I can't really expand much on oogywawa's review of West, all of which I agree with, other than to say the food is indeed very good, and largely of the German bratwurst/sauerkraut variety. The chips are nice too.

They sometimes have live music, and I was there to listen to The Brass Monkeys, a 19 piece big band in which a friend plays. This is a stylish little place with nice laid back tunes, great food...the soups are amazing...and the staff are all really nice. Small independent with big brand feel. Cant believe anyone who has eaten at this resturaunt thinks the food is good.
The chicken chaat was cold and served with a disgusting sweet and sour sauce you would expect to find in a chinese food chain. The main courses aren't much better .The decor is old could be doing with a lick of paint staff aren't the most pleasant either.I certainly won't be eating there again.Cant believe anyone who has eaten at this resturaunt thinks the food is good.

The "Bon" was and still is a decent Real Ale outlet. However, what was a very good pricing policy of all ales being the same price irrelevant of strength has now turned into a minus. To pay Â£2.90 for a 3.4% ale is extremely greedy especially when there are 3 Wethersopoons outlets within 10 minutes walk. In summer the ales tend to "warm up" indicating the cellar refridgeration is unable to cope with the increase in ambient temperature.
In my humble opinion the Bon Accord is still worth a visit but not the mecca it once was .The "Bon" was and still is a decent Real Ale outlet. A group of us meet every month for a few beers and a meal . As we had originally started out as a curry club , most of our experiences were based on the Glasgow Indian scene. We had however occasionally strayed to Chinese and Malaysian.The wonderful Rumours and even more wonderful Asia Style deing two of those. Our sole forray into Thai had been a fairly good delve at Thai Siam on Argyle Street but one of our number suggested Thai Orchid maily due to its location in Central Glasgow and to a lesser extent on favourable reviews we had read.
From the moment we entered until the moment we left we could not have wished for a more chaotic,unprofessional and overall disappointing experience.
It took 20 minutes to receive our starters. Two of which were cold and had to be sent back. The waitresses were more interested in enquiring as to our drinks needs than our food ones.Twice, the wrong entrees were brought and again one of our number had to send it back to the kitchen to be reheated.The standard of service in general was so poor that we refused to tip which is just not our style.The bill came to Â£160.00 for 5 of us which really was money for old rope.
I would recommend anyone to avoid the Thai Orchid unless they want overcharged,badly served and under valued as customers. As the title hints we will be dining elsewhere on our monthly socials.

Recently took the family for sunday lunch. I had not been there for some time. Wow !!! From the moment we were met by the maitre 'd to the moment we left everything was perfect. Although there are no play areas for the children they were treated so well . The food and service was fantastic and great value. MAINS CAME AFTER ANOTHER HALF HOUR IN AN AMBIENCE FULL OF DRUNKEN NEDS SWEARING AND ROWDY TABLES,JUST LIKE PRISON REALLY.THE DUCK WAS COLD AND DRY, I THINK IT DIED OF DEHYDRATION.
THE ONLY TIME THEY WERE QUICK OR ATTENTIVE WAS WHEN THEY CAME WITH THE BILL ,Â£100 OF BAD FEELING!

On a busy Saturday night we were made very welcome. The restaurant was well staffed and the food was just great Italian cuisine, a wide ranging menu and a large number of specials on the chalk board. There were obviously a large number of regulars but we were never left feeling missed out, I think we will be regulars from now on. This family run restaurant gave us one of the best nights out we have ever had anywhere, at any time.
