Used to be one of my fav hangouts but the drinks prices have now gone through the roof!

Went in for a quick meal on my way home from work as I thought I'd try out some local pubs; one a week.

As soon as I arrived I was rushed along by a manager (someone in a white, instead of black shirt) and had to order food quickly even though the pub was empty. I told the manager about allergies to dairy to which he offered me a Tandoori chicken. I explained that I couldn't eat yoghurt as it contained milk and ordered a Balti instead.

The meal was very quick to come and was served personally the man who had taken my order. I asked him how the rice he had given me was cooked and he told me the whole meal was packaged and he wasn't sure. A minute later he came back with some Naan bread (containing milk) and told me it was apparently Pilau rice, which it looked nothing like.

Below expectations for everyone. Maybe that's why it has just shut down. The 2 for 1 drinks offers benefit didn't outweigh the ridiculously loud music and no other appeal. What's happened to the doormen on this place. My friend and i had been going to Jake's Bar for a couple of months and quite enjoyed it. The last twice the two doormen have suddenly decided not to let us in anymore. Stating the, rather feeble excuse of "Sorry not dressed appropriateley" Maybe understandable if we hadn't been wearing exactly the same clothing we had the week before, when there was no problem getting in. Where's the professionalism here? Two refusals is enough. We will not be going back again.What's happened to the doormen on this place. The last few times, before we can order we are being told what they DON'T have!!! This pub has improved greatly over the last few months due mainly to a change in management.

This is a great pub and has a really good atmosphere. The food is typical Embers Inn grub but it is always nice. Especially the brownies and icecream.

Since it started getting sunny on a weekend I've been going back to my student roots and spending lazy afternoons in the (massive) Oak beer garden. Very good for people watching, awesome for Â£2.09 pints of Carlsberg Cold, but it loses a star because last time I went I waited over 2 hours for some nachos.

Great old pub - not manay like this in Leeds anymore as they have mostly been turn into trendy "polished steal" wine bars.

Reasonably priced beer and lager, good is not bad and well priced. Atos is great and the interior of the building is beautiful. Great place any day of the week.

Bar staff friendly and toilets always clean.
