I tried the African Queen for the first time yesterday, and although I had to wait some time for my takeaway, and the music was VERY loud, the food was absolutely first rate and VERY reasonable. This resturnant is one of the best in london...Starters like lamb chops, kebabs, chicken tikka etc are very delicious, marvelous. This is one of the best takeaways I have had in a long time. Tasty food well prepared and cooked, it still has that little extra in flavour that a lot of restaurants seem to have lost, backed up by friendly service and a reliable, prompt delivery service.This is one of the best takeaways I have had in a long time. We thought we would start our last holiday in style - instead of the usual pre-flight breakfast at Giraffe, we would instead dine at Plane Food, which is Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Heathrow Terminal Five, airside.

The restaurant has been beautifully designed, taking advantage of the light-filled space which offers views out to the airfield. The space was much larger than imagined, and although stylish looking, the ambience was somehow more canteen like than I was expecting. Perhaps it had something to do with the large number of empty tables waiting to be cleared, meaning we had to wait around 10 minutes to be seated (eating into our valuable duty free shopping time).

Was it worth the wait. Not really. As this would be our second breakfast for the day, we just wanted something light and both opted for the Suffolk sweet-cured bacon and egg roll. It was the most boring and flavourless bacon and egg roll I think I have ever had. Every time I've been to Pizza Hut, I have not been impressed by the experience, and this time was no exception. I canâ¬"t quite understand why people would actually want to pay to eat there. This time we were there, 2 other tables were occupied. While ordering our food, I over heard another table complaining to staff about the fact the pizza was cold. This did not fill me with confidence. When our order finally came (after a very cold waitress took our order) our pizza was soggy and not cooked properly. Also we had ordered a salad, however half the pots at the salad bar were empty. I refused to pay a penny, and left still very hungry. For the price, the quality of food is really quite good, well cooked and the is quite a selection of mains. The Empire Chinese Restaurant - An Excellent Takeaway Choice. by MSE_Eater

Rating: 4.00Whenever I move, one of my top priorites is to find a really good Chinese takeaway to live off for a week or two. As we moved into the area, I noted this takeway was very close by. The same evening I moved in I went and picked up a menu. I did not regret it. I found their service to be freindly and warm, they told us if we needed any advice on the area to just call them and ask, they couldn't have done anymore.
We ordered a substantial meal for four of us, plus our cat. Well the cat got to share some chicken anyway. The meal was ready in good time, the only downside being that they do not deliver. Once home we all found our food to be very hot, fresh and extremely tasty. A lot of Chinese restaurants boost the taste of their food using monosodium glutamate - this is what often gives a very sticky ("glue") mouth for many hours or if you are unlucky when you wake up the next day, but this was not evident with the Empire's food - they didn't need to artificially enhance the quality of the food as it clearly stands on it's own.
Pricing is very reasonable, you can get cheaper but the quality will suffer. Sung's specialises in serving simply delightful Beijing and Cantonese cuisine. It also offers a takeway
service with which you can get 20% off your bill and free delivery within a three mile radius, should you not want to dine in, but it really is a pleasure if you do.

The restaurant is clearly very popular within the Chinese community as many seem to patronise this restaurant, which is always a good sign of quality food.

It has a warm, relaxed atmosphere, it functions just as well as an intimate venue as it does for larger gatherings, the interior design is well though out and is designed to accomodate most needs.

Service itself is a pleasure, the staff are so freindly and attentive that you don't quite know what you've done to deserve being treated so well!

The menu is mouthwateringly good to say the least.
Shredded Smoked Chicken, Grilled Dumpling, Hot and Sour Soup, Shredded Beef Fillet, there is something with mindlblowing flavour here for everyone. The produce used is clearly of the freshest quality available and you can tell as much with every bite.

Rating: 5.00The Pizzeria which is airside at Heathrow's Terminal 4 is quite an eligant restaurant on the inside; don't let the outside fool you. Be warned that the prices are also extortionately elegant. However, the atmosphere is very calming and the sorroundings (paintings and decorations) were mellow so if you've had a long journey already and are about to embark on the next leg of your travels, why not grab some lunch here? Their menu did not contain very many options for Vegetarians so maybe more of a choice for meat-lovers. Went to saigon's last night, thinking that I'm in for a treat. The starters were awful, very basic - had to ask for extra sauce each time. The staff were not very friendly and the main food was not worth the wait.

On my way to Chicago I suffered at the hands of Heathrow. The place is completely cursed and a complete embarrassment to everyone associate with London. But on the plus side, our pilot's decision not to turn up for work resulted in me being given some vouchers to spend on "refreshments" anywhere I wanted within the terminal. Having guzzled more than my fair share of business class mini-bacon sandwiches and endless cups of tea I decided to make the most of my voucher. Wimpy? No thanks! Pret? Nope. Caviar House and Prunier? Yes please!

I had King Crab and a glass of very cold, dry white wine. Bliss. After all the hassle and stress of being in a crowded, hot and disorganised airport this cool, refreshing plate of tender crab was perfect, if a little pricey! But I wasn't paying. BA were! The contrast between the civilised setting of a luxury food outlet in an airport and the apocalyptically danger of the Deadliest Catch weren't lost on me. Just have a look at the sheer savagery of the waves in the video below. The Deadliest Catch is the Discovery Channel's hugely popular documentary about the reality of King Crab fishing in the Bering Sea. It's scary stuff and documents the death of an entire crew. So I sat with my glass of chilled white wine and sweet, salty crab meat and felt very fortunate that I don't make my living as a fisherman!
