This place used to always be part of the Saturday night bar crawl round the city centre, especially for its choice of cheap shots. They have a massive menu of shots, all made up of different flavours and colours. They are all quite fun and make a good feature for the night out. I think they do deals if you buy a few at a time (i might be wrong, but i'm sure they have some offers on a tickertape screen above the bar). The bar always gets packed at the weekend, it is on a couple of levels. The interior is a bit messy but fun, with disco balls and bright colours everywhere. This is the ultimate in cinema experience. The FACT is a grat place to go, they have mainstream films on as well as lesser known specials, usually accompanied by a talk by someone involved in the film, which can be very educational!
The bar is great, nice relaxed atmosphere and lots of comfy places to sit. Have a great selection of drinks( yes you can take alcohol into the film with you!) and is reasonably priced, maybe a bit more than other bars and cinemas but it's worth it. The chairs in the cinema are so comfy, and the screens are a decent size and you can see no matter where you sit. Would really recommend, so much nicer than normal cinemas!This is the ultimate in cinema experience. Flares is great if you're up for a lugh. They play great 70's tunes, and the DJ ( dressed in funky 70's flares and sometimes a giant afro) will play requests all night long! Has a groovy multicoloured dancefloor and lots of shiny disco balls!
The staff do routines, and there's a great stage with mirrors and even a pole! If you're not in a dancing mood there are couches and stools, and there's some arcade machines to keep you amused! there are two bars, and they have plenty of offers on during the week. At weekends its 2pound to get in, but again the prices are cheap and shots are even cheaper! Plus you can get jugs of cocktails, and lots of 70's merchandise!Flares is great if you're up for a lugh. Lloyds is a great place to go, whether in the day for a meal or quiet drink or a night out. The meals are cheap and cheerful, and the drinks are great prices, and they don;t change the prices just beacuse it's a weekend!
It's open late of a Sat and Sun, and although it's about two pound to get in, it's always full and plays great music and has chairs if you want to sit or a giant dancefloor if you want to dance!
It's usually well staffed too, so no long queues, and the toilets are always clean and there's never a queus as there's loads of them! There is 3different parts to the barfly.The masque venue bit is a little hall,which has a different entrance to the normal barfly bit!
I think this is the best out of all three.
Its a tiny stage,which lots of stairs heading up to a bar.Great place to see the bands from all area's.
The other Bit is in the main barfly bit,its upstairs and the bar is 1side and the stage is the other side of the wall.I find the wall is really annyoing,as you cant just chill out by the bar. Its gets very hot and stuffy in this place,as its just a hall with four walls.I dont like this place when its packed,you cant even move.
The bar is very expenisive in all 3 of this seperate halls, but its part of the carling academy,so the prices are always dear!
The other room is by the main bar,its more for acoustic sets!theres comfy sofa ands its great to chill out.
