A fabulous metallic sculpture at the pedestrian entrance to Glasgow&#39;s new Harbour site. Definitely worth a visit, and you could always continue on to the walkway beside the Clyde.Has been called the Angel of Glasgow, but really much more than that. <title>Glasgow Necropolis - A very interesting place to visit by ident7</title>

It&#39;s sometimes featured on TV and it&#39;s almost always mentioned on leaflets and booklets about Glasgow as a place to visit. <br /><br />Being a &#39;City of the Dead&#39; strangely I hardly thought about people being buried all around me when I visited. What stikes you is the amazing architecture. It&#39;s such a shame that often we don&#39;t put the same thought into modern buildings people have to work in as those in the past put into buildings they&#39;d be buried in or under.<br /><br />I went on my own, but there are tours run both by Friends of the Necropolis and Glasgow City Council&#39;s Park serviceIt seems extremely strange to recommend people go and visit a cemetery, and it&#39;s a place I never thought I&#39;d visit, but living in Glasgow you often hear about the Necropoils. <title>Kelvingrove Park - One of Glasgow's finest Parks by ident7</title>

<title>Botanic Gardens - Great little park by ident7</title>

Inside are a variety of tropical plants and even a little pond with tropical fish inside. <br /><br />But outside there is a great little park with an area dedicated to children, and a path that will take you down to walk beside the River Kelvin. You&#39;d usually be very unlucky if you don&#39;t see a squirl (Usually expecting you to feed it something). Also on the riverbanks is Ha&#39;penny Bridge House, a small brick building which is the river HQ for &#39;Friends of the River Kelvin&#39; who do various things to watch over the river that runs through the Botanic Gardens. The Botanic gardens gets its name from the greenhouses on its grounds like the recently restored Kibble Palace glasshouse. <title>Pollok Country Park - Voted Europe's Best Park 2008 by Lin</title>

It is situated on the Southside of the city and easy to get to with M8 nearby however once you are within the park you can totally forget that you are in the middle of a city&#33; As well as scenic woodland walks and trails there is so much to see - Highland cattle grazing in the fields, Clydesdale horses in the stables, old sawmill, walled garden, a new children&#39;s play area and also there are mountain biking trails for the cyclists. Within its grounds it also has the Pollok House which is managed by the National Trust and the fantastic Burrell Collection (both of which have cafes). There are many events hosted in the park especially during the summer like the family day.
