Probably the nicest of the Liverpool cinemas, it has a nice creative modern feel, with a little cafe and shop on the ground floor and a bar on the second bar then refreshments for your film as you go in the third floor. As well as showing current cinema films, there are plenty of interesting documentaries and european/foreign exhibitions. The "box" on the bottom floor is a unique screen with sofas, probably great for couples if you want to snuggle. A nice addition to your regular cinema. In summary, FACT has got your basic cinema needs, with a bit more invention, and a bit of a fancy quirk.FACT stands for Film, Art & Creative Technology and is literally that. The gallery, which has moved location three times before, is due to relocate to the waterfront in 2009.

Although Open Eye Gallery was one of the UK's first photography galleries and still primarily focuses on photography, its exhibitions also include video and film installations. Recent exhibitions have featured work related to Liverpool and nearby: I enjoyed "The Water's Edge" portraits of women who have worked around the Liverpool waterfront. The coming exhibition as part of Liverpool Biennial 08 will again focus on local people - workers at the Jaguar car plant in Halewood.

The gallery often features exhibitions developed in collaboration with other organisations such as Liverpool Biennial, Liverpool Arabic Arts Festival, FACT, National Museums Liverpool, so that a whole programme of connected cultural activity can be accessed across the city.

This is a small gallery in comparison to others in the city, but is well worth a visit. In spring 2009 they will move to new premises at Mann Island where they plan to increase their exhibition space, develop workshops and courses in photography, and expand their programme of screenings and talks.Open Eye Gallery is a photography gallery established in 1977 and currently located on Wood Street in the city centre. The World Museum was on our list of places to visit as it had an interesting exhibition called 'the beat goes on 'as part of Liverpool European Capital of Culture This alone made it well worth the visit it had a comprehensive selection of images sounds and objects showing the huge range of bands that have been part of the livrpool music scene this plus a wide range of galleries with exhibits from space to the eygptians made it an enjoyable visit, all that and it was free to get in (although we did manage to spend a few quid in the gift shop and cafe)A few doors down from the Walker Art gallery in William Brown Street in the centre of Liverpool just a short walk from Lime Street Station.
