My son and I are from Denmark and have stayed in Finsbury Park a couple of times now for our holiday in London (and we're coming back) and one of the things we dream of and long for when we are back in DK, is this bakery â"¥
The donuts are simply to die for, and the service is allways smiling and nice!

Rating: 3.00Leaflet dropped through local doors November 24 2009. No phone number yet. Breads and bagels and rolls are on sale. Breads include white and brown;rye; with walnut; with sultanas; with olives.
Jolly Kashka (friendly Polish girl with great smile) served. They give you a glove to select your unwrapped bread and rolls from the baskets.
They will be selling cakes, biscuits and coffee later this week or next.
The bare bricks I imagine are meant to add to the rustic feel. To me it just looks unfinished and means you scratch your skin or clothes if you fall against the walls - and no way of cleaning them. But I'm sure some people will love it. Your food is presented in a paper carrier bag.
Anyway, we bought several items. The small rolls were rather dry and chewy. The bigger bread which we cut in half to put in the freezer seemed more moist. I think most people, like us, will rush in to try them immediately. But things might be a lot better once they've sorted themselves out. I'll go back again later when they offer more choice and have had more practice. What we thought was a walnut roll had lost the walnut off the top and had none inside. The sultana roll was sweet in the mouth - either from the sultanas or the glaze and after I'd added butter and cream cheese much more of a moist mouthful for high tea.

This place is getting five stars because it is one of the few shops open 24 Hours within walking distance of my chiswick abode.

The guys who work here are always alert despite the trials of long hours and various drunk punters with a variety of attitude problems.

It is nice to be able to get an emergency pint of milk and a loaf of bread at any hour of the day.
Prices are actually a lot better than some of the other bigger local convenience stores but variety of stock is not great.

'Best One' seem to have a very unusual policy on pricing.

There are no labels on items so they make it up as they go along. I am not entirely sure this is legal.

On occasion for FOUR items I saw the man on the till ring up FIVE prices includig a "15p" invisible bonus for himself.

When asked for a reciept he quickly keyed in 4 random numbers to get the same amount and handed me that.

A futher time he rang the items up and when I handed him the amount said he had keyed it in wrong and wanted more money.
That was the last time I ever used this "convenience" store. That was 2008.

Peggy's Cupcakes are the best cupcakes I've found in London. They are beautifully decorated and presented and taste heavenly, not dry like most others. They have a range of seasonal flavours alongside favourites like vanilla, lemon and chocolate. The carrot, ginger and walnut was to die for! Rating: 4.00'Ealing Kebab' is one of the many outlets that serve Kebabs on Uxbridge Road. There is an unusual Persian cusine influence that gives it a somewhat unique "twist" on the old favourites.

I opted to have the Lamb Shish as the Donner roll was just been changed. The meat was GOOD, tasty with that slightly smokey flavour yet still tender. The Salad was dressed well and had a nice colourful variety to it. Some might find the red Cabbage a little too vinegary though. The Chilli Sauce was nice, if a little unusual somehow, perhaps spiced Persian style...? It was served fresh from a silver bowl that was placed just above the clear glass chilled cabinet with the Meats and salad so was room temprature - which is preferable to a cold Chilli Sauce! The Garlic sauce was not to my liking with sour vinegary overtones. The Bread was a freshly made flat bread that was more akin to Tandoori Roti than Pita, Village or Nan breads. Sometimes this kind of bread can go hard quickly but it was warm and soft as I ate inside the restaurant on this occasion.
The server was helpful, attentive and friendly and only lost points because he recommended a Â£5.99 meal como with Fries & a drink which actually cost me more as I only had a small shish instead of the (Large?) Donner in the picture.

Ealing has a great deal of Kebab Shops and the high quality and Persian variation mean 'Ealing Kebab' can be included in a small list of truly great Kebabaries that serve the West London area. Having tried all of their espresso based drinks and their black coffee (Americano), I have settled on â¬Üdry cappuccinoâ¬" as my beverage of choice, although all their drinks are fantastic and they probably do make the best Americano Iâ¬"ve had in London. Their house espresso blend has a nice intensity, lots of chocolate on the palate and is very smooth, with an almost velvety mouth feel. To me, it has a lovely rich, round flavor that beautifully balances the sweeter fruity notes with a not-too-harsh streak of acidity. Paired with the dense and luxurious yet butterfly-light foam from Monmouthâ¬"s organic milk to balance the just slightly bitter tannic undertones of the espresso, it is a very competent, highly enjoyable espresso drink and does the trick for me every time.

The gist of it: Their drinks are consistently good, and I just like the charm of the place and the impressive knowledge and passion of most of the staff. I mean, they have a wooden bench and table for one person â¬ how quirky and great is that? They also sell a wide range of coffee beans that are painstakingly sourced from around the world and can tell you all about the differences between them. There is normally a long queue if you donâ¬"t know what times to go, but I like that itâ¬"s on a little street in Covent Garden, that remains slightly funky and has a nice vibe and independent streak about it. With increasingly long queues snaking around this meat loverâ¬"s paradise in East Dulwich, it was only a matter of time before they opened another outpost. So William Roseâ¬"s new flagship store on East Dulwich Grove is good news for field and feather fans who will surely flock to this fantastic local store.

Only 16 butchers in London hold a QSM (Quality Standard Meat rating) and William Rose is one of them. Itâ¬"s easy to see why.

It stocks the renowned Scotch Premier brand, which has earned international acclaim for its naturally reared, high quality beef, lamb, pork and venison.

The staff make a delicious variety of sausages on site, as well as creating a mix of mouth-watering marinades for plump birds and lean lambs alike.

Quality of produce assured, itâ¬"s the personal service that really makes this place stand out. We recently asked for a roasting joint of beef for a special family reunion. A debate raged among three members of staff before settling on the best piece, and we were even offered a remarkable offer of our money back if we didnâ¬"t enjoy it. The refreshing level of concern for customer satisfaction in the food business is elsewhere becoming rarer than a blue steak. Naturally, the beef made the best home-made roast our clan had ever sampled.

You can also rely on sage advice for your purchases. Whether itâ¬"s straightforward cooking times and methods, or more creative recipe ideas, ask and you will undoubtedly receive.

I recently was looking for some squab for a recipe (they didnâ¬"t have that day but offered to order in) and gladly settled on partridge instead. William Rose gamely offered a range of inspiring recipe ideas. The upshot was that I left the store buzzing with ideas and keen to go back in for more.
