Rating: 4.00One of the worst things about moving house is not knowing what the local chinese takeaway will be like. This has to a major consideration to any house move! Thankfully on the 3 occasions I have done this I have landed on my feet and found somewhere that caters for my taste and the Pearl is no different. Conventiently located next to Tesco there is always a welcoming aroma when walking through the car park which if you haven't yet cooked is a major temptation. The menu includes mauch of the usual chinese meals and much the same price as everywhere else. If you like something a little bit different though I would recommend the Salt & Pepper Chicken (Dry). Delicious! Make sure though that you order a peking sauce to pour over your rice just to moisten things a bit. Having ordered from here more times than I can remember I have never been once been disappointed. I quite like this branch as it has lots of parking places and it is situated within the Braehead shopping centre with Boots being next door (very handy). The quality of food is very good and I must say that in my opinion of all of the supermarket I find Sainsbury's very ethical in many ways. I do find that recently it has also had a good selection of buy one get one free and lots of half price deals and their own brand food is far superior to many other supermarket ones. There is also a big selection of TU clothes. I mostly buy their kids clothes and found the designs and the materials of excellent quality. Lupe Pinto's Deli is located on Great Western Road in the West End of Glasgow. I am American and have lived in Scotland for about 2 years now and I find myself sometimes longing for the creature comforts of home. When a friend who moved to Scotland from abroad told me about Lupe Pinto's I was so grateful. They had items like Fluff, grape jelly, Skippy which are all my favorites. Another great thing about Lupe Pinto's is that you can order items online if you cannot make it to the store. I also found loads of Spanish food items to use when I cook. I was disappointed when I saw that Delizique was closing down, then I read that it was relocating and in addition, the original premises were to be a cafe bar, serving food supplied by the deli and also their on site team of bakers and chefs. They have both a daytime and an evening menu.

I have now been there 3 times for both food and drink, eating only from the daytime menu. The atmosphere is very relaxed and although the dining area is quite small, they manage to pack a fair crowd in without it feeling too cramped. The menu offers a selection of tasty salads and sandwiches - BLT, HLT (halloumi), Pastrami & Swiss cheese (on their homemade bread) as well as their all day breakfast. Think Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, Puddlebub bacon, Stornoway black pudding. They use fantastic ingredients so it's not bargain prices, you definitely pay for the quality and surroundings.

The staff are polite and generally pleasant, but extremely slow. On all three occasions, we have waited in the doorway to be seated, only to be passed by staff flitting from cafe to deli without acknowledgement. Eventually we just took seats, but were left wondering if we'd ever be served and were beginning to think they'd forgotten our coffee and water order after 25 minutes.

On both occasions we went there to eat, the items we ordered were unavailable. My partner has a lactose and wheat intolerance and unfortunately these were the only items on the menu he could eat. The chef helpfully made something to order, so that was a bonus. It was not easy to pin down a member of staff to quiz about ingredients, but when we did they were heplful.

because the cakes here are really good. They probably get a lot of people like me coming in for cake wednesday or Friday. The prices are not that cheap as you would expect but taste better than Greggs. The fresh cream birthday cakes are also very nice but make sure you order early enough. I like going into Miss Cranstons which is basically a Bradfords with a different name. It is near central station. I am not that keen on the savoury - fairly average fair and sandwiches are not my cup of tea.because the cakes here are really good. KFC is great value for money. There is always good meal deals that include a burger, drink, chips ( which are nicer than most fast food restaurants chips because they are thicker), extra chicken and a side such as barbecue beans, colslaw or gravy. The only draw back is that the food may not be cooked to order. This could mean that your chicken burger is left lying for a long time before you eat it which is not very nice. The staff are usually relatively friendly and are happy to accomodate any needs in terms of your meal such as no mayonaise or extra mayonaise. In relation to the layout of the restaurant it is very small and cramped which is not pleasant when it is very busy.KFC is great value for money. Who ate all the pies? Glaswegians of course. Not to knock the bakers themselves, but it's not a coincidence that this city is so unhealthy and that the majority of people (at a guess) eat their lunch from Greggs. If it's sausage rolls, rolls and bacon or square sausage you want, this is where to come - oh aye, and pies. They also do many doughnuts and other cakes, personally I'm partial to a wee fern cake occasionally. It's a shame that they don't heat up the apple pie slices anymore though. They acutal food is pretty nice, but they have this weird kebab sauce that they smother everything in, which tastes kinda funny. You don't need to get this, but whats a kebab without sauce! Bit of a dump inside however, needs a good clean, plus they have a bar upstairs which can be noisy at times. I would reccomend getting a takeout, and as its near strathclyde union its handy for this. Last time I was in here, they were doing red bull for like 60p a can, which is amazing considering its a pound everywhere else. Great for students and people on a budget, as their food is really cheap, and they sometimes get in good ice cream like ben and jerrys, and its usually only a pound a tub. People think its a really cheap shop, but you can get some cracking deals in here if you look around. Wouldn't use it as my main source of groceries however, not enough choice. I remember tesco being extremely cheap, but that seems to have changed thesedays. Still, they do have alot of bargains on offer, and in a good location so cheaper than most places in town to get your lunch. Would still say ASDA is the cheapest, but since theres no ASDA in town, this would be my main choice if I needed groceries. Staff were very helpful and polite last time I was in, and I doubt this has changed alot since. Try and avoid this Sainbury's during lunch hour as half of Glasgow are in here getting their lunch. The queues are unbelievable. Staff are very busy but usually friendly, like most supermarkets there are exceptions to the rule. Sainbury's have crammed a lot into this store and it shows. It is very tight for space throughout the store. There are the chilled goods, sandwiches, small bakery section, and daily newspapers. Even though it is busy you can still pick up reduced price bargains. There is always a Security Guard in store, which can be a bit off-putting. I guess as the store is open late at night it is a necessity. Rating: 5.00The crepes here are fantastic, made fresh in front of you, and the fillings are really tasty. Options to sit in or takeway, and they have meal deals which save you even more money. They also do other things, such as macaroni cheese and hotdogs, so its not limited to just crepes. There are also plenty of shops in glasgow, a few in the town, and in shawlands a new one has opened. The only downside is the crepes are a tad on the expensive side, but they are good quality so its not too bad. This is one of the better fish and chip shops, as the portions are very generous for the price, and the quality of the chips are excellent. As well as chips you can get haggis, burgers etc so the choice is not limited. Staff are friendly, and the place is clean, unlike alot of chippies in the area. Better than my local chippy, and much cheaper too. On the whole would say one of the best fish and chip shops around and I would reccomend it, although if your in the town, blue lagoon is the best place to go.This is one of the better fish and chip shops, as the portions are very generous for the price, and the quality of the chips are excellent. Well what can you say that all choccie fans do not already know. This place is a chocolate lovers paradise. Part of the Thorntons chain. Currently selling four small bars of chocolate for Â£2. You all have to try the Scillian Lemon and the Cappuccino. Christmas is not Christmas without at least one box of Continental Selection. As with all Thorntons you can personalise cartain purchases and gift wrapping is available. Always very pleasant staff. If you are a bit drunk and on your way home, count your loose change and just choose anything. It will taste fab if you have had a few drinks but won't give you a dodgy tummy. The menu is brilliant with many options for vegeatarians and it is very cheaply priced considering the hgh quality of food that you get. When phoning the staff are always in very high spirits as well as being clear and helpful. Delivery time was always around half an hour or under which is incredible as the food really is of superb quality, they have a top chef. Rating: 5.00Must admit never had a problem with the Famous Wok. The food's always good,hot and delivery normally only takes about 30 minutes and thats on a Saturday night.
