Rating: 5.00Should you find your taste buds aching for a novel culinary sensation, then look no further than the Lincoln Kebab House. The moment their glossy brochure floated through the letter box, we were dazzled by the plethora of meat and chip combinations. Some examples will ably demonstrate the sheer mind-boggling variety on offer at this jewel of take away gastronomy: â¬ÜMeat & chips, doner meat & chips, chicken doner meat & chips, unspecified meat & chips; chips, chips with cheese, chips with mushrooms, chips with cheese & mushrooms, chips with chips & cheese & mushrooms, garlic chips with chips & cheese & mushrooms, garlic chips with garlic chips & garlic cheese & garlic mushrooms, garlic with garlic meat, etc: a miracle of invention to be sure, and so reasonably priced ⬠a special meal offer was available, and even though this could not be used in conjunction with any other offer, we enjoyed the one delicious meal we were allowed. After merely fifteen torturous garbled telephone minutes, we finally managed to communicate our postcode, and were promised a new level of cuisine within the hour. It duly arrived, and we were delighted to discover we had opted for the â¬Üunspecified chickenesque meat with boiled chips & (what looked like rhinoceros bile) white sauce combination with garlic concrete in a hermetically sealed plastic tub sporting a stapled- on chilled pita bread cover, meal + 1 x Ribenaâ¬". This, we were assured, was â¬Üfoodâ¬", which had been grilled in front of a â¬Üspitfireâ¬" ⬠classic aeronautic cordon bleu. We marveled at the feast in prospect⬦⬦ Five hours, three chips and one indeterminate lump later, we reverently placed the 3 kilo remnant in the bin, happy in the certainty that £15 had been well spent. Rating: 3.00Well I've never really been in a bad Subway because let's face it so long as they don't thoroughly cock your order up you can't make a Subway taste bad and this is no exception, the food is great. The service however does leave a little to be desired.

Now granted I've only been this particular Subway once but the girl who was taking the orders was sooooo rude to the boy in front of us. He was with his girlfriend who had ordered hers and she said 'next please' he didn't reply so me and OH ordered ours. When we got to the salad section he said he was next and she had a massive go at him because he didn't say before, it wasn't even as if he was complaining about it, he knew it was his fault, so I thought she was a little out of order. Rating: 5.00I've seen many places lay the claim that they are the best fish and chips, but this place actually has the best fish and chips I have ever had. I had the haddock and chips with mushy peas and it was absolutely delicious. It must be quite popular as well because the queue was out the door. It's a very nice clean take away as well-- not like the ones where you really question the health and safety standards.

The fish I had was absolutely massive and the mushy peas were just right! Rating: 3.00This place is located right at the brayford end of carholme road, just over the road from the Horse and Groom. It's your typical late night takeaway pizza and kebab place really, which are always good on the way home.

They have "happy hour" deals, which actually last a lot longer than an hour, before 5pm or so, which is normally very good value if you are on a budget and want some hot food (students then)

Thre's a crappy little tv in the corner to keep you amused and about 3 chairs so it's state of teh art entertainment facilities while waiting for your gourmet meal.This place is located right at the brayford end of carholme road, just over the road from the Horse and Groom.
