I can't really expand much on oogywawa's review of West, all of which I agree with, other than to say the food is indeed very good, and largely of the German bratwurst/sauerkraut variety. The chips are nice too.

They sometimes have live music, and I was there to listen to The Brass Monkeys, a 19 piece big band in which a friend plays. Cant believe anyone who has eaten at this resturaunt thinks the food is good.
The chicken chaat was cold and served with a disgusting sweet and sour sauce you would expect to find in a chinese food chain. The main courses aren't much better .The decor is old could be doing with a lick of paint staff aren't the most pleasant either.I certainly won't be eating there again.Cant believe anyone who has eaten at this resturaunt thinks the food is good.

A group of us meet every month for a few beers and a meal . As we had originally started out as a curry club , most of our experiences were based on the Glasgow Indian scene. We had however occasionally strayed to Chinese and Malaysian.The wonderful Rumours and even more wonderful Asia Style deing two of those. Our sole forray into Thai had been a fairly good delve at Thai Siam on Argyle Street but one of our number suggested Thai Orchid maily due to its location in Central Glasgow and to a lesser extent on favourable reviews we had read.
From the moment we entered until the moment we left we could not have wished for a more chaotic,unprofessional and overall disappointing experience.
It took 20 minutes to receive our starters. Two of which were cold and had to be sent back. The waitresses were more interested in enquiring as to our drinks needs than our food ones.Twice, the wrong entrees were brought and again one of our number had to send it back to the kitchen to be reheated.The standard of service in general was so poor that we refused to tip which is just not our style.The bill came to Â£160.00 for 5 of us which really was money for old rope.
I would recommend anyone to avoid the Thai Orchid unless they want overcharged,badly served and under valued as customers. As the title hints we will be dining elsewhere on our monthly socials.

Recently took the family for sunday lunch. I had not been there for some time. Wow !!! From the moment we were met by the maitre 'd to the moment we left everything was perfect. Although there are no play areas for the children they were treated so well . The food and service was fantastic and great value. On a busy Saturday night we were made very welcome. The restaurant was well staffed and the food was just great Italian cuisine, a wide ranging menu and a large number of specials on the chalk board. There were obviously a large number of regulars but we were never left feeling missed out, I think we will be regulars from now on. This family run restaurant gave us one of the best nights out we have ever had anywhere, at any time. Including 2 beers, Â£20 a head felt expensive.

Had been looking forward to visiting this restaurant but we were disappointed. The portion of halibut was very small and the dish was very salty making the fish seem quite dry. I'll expand. We got into the place at 9.50pm - which according to the website was with 10 mins to spare to order food. "The kitchen is shutting" we were told so there would be a limited menu. Not to be put off by the negativity we ordered our food and took a seat. The toulouse sausage and mash was passable but the salmon was little short of scandalous. For Â£8.99 we were supplied with 2 thin slivers of smoked salmon, 2 bits of lettuce and 2 half slices of bread !

On the plus side, the real ale was in top form and the service was friendly and obliging.

Babbity is somewhere I would pop back to for a pint but I wouldn't eat there again after feeling fleeced though, which is a pity as they alienated potential repeat business.You're either open or you're not...

Despite the simplicity of the restaurant's outer decor, inside it was most extravagant: fresh flowers on each table, candles, a unique take on napkins, wonderful artwork on the walls and a really relaxed, jovial atmosphere. The food was sumptuous, vibrant Indian flavours combined with chef's special mixture of sauces were most pleasing to the taste-buds. In particular the chicken tawa with chilli and garlic stood out. This tender dish spiced beautifully with a range of not too piquant spices was mouth-watering. The tandoori salmon was also exceptional. This fresh fish dish fused with mint, yoghurt and masala was most original and delectable. The dish was definitely memorable and I would highly recommend both to lovers of Indian cuisine. lovely inside, excellent service form the staff, quite a large selection of dishes to choose from in the menu using the freshest ingrediants and they do Indian TAPAS mother cooking, will give those a try next time we visit, we thought this was excellent value for money also.

Great food, excellent buffet and friendly staff.
