Everytime I have been there to see a play, it has felt so special because of the whole vibe you get from the place. The traditional feel is brilliant, with all staff in uniform and very professional ice-cream people in the breaks! :) I used to visit there annually to see the pantomime, and as soon as you walk through the doors you forget that you have just stepped off the bustling streets of Cardiff because the look of the place is outstanding. Also, there are function rooms which can be hired for birthday parties (with a bar!) which are great for any event! This beautiful theatre within Cardiff is bursting with culture. It hosts everything from rock concerts, orchestral concerts, Cardiff singer of the world, ballet performances, plus gamelan, the reduced Shakespeare Theatre company, and free lunchtime concerts - in fact there is something on almost every day of the week. The great things about it are the kids club weekend and holiday prices are excellent, also bags are not searched for hidden food (as happens in some cinemas). There are 12 screens and you may sit anywhere as long as you've paid for it (GALLERY SECTION IS MORE EXPENSIVE AND NOT WORTH THE MONEY IN MY OPINION). Cinemas are always clean and tidied up after each showing. Sound and picture quality is wonderful.

The dire point...The cinema food, but hey everyone knows this so just "be prepared"The UCI cinema in the Red Dragon complex is both great and dire.
