As a frequent traveller, I have reason to eat in many "fine" dining establishments throughout the year and really very few ever prompt me to write reviews. Alimentum is an expectation to that.

It is an exception because it was such a truly memorable experience.

Memorable from the the moment I walked through the door and took in the delightfully tasteful, modern, yet welcoming ambiance and decor of the place. A pretty modern shell of a building has been internally transformed into a chic, impressive and still somehow understated surround.

The welcome from the staff was extremely professional, polite and attentive whilst not being overly forced. This set the scene for the service throughout the remainder of my stay.

Onto the fare - well, I can honestly say that I have to trawl my memory banks to recall a better prepared and thought through culinary experience.

I had had a salmon and crab starter which was sublime in both taste and texture and my partner had breast and tongue of lamb with anchovy which looked amazing and apparently tasted even better.

For mains I enjoyed a most exquisitely prepared sirloin and my partner the fillet and belly of pork. Both looked sensational on the plate the taste explosion was bordering on the surreal.

The many oohs and aahs that accompanied our meal made me somewhat self conscious in the end but such was the level of enjoyment they were truly difficulty to suppress.

My wife thought that the chocolate bavarois she enjoyed for her dessert was the crowning glory and my cheese board was diverse, interesting and full of fantastic flavours.

I don't pretend to be anything of a wine expert personally but the wine list was certainly broad and the sommelier recommended a wonderfully cheeky little number that complemented perfectly.

It will be fair to say that it is a place to have a curry, but the name doesnt go with the quality of food they serve.

I found the food very oily, tasteless, and not freshly made. In my opinion they survive only because cambridge is a tourist destination. I went to the Curry Garden with work colleagues and enjoyed everything about it, the restaurant is situated on Regent Street which is not far from the town centre.
We did not had to wait long for our food to arrive. The food was delicious from starter to desert. I came here with a group of friends and we all ordered several pasta dishes. Mine was an al forno dish, so cooked in the oven, but when it came out the size of it was almost a starter sized dish! Compared to everyone elses it was outrageous, and the price was more than some of the other dishes. I complained to the manager but all he could do was offer me something else off the menu, which ok i guess but doesn't explain why this meal was smaller than the others. I opted for something i had had before, penne pasta with pesto and chicken, although nice, it was something i could have easily cooked myself at home for half the price. Always love the food in here, service though can be really really slow, the only let down. Love the calzone folded pizzas and the pasta dishes are yummy too. Luckily this place has a great atmosphere and is always busy when you walk past it, i think thats why it does so well. The food however isn't amazing. Authentic Spanish tapas it is not. It is obviously microwaved food, but it isn't that bad. Sometimes things couold be heated up a bit better than they are, but usually the food is nice,even though you are left wondering what kind of a business runs its kitchen on microwaving meals (im sure they would deny it but its obvious on the sizes of the tapas that they are micro ready!) but they do pretty well on it and its a hit with the people in cambridge, especially those celebrating birthdays etc (although dont expect them to get your food bill right if there is more than 4 of you - they nearly always add something on that you didnt ask for or double things so check your bill religiously!!)

This place is now called the Depot, dont know why they changed the name as it doesn't really suit the place personally. This is located down a steep flight of stairs down Trinity Street in Cambridge, luckily this place serves food so your normally not falling down the stairs due to too much drink before hand as the food soaks it up! Great tapas style food, always love it in here. Great choice of different dishes from thai green curry to lamb kebabs, prawns in garlic, greek salad, fat chips, veggie dishes net always lots of things to try and you never tire of them. Great service too. Last time I came here for a few years ago but the food was gorgeous and the service not bad. Cute little thai restaurant in the centre of town, so location wise its handy for the bars afterwards. Have been here a few times and food is pretty good italian style dishes. The service here is better than the one in Newmarket I have to say. Have enjoyed the pizzas in here (although not as nice as pizza express) and the pasta dishes are usually really good. Salads are also pretty nice. Nothing that blows you away here but does the job and has a good wine list and desserts are pretty good too.Have been here a few times and food is pretty good italian style dishes. The food here is ok, nothing to rave about but it serves its purpose. I know some people would rate this highly (and they are the sorts that also love Burger King and McDonalds,.....) so its probably not meant for the likes of me to visit, although last time i went the food was ok, i shared tacos to start and we got a huge plate, portions are huge (probably why its so popular with a certain demographic) so you get full pretty quickly. Had a main of fajitas and chips and they weren't bad, although too many chips as always. Cooktails are nice here, service is ok, pretty slow at peak times but overall it isn't that bad here, although the Vine bar and kitchen just down the road is alot nicer in my opinion so dont really come here anymore.The food here is ok, nothing to rave about but it serves its purpose. I came here for a hen night and had a set meal of a starter main and dessert, but for Â£30 I thought was very steep indeed. Cant remember the starter (that memorable) the mian was chicken with frites, basically chicken and chips, but not as good as my local chip shop and no way near as good value, blatent rip off food maquerading as something classy and sophisticated when it clearly is not. Dessert was something equally memorable as i cant remember that, but felt like the night was expensive and the food wasn't as exciting as I'd been led to believe. I adore Wagamama's food, always think its quite healthy, although thats not always the case if you have a starter, main and dessert, but the premise is there! I always go for my favourite, Yaki Soba, never tire of it, also love the Chicken Katsu Curry, love the friendliness of the staff here, always happy to help you, food is served super quick and freshly made there and then and its always good value. Love the Jesus Lane branch of Pizza Express, especially if you get a table in the Libary room, not the conservatory, although its nice in the Conservatory, conversations bounce of the high glass ceiling like nobodies business and you cant really hear what your party is saying most of the time due to the noise. The libary is lovely though, really charming and adds to the quirkiness of this Pizza Express, alot nicer than other PE in cambridge. Again its pizza express, so no surprises what food is on offer, but you know you can rely on the food being consistent and good, and the service is always pretty good, bar a few times when it is very busy at peak periods, they usually handle it well. I went to Pizza Express for an anniversary meal with my partner - neither of us had been there before but both of us love Italian food and thought it would be an interesting mix of fast food restaurant/quality restaurant and we were both pleasantly surprised!

The building itself looks quite beautiful and inside is really rather posh, the staff dress nicely, the lighting is complementary, the tables are set beautifully and the decor is lovely.

We were quickly attended to and we didn't have to wait too long for our meals. There was a great range to choose from, it was actually hard to pick what to have but I went for a lasagne which was quite large and very filling, but very tasty indeed.

I went to Frankie and Benny's for the first time after hearing only good things about it. I adore Italian food and thought the style of this restaurant to be different to the usual candelit rustic style of a traditional Italian.

It was very busy and we got the only table left. The staff were really rushed off their feet but nobody got ignored and they managed to stay chatty and polite despite being so busy.

The prices were very reasonable and the portion sizes were amazing - I ordered a meatball calzone expecting just a normal sized one but it was massive and took over the entire plate. I really struggled to get through it but it was so delicious I couldn't leave it!

The menu selction was good, as was the dessert selection which I frankly was too full up from dinner to eat but went ahead and ordered some anyway just to try it out. I had the fudge cake which was out of this world, and again, a decent sized slice rather than the pitiful ones you so often find at restaurants nowadays!

The decor was lovely and the toilets were clean

There is a cinema practically right next door so you can fill yourself up before or after catching a movie. Perfect!

The only fault I found is that as it is so busy you had to shout at the other person otherwise you couldn't hear a word they were saying, so perhaps not the place for a quiet, romantic meal!

Well I used to go to pizza hut all the time as I was growing up but stopped going about 5 years ago. However I was in Cambridge 2 weeks ago and took my friend and my little boy there to celebrate her passing her theory test.
The pizza was nice, although they did skimp rather a lot on the meaty toppings, preferring to overload it with much cheaper vegetables instead. The kids meals were generously sized and relatively healthy (considering!) so I was pleased with that.
We both had a dessert, my friend had cheesecake and I had the fudge cake - the portions were much smaller than we expected seeing as they were rather expensive, we imagined they would be generous in portion.
The service was quick and friendly although the staff chose to have private conversations, rather loudly, right by our table and we heard words that were certainly not appropriate in a family restaurant.
The bill came and it was a lot higher than I imagined, I had forgotten we had ordered drinks - something I would definitely advise against doing if you can help it as the prices for drinks are extortionate.
