Virgin Active just off city centre is a pretty good gym- it has no complaints here!

Prices are about average but they do run promotions and offers. Pool is a good size as is the gym, the place is quite large and there is never much of a wait for the machines.

Staff can be a little pushy at times especially with upselling but they are very helpful and know what they are doing in terms of the machines and stuff.

Regular classes are run ie spinning, yoga etc which are fun to do and a great way of meeting people.

I do not like to give a bad review. However, Nicky Clarke's attitude to customer service is appalling. Whilst stylists are friendly they are too rushed to be able to offer a decent service with clients booked in one after the other without space for proper consultation or styling time. This means that time is wasted as a result of a lack of communication between client and hairdresser.

Which is a shame as i really want to like Nicky Clarke's. It is a new salon, there are some very skilled professionals here, its just a shame that there is not enough time to manage clients properly. the pricing is also very expensive for the lack of personal service, and often stylists find themselves double booked with appointments and consultations overlapping.
