was extremely impressed. The hotel was clean and stylish, and though the room was certainly on the small side of cosy, it was perfectly appointed and very comfortable. Our weekend package included bed and breakfast (extremely good), along with complimentary champagne and canapes on the first night, plus a free drink each for every day we stayed, and a few other extras such as newspapers. However, one of the main attractions was a late checkout (4pm) on Sunday which meant that we could make the most of the day. The staff were extremely helpful at all times. It's also extremely convenient for Waterloo, the Tate and other local attractions, and Pimlico and Westminster offer good Underground links. Amazing nice bathroom. Can't say the same for the bedroom, unfortunately. The staff were very friendly and helpful though they weren't able to resolve my issue with the heating (the remote control was missing). I had only eaten in the breakfast/dinning room and while the breakfast was good, I won't have paid for it if it weren't company expensed. Room service was fast but not enough choices.

All in all, fine hotel to stay in but the building/decor isn't my style.Amazing nice bathroom. Can't say the same for the bedroom, unfortunately. I got this room for Â£49, so i wasn't really expecting much! I couldn't believe the size of the room we were given, it had two rooms, five bads, a three piece suite a tv with dvd player and full sized fridge. I had read some reviews saying that there were cockroaches, but it was scrupulously clean, not a speck of dust! There was also a bar, which is open till 3 in the mornings, (but not on Sunday when we went), which looked lovely from the pictures. I will be going back. I got this room for Â£49, so i wasn't really expecting much! I couldn't believe the size of the room we were given, it had two rooms, five bads, a three piece suite a tv with dvd player and full sized fridge. I had read some reviews saying that there were cockroaches, but it was scrupulously clean, not a speck of dust! There was also a bar, which is open till 3 in the mornings, (but not on Sunday when we went), which looked lovely from the pictures. Ok so I've heard all the blah blah about this place. I've seen Britney and co falling out the door to the waiting paps. And Iâ¬"ve seen the many magazine mentions the place has got. So as you can imagine I had high hopes.

Maybe too high?

Got to the front door and all was well. The usual snobby front of house staff. Can't imagine why. They look like they were dressed at DP's? All cheap black clothes ok Iâ¬"m the snob now, but a girl has high standards.

Next came the walk to my room...make that the looong walk. After the third turn it felt like the opening credits of prisoner cell block H. Get me to the safety of my room quick.

Finally got to a small all white room (still have the prison cell feeling. hmmm) Ok so they laid out the place well. But does the price tag justify this? Me thinks not.

Good if - you're not paying the bill, fancy a light breezy room for a hot summer in the city, need somewhere in the centre of town.

Bad if - you want bags of luxury style, looking to impress, save a bob or three.

All in all 8/10.
