A good restaurant for a family dinner..the atmosphere is very good and different from other indian.. the staffs are friendly and helpfull. you have lots to choose from and each and every dish which we ordered tasted different from the other, which does not happen with other indian..

Vegetarians have lots to choose from..this is thefirst time i have see vegetarian have lots of choices in a combined restaurant..

They run different deal days throught the week and on on Sunday luch..

Their take away is a good buy..nicely packed with very good quantities for the price..
The wine list is of good choice and it suits their food very well.
their desserts are different from other and every one should their fried ice cream..
Do book a table on the weekends to avoid delays and dissapointments..

Went to eat out with 3 friends. I'm vegan, and so is my best friend, and out other two friends are meativores. We decided to go to the Canteen, as it seemed promising and there was food to please everyone (or so it seemed on the menu on their website). We went there, and the problems started straight away. The girl who served us never had a smile or any more than two words to say to us. The service felt rushed and impersonal. Then the food came. My starter was impressive to the eye, but my tongue had a different opinion. I found that the taste was bland and definitely didn't live up to the promise. Then the main course came, a fairly sized portion: which I, like my meat eating friend, did not finish, as I found it rather unappetizing. The only thing to save the day was the desert, which was ok, nothing to write home about and at this point in time we're just wanting to pay the bill and get out of there more than trying to enjoy the food. Needless to say we're gonna have to find elsewhere to eat now, as we refuse to go back. My other 3 friends share of the opinion, so I'm not just imagining it.Went to eat out with 3 friends. Do you remember the advert on television that showed the couple checking out of the hotel and were charged for seeing the sunset so they declined the bill been stapled to the credit card receipt in case they got charged for her it? Here is the restaurant equivalent!! The description is The Beech Tree Inn is a restaurant
designed and priced for the times we live in.
A very confusing and bland menu shows that you pay Â£14- 17 pound for your piece of meat and some form of potatoes and then all sauces are Â£1.75 on top and a small bowl of salad is Â£2.75, other vegetables are just as pricey so you are looking at greater that Â£20 per head for what was presented as a bland uninteresting meal. The starters were not much better.
My children scoffed the bread that was put on the table and we were told the extra bread was another Â£0.95 , I felt like asking for a doggy bag to take the remaining butter with us but refrained from the temptation.
Sweets are Â£4.95. To describe on the website to say you are saving money is disingenuous to say the least except if you go for lunch and have no extras whatsoever.

We ate from the 'Little Dishes' menu. The restaurant would have got a better review if we had stuck to the carnivore's dishes, with some olives and hummus as starters. The olives were very good! Service was mainly efficient and friendly, the wine was very good. Our little dishes of venison, duck etc were tasty and enjoyable, and fish cakes were quite good.

But my daughter's vegetarian dishes were both poor. The glamorgan sausages were like a wet, deep fried potato croquette with a hint of cheese, none of the texture a sausage should have and the risotto was a very wet mess tasting overwhelmingly of garlic, you couldn't detect any mushroom flavour as promised. She left most of both dishes and I would have done the same after sampling them.

We informed the water who was responsive and told us he had told the chef; the bill on inspection was found to be slightly reduced but we were not informed of this. My companion had also chosen one vegetarian dish which was a very basic salad with little of the supposed pear, walnut or blue cheese and would certainly have not satisfied the appetite as part of a vegetarian meal.

We also waited over 40 minutes after ordering our dessert, and had to repeat a request for water.

On this basis, and at over Â£30 each, I would not choose to eat here again - shame as it is just about walking distance from home.We ate from the 'Little Dishes' menu. perfect!! tea & coffee at its best, tea served in kitsch fine bone china, coffee in traditional sized cups not buckets!,
try the flat white (2 shots of coffee in single cap cup with flat milk)lots of loose leaf tea Â£1.80 for a very large pot!

My Wife, Son and I went to Demiros on Sunday the 23rd of August as it was recommended by staff at the Dr Who Exhibition - - This place is worse than awful - rude staff - no service - when a waiter eventually arrived 20 mins after we where shown to the table I explained that we would order food after we had ordered drinks he stormed off muttering something and never came back - after complaining to the first waiter he muttered something about being very busy - busy my backside the place was half empty with waiters running around like busy fools - I cannot comment on the food as we did not get any and we left 30mins after we arrived ? me and my mate whent there for the first time,
the service was not bad but i expected table service because its down the bay.
the food was lovely, possibly slightly over priced but i can cope becuase it really filled me up.

Rating: 2.00We ordered a takeaway from the Juboraj group. The fellow on the phone sounded really depressed and kept talking to someone else and I had to keep going over the order.
When it arrived we were very impressed with fancy box it came in. and it smelt lovely. We dished it out it looked gorgeous yummmm.
I had a korma it was lovely and creamy but bland. And the chicken chunks were tasteless. I wouldn't order it again. My hubby had a Jalfrezi, he assured me it was gorgeous. But...... our Nan bread breads were appalling. The menu said "Garlic Nan. Stuffed full of garlic"
But what we got was a limp half cooked nan smeared with a greenish garlic paste, tasted like it had come out of a jar. and probably had, such a pity and something I would have never guessed an outfit like the Juboraj would have served up.We ordered a takeaway from the Juboraj group. My boyfriend booked this as a surprise on a recent trip to Cardiff as it is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Cardiff. its in a good location in Cardiff Bay, and the place is done up very nicely, although in the dining room the tables were slightly too close together so that the back of the chair on the outside got bashed every time a waiter or other customer walked past.

First impressions were very good with friendly, competent staff, one of whom even brought around a board of raw steaks to let us know their origin and maturing process which is a new one on me! The food was very tasty - no complaints there, and the portions were very big (particularly the dessert). Perhaps a little too big, but I did manage to finish off my 3 course meal without feeling too ill at the end ;-)

My only complaint is that of the service. After our initial order had been taken, the food came out very quickly (a little too quick perhaps), but after our main course it took about 20 minutes for someone to come back and take our dessert order - and even then, only when we flagged them down. Again, after the dessert we waited another 20 minutes or so for the bill and had to ask for it twice. When the bill did come, it had 2 bottles of wine - only one of which was ours. The waiter was apologetic and took it off again with no questions asked, but when you are paying about Â£100 for 2 people (3 courses each plus 1 bottle of wine), you expect the service to be a little better.

Overall, I really enjoyed the food and the experience, but it was let down by the service. Last night our party of three darkened the door of the Armless Dragon.

We were greeted with grimaces by two waitresses, and directed to a table, set in the sort of decor that could best be described as well used, and at worst, cruelly laid to waste by the ravages of time.

In no time at all, three bowls of complimentary leek and potato soup were plonked down on the table, allowing us to whet our palates with a broth which could only have been born in a can and ended its life brutally executed in a microwave.
At this point, I was thinking we should leave. I don't think I was the only one.

Wine was ordered, and without ceremony our bottle of 1er cru Chablis was torn open, and sloshed into cheap glasses (the ones from your local bowls club with the imperial measurements) with little attention.
With prices like these, surely they could invest in some decent glasses.

My starter was the Perl Las & Pear Tart with Toasted Walnut.
An item which could have had some potential had it not apparently been accidentally toasted upside down, with the result that the base was as solid as granite and the contents on top pale and drawn.
My companions both had the Cawl, which we suspected consisted of water flavoured with more water. Gulag quality stuff.

The vacuous middle-of-the-road music burbling out of the stereo system did nothing at this point to add to the restaurant's charm.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more...
Two plates of Woodland Mushroom Ravioli, and one Mountain Lamb Rump with Smoked Potato.
I won't go into any great detail about these delicasies as words fail me.
Well, all except one. Tesco.

We declined the offer of dessert, added Â£10 gratuity (God only knows why) and exited Â£105 lighter than we did one hour earlier.

I wish I could be less harsh, but the fact that the Armless Dragon offered us so very little for so much singles it out for particular criticism.

Coed-Y-Gores Harvester - Awful experience by machen

Rating: 1.00Visited whilst visiting Cardiff. Although building was old it was not clean. You could hardly see the carpet for crumbs and this was not just under the tables. Although only 5 tables were occupied had to be asked twice what we wanted to drink. Then had to wait 10 minutes to get it!! We waited 35 minutes for main meal. My rack of ribs were black. Waitress looked at my uneaten meal, obviously noticed how burnt it was but did not comment. Just raised her eyebrows!! Couldn't wait to get out of there!! I have eaten there during the daytimes on a number of occasions and find the food very reasonable priced. However it was a few years before I ventured into the bar in the night. What have I missed out on for all these years?? Possibly one of the best atmospheres I have encountered, it kind of hits you as you walk in. Despite being put off as being a gay venue, the couple of times I've visited it's been full of hen nights and couples. Good place to go for a cheap drink and standard pub meal (pie and chips, sausage and mash, that kind of thing). Nothing special but for the money it's decent. Spacious beer garden is nice in the summer.

The clientele is an unusual mix of students and law professionals, which works surprisingly well, it's not too studenty and it's not too dull!

You can rent games like jenga too for a deposit.Good place to go for a cheap drink and standard pub meal (pie and chips, sausage and mash, that kind of thing). Nothing special but for the money it's decent. Spacious beer garden is nice in the summer.

Buffalo is one of the coolest bars in Cardiff, good music, good selection of draught beers including Franziskaner weissbier (at least last time I was there) and bottled beers (imported lager and some ales). Great in the summer as you can chill out in the beer garden, but it can get a bit smoky since the ban.

I use this place nearly every day for lunch and on weekends when I am shopping in town. They can be really busy at times but this doesn't mean the service or the quality suffers. The two owners have drilled their staff well and food flies out of the kitchen faster than anywhere else in Cardiff. Best of all, the staff are always friendly and mistakes are rare.

I recommend Cafe Caribe to anyone wanting a fast snack before or after the game or when the shopping gets too much. We were very diappointed when we visited here at lunch time today.

We had been regulars last year, we found there had been a change of management and many of the staff had changed. Not the Chef though.

There were 3 of us and we arrived just ahead of a large party. We sat and waited for our order tobe taken. It took them at least 15 mins, not long I know, however not as it was, ans that was after the large party had given theirs.

We did get our drinks in good time, however it took a further 25 mins to get our food. It was sat ready for at least 5 mins and when it came we had to check who's food was who's and the waitress who bought the food did not seem to know what she was serving. We then had to ask for cutlery and when she brought this she had not brought serviettes.

The food however was a differen story. This was as I remembered. It was perfect and just as I liked it. My one friend did feel her potatoes were not right somw hot and some cold.
