I was a regular here as a student - quite a few years back now - but pop in now and agaain and it's still as great as ever.

Very abrupt service from some fairly surly waiters. They messed up our bill and left us stood at the till for ages without so much as an apology. Rating: 1.00Just wanted to inform people that in the shabab express i believe i have found probably the worst indian food i have ever had .
We arrived on a Sat in Oct at 7 and there was 8 people dining . My partner and I ordered bhuna prawn on puri and the "highly recommended" Haleeb .The 5 tiny prawns in a red sauce accompanied by some limp salad and a puri that had the texture of a deep fried paper plate missed the mark , and the haleeb consisted of thin brown water with a few beans in the bottom of the bowl .. absolutely awful.. but we soldiered on . For mains we ordered chicken Rogan and chicken Vindaloo both came and looked , smelled and tasted identical .. Campbells tomato soup springs to mind. I had asked for the vindaloo to be HOT!! but to no avail . I asked the waiter to take it away and bring me what i had asked for ... enter the manager . who informed me that they dont use FRESH ingredients to spice up curries and that he would take the old dish away chuck a few handfuls of chilli powder in it and that was that. The result was the original curry i had been brought , loaded with chill powder , not cooked out so it was bitter and inedible .. i was appalled , a rude manager and inedible food . The people on the next table to us had also returned food so it wasnt just us . The only thing Express about this place is the speed you want to get out. Been a while since I've been but thought everything was okay. I think the seafood is better from Livebait and so is the atmosphere.

This restaurant is plain awful, even trying to complain is impossible as their email address doesnt work, anyway just to say that the food was poor, my 3 year old could of cooked with more competance, everything tasted like it came out of a microwaved frozen packet, the service was terrible, after 10 minutes of trying to get the waitresses attention we ended up just going to the manager to pay, theier idea of catering to children is giving them a GLASS full of very tiny crayons to draw on a paper menu, (classy) I will never eat there again, I do recall going about 2 years ago and it was never this bad. I agree, he must be thinking of the wrong place :)

Every time I've visited, I have had a wonderful time. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is really lovely and the place is tastefully decorated, there's a lot to look at in terms of traditional Persian art and ornaments, and there's a homely feel about the place, nothing too clinical.
The kitchen is within the restaurant, so without it being too noisy you can see your food being prepared in the big bread oven, and the food itself is frankly amazing. The meat is so tender and juicy, but since I've become a vegetarian I've found that the veggie options are no less delicious and there is a wide variety too.
I must note that the rice is mouth-watering, the best I've ever had - it separates really nicely and you get a nice portion of saffron-infused rice too (an absolute must in middle-eastern cuisine, nothing quite like it). And I don't even like rice that much!
If you're going to visit Darvish, I'd recommend the Ghormeh Sabzi - a dish with loads of tasty green herbs with tender diced lamb, or for vegetarians, gorgeous steamed mushrooms, and it's served with a whole dried lime just to give it extra flavour (but don't eat that, i learnt the hard way). Also, the Saffron ice-cream for dessert is to die for (such a versatile spice!)
The price is very reasonable, and I can afford to treat myself to a Darvish once a week of whenever I like - and I will never get bored.

Went last night for a girls tea & had a fantastic meal!
The waiters were great and helped recommend various dishes suitable to our varying taste buds!!
The restaurant is beatuifully decorated and we loved the water feature.
The food was delicious & possibly one of the nicest curries I've had. I couldn't fault the food or the service and will definately be returning and telling all my friends to go!Went last night for a girls tea & had a fantastic meal!

Moortown Tandoori is the best quality curry I have eaten from any takeaway anywhere. The service is great and I got a loyalty card.

I absolutely love Thai Erawan. The service is so good it is more like visiting friends than going out for dinner. I've been eating here for about 3 years and it is my favourite. The food is outstanding, I sometimes just ask for the waitress to recommend something and I order that. The gentleman who owns the restaurant is really friendly and the waitress has become more like a friend. She is always amazingly friendly and very welcoming.

The inside of the restaurant is relaxed, traditional and has a nice atmosphere. This is in my opinon the best restaurant in LeedsI absolutely love Thai Erawan. I love this restaurant, the food is delicious and the staff are friendly and polite. There is plenty of choice and great value for money. They even do deliveries so you can enjoy the food indoors at home if you prefer. They have a function room downstairs which is fab.. I'm having my hen party there. I think this is one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to for fantastic food and value for money. OK it isn't luxurious, but it's clean, simple and the food is delicious.
