Screen 1 at the Curzon Mayfair is one of the best cinema screens in London. And being part of the small Curzon chain, the cinema has tons of character. I recently went to The Funny Side with a few friends; we all work close by and were looking for a 'different' form of entertainment from the usual Thursday night drink!

I didn't even realise there was a Comedy Venue anywhere in the City, so I was delighted when I discovered this place in St. Paul's.

It is located downstairs in The Spectator, a lovely bar not far from St. Paul's tube station, the staff are very welcoming and helpful and the food is delicious (I had a Spectator Special and have never had a burger quite like it)!

The comedy show itself was hilarious. They have 3 acts and a MC who talks to the audience and gets you 'warmed up', they even do a joke competition for the audience and the person who wins gets a bottle of bubbly. Unfortunately I wasn't funny enough on this occasion, but will try harder next time!

So yes...I will definitely go back. In fact we are making it a monthly event in my office AND we are having our Christmas Party there!

due to unforseen circumstances the lee evans venue layout was changed beyond our control.
every customer that purchased lee evans tickets from us were contacted to send us there tickets back as we needed to re-issue new tickets for the new event layout.

due to further complications we were unable to provide some customers with new tickets, however these customers were refunded in full and offered an upgrade on any future purchase with ourselves.

so i dont know who you were tryin to contact!

in any case if your were not able to get in touch with us via phone or email this was only caused by high call volumes and we apologise for any inconvience this caused!

This annual event is one of the biggest street festivals in Europe. I went for the first time last year having said for years that I would go. Unless you have young uns make sure you go on monday as this is main day with the huge costumes and parades. Sunday is a designated family day and is a bit toned down for my liking. With a parade 20 miles long make sure you don't miss out. With an earlier start time than usual of 9am get there early to get a good spot. We were here last night (21 July) for their all-male cast of Pirates of Penzance, and this theatre is quickly becoming one of my favourates. The place is small (about 50 seats), but they have no pretensions and use what they have very well - that is to say minimally, which really lets their talented casts shine. If you enjoy musical theatre and are getting a bit bored with all the standards in the West End, come down to this place and enjoy a step back to what good musical theatre is all about. Imaginative staging, fantastic talent and a sense of fun. I love the Royal Opera House, I have seen many many ballets & opera's here- Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute, La Traviata, Un Ballo, Tosca, The Barber of Seville, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, Ondine & have recently bought a 'Total opera' package for the upcoming Autumn operas... However I think people have the wrong idea about the ROH, its NOT horribly expensive to get a ticket- you can get some very resonsable priced seats in the Amphitheatre & slips for all performances- I paid Â£9 to La Traviata & Tosca in the upper slips seat DD21, and Â£12.50 to see the Barber of Seville in W61- these prices make it not that much dearer than the cinema (actually cheaper than the West End cinema prices!). They never have anyone off the telly and there is always a couple of dud acts but all in all the standard is pretty high. Some of the regular performers are really hilarious (the stuff that comes out of their mouths is filthy) but Bobby and Luke, who run it every week, make sure there are always a couple of new faces on the bill -some are really strange. The last comedian is always excellent. Expect to be crammed in as there are a few seats and the place gets packed out. The Science Museum itself is a massive place and has a great exhibition. IMAX is set at the back of the museum and it's a few minutes walk. It does give you the chance to see some of the displays.
To get to the theatre you need to climb up quite a few steps. The theatre is big and comfortable, the screen is massive (approx 4 double decker busses). Seats are comfy and there's enough leg room for those lucky people with long legs. Sound system is clear and loud. No food or drink allowed.
Make sure you make your way to the theatre earlier to grab good seats, otherwise you'll get stuck on the side seats and the screening won't be as good of an experience.
All in all, it's worth visiting as you can make the day out of it. Don't forget to see the exhibition and finish it off with a good cup of coffee and a piece of cake. I really like it here. It reminds me a bit of going to the cinema as a child, possibly because the seats and furnishings probably haven't changed much since the 70s. That is completely the charm of the place - it looks like somewhere Alvy Singer might have taken Annie Hall on a date. I hope that it doesn't change too much in the coming years, because it really has a lovely retro feel and as part of the Curzon chain, shows pretty flawless films.

A wonderful escape from the hustle of the King's Road on a weekend when you want (or need) your hard earned cash to remain in your wallet, and surely deserves to be a credit-crunch favourite, even for the well-heeled folk of Chelsea.I really like it here. Everything about Bush Hall is wonderful. The gigs, the bar, the music school next door, it is also a great place for a party too. I simply love the shepherds bush empire. Not only is it local to me, it also the best place to see your musical crush. No seriously! If you ever want to see a musical act that you fancy this is the place to see them. Itâ¬"s small enough you feel like they are singing to you personally (not the other 1999 people in the venue). The down side is if the act on stage does not come prepared to rock the house youâ¬"ll be heading straight home to take the posters down.

Other than stalker appeal this, the empire always has a great line-up of up and coming acts.

I had the severe misfortune of having to attend a two-day conference here for work this week. The conference itself would have been absolutely fine, had it not been based at this glorified airplane hangar.

Spending a few hours here is reminiscent of being trapped in a provincial airport all day long, without the fun of a new destination awaiting you at the end of your ordeal. For starters, it is in a terrible location, reached only by a cold and ugly DLR station which doesn't even bear its name (well, not properly!) and situated opposite some particularly nasty-looking low-rent chain hotels. It doesn't help that I can't take much of the DLR, but it seemed to take absolutely forever to get there each morning. It got me thinking - what a terrible first impression of our marvellous city for visitors coming to conferences here. Even worse, what if they picked the hotels situated near to the conference centre to stay in? It doesn't bear thinking about, frankly.

Anyway, back to the centre. The rooms were shabby, cold, and noise travelled throughout the entire building every time a place took off from London City Airport. At the same time as my conference, the centre was hosting Gordon Ramsay's Taste event (how much more money/publicity does that pug-faced pottymouth need?) and a warehouse full of those depressing little metal square tables for a thousand students taking their ACCA exams. Still, it's the people who have to get up every day and come to work here that I feel most sorry for.

I could go on, but I think you get the gist. Avoid.

I've been to this theatre a few times now and each time I go, the production is completely different.
