Claire Grove is one of Cardiffâ¬"s best-known independent shopkeepers selling beads and buttons from around the world. She is also an artist who has produced a series of award-winning, humorous and quirky images that have gained a cult following.

Now in its twenty-fifth year of business, the shop was once described as the most ridiculous retailing idea to come out of the 1980s and survive. Her shop has endured as a source of inspiration and wonder to locals and tourists alike and has since become a unique icon of the city.

I can not recommend these people enough - I have never been so well looked after when buying clothes.I used to look for bargains - but no longer.

As soon as you walk into Topshop Cardiff, you feel ready to shop. The open layout and the bright lighting instantly cheer you up, even on a winter's day, and the clothes offered there are such good quality that you never want to leave.

With clothes designed by the likes of Kate Moss, a boutique section, shoes to die for, a huge denim collection, and bags that will make you scream - Topshop is a definite place to go for any keen shopper.As soon as you walk into Topshop Cardiff, you feel ready to shop. With a huge range of cheap yet gorgeous clothes, Primark is a definite stop for shopping. If you just need a plain vest top or t-shirt, then spend your money wisely and get one from here. Also, this shop is bursting with beautiful clothes that look near to designer! Their shoe and bag ranges are huge, and they have plenty of good quality clothes for the office.

My only criticism is that it's always SO FULL! And it's always full of prams.With a huge range of cheap yet gorgeous clothes, Primark is a definite stop for shopping. On first impressions, this department store seems highly expensive, but that's only if you take a quick glance at what this store has to offer! With a delightful food court, where you can find a huge range of chocolates, liqueurs, cheeses and cakes, you will never get tired of Howells. Their clothes department include many popular brands like French Connection, Replay and Morgan :) and their cosmetics counters are so friendly! Only joking. I love this place! Yes, you have to dig around for things a bit more than in other High street shops, but that is part of the fun. You don't get as much fashion guidance from the store in the form of mannequins, photos, etc. which can be quite exciting as you find things and put them together. Often you find very good designer stuff that has been heavily discounted, and if it is in your size, you will be laughing. Store assistants are few and far between, so if you like star treatment, maybe this isn't for you. The other plus of shopping here is that usually you won't end up seeing anyone else wearing your clothes as often happens with the likes of Topshop. With the new store by the Hayes, TKMaxx have stepped up their game, and it is now better laid out, with better air conditioning than before, and even a cafe where you can pick up a coffee after all that exhausting searching around for your bargain.Only joking. Good quality, trendy clothes, better for the more slim/petite women out there. You'll probably like Miss Selfridge if you like Topshop, though Miss Selfridge isn't as trend-oriented as Topshop. Great shoe store with good music and really ncie, helpful staff. Not the most spacious, but with so many brands to choose from, I'm not complaining! Very good quality clothes for quite reasonable prices. Sort of the mid-way point between high-street and designer. Most of the store is colour co-ordinated, and the store itself is very spacious, a very designer-store feeling. The staff are always helpful, and if an item can be found in a different colour then they'll usually be together, so no need to search around the store for it.
