Without a doubt the worse restaurant in Harrogate, and I believe i must have been to most. Anti pasa cheap rubbish (but expensive) and the pizzas were an embarrasment, unbelievably poor similar to the worse frozen pizzas from a low rent supermarket. I've eaten here twice, one a wet wednesday evening and an insanly busy night. On the wednesday my vegetarian wife discovered pieces of chicken in her vegi meal. No discount was forthcoming but they offered a free dessert!
On the very busy night we had booked well in advance but had to wait for our table, after being seated we waited twenty minutes for our drinks order to be taken, a further 20 mins for them to arrive then a further half hour until I had to go and ask at the front desk for someone to take our order "the kitchen is too busy to take your order". The waiter was indifferent to our wait. The food, when it arrived after a further 45 mins was not outstanding but average for a chain restaurant but seemed a little overpriced.
There was a rapid and dismissive apology for the wait. We visited Kinara without recommendation or reading reviews. First impressions were very good, being greeted by a smartly dressed gentleman on arrival, and efficiently shown to our table, even though we had not booked.

We ate three courses, all of which were superb! Service was without fault, and the decor and table decoration was beautiful, with cotton table cloths and polished cutlery.

Our bill was wholly remarkable, when we consider we ate three courses and had several drinks with our meal for Â£35.00. Having deducted the cost of drinks, we paid a mere Â£11.50 per head for our food. Given the extremely high standard of the food and service, this is one seriously impressive venue.

The restarant has 9 maybe 10 tables, and provides an extremely warm welcome.

All in all, very highly recommended! We will certainly visit again when we next travel to Yorkshire, even if we do not stay in Harrogate, this restarant is worth travelling to.

Pizza express serve a range of Italian style dishes besides pizzas. The meals are reasonably priced and appeal to a wide range of customers. Staff deal equally well with a lively children's party, retrieving balloons, joining in the birthday wishes and so on, and serving those enjoying a relaxing meal as a couple. The premises are licensed with a range of beers, wines and still drinks to complement the food. Tables are spaced for ease of movement. Altogether a clean and pleasant environment with efficient staff. Lovely food. Very cramped conditions. Tables placed so close together that the next table could easily elbow the guests on the adjacent table. Customer service not good. Staff arrogant and ignorant. My hubbie and I dropped in for lunch in April 2008 and I opted for the leek and potato soup at Â£4.25. It came with a bread bun (no butter). The size of the soup portion was very small, it would not have been adequate for a hungry male. The bread bun was warm but the outer crust came off when you pulled the bread apart and it was very warm in the middle. Clearly it had been microwaved a bit too long I think. The soup itself was bland and tasteless. The service was okay and hubbie's sandwich was very nice. Unfortunately, when I pointed out my disappointment in the soup I was told that as I had eaten more than half I still had to pay. I didn't even finish the bun either. The fact that the cook did not appear to defend the soup's quality and flavour, justified my complaint. Needless to say we shall not visit there again.

To say that this restaurant is off the beaten track of town centre, it was surprisingly busy...and that alone tells a long story!! Brio in Hornbeam is reasonably priced, it's almost as if it wants to be kept as "the Locals secret".
I regularly visit Harrogate for business and I found Brio Hornbeam by chance after reserving my accomodation at a nearby hotel in the Park.
Food was fresh and expertly prepared and a good selection of wines and beers were available.
The service was professional and sharp and nothing was too much trouble.
I found a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere and I will be shouting the name of this place very loud from now on. Recommended.
