Not open until 9 AM??

I recently visited Kelsey Kerridge fitness and used a guest pass at this gym. The facilities were acceptable and the location was great for me, but I was shocked to learn they do not open until 9 am and have no intention to change that policy. Do they not realize that some of us have jobs and like to exercise in the morning? It would cost so little for them to have one or two staff on duty just to open up the place earlier so that customers could exercise in the early morning hours. But they just don't seem to care. Every other gym in town opens at 7 am. My advice is "Save your money, join a better facility that cares about the needs of its customers and is open at early hours."Not open until 9 AM??

I went there for my bridal appointment and was SERIOUSLY disappointed.

The consultant we saw was really pushy, and kept challenging me on my decisions. For example I asked to try on the first dress, which I did. When I said it wasn't quite right she told me "well you asked to try on a big one - what's wrong with it?". She wouldn't take no for an answer. In the end I had to said to her very firmly - "it's not right, I don't like it. Please can we try the next one". Considering I'm pretty laid back, and it was the first dress I tried on with Pronuptia (so it wasn't from me messing them around) I'm not sure where her challenging me came from - it certainly wasn't through her effort to help me find what I wanted. We ignored her - in the beginning, but it got worse. It kept happening - she kept pushing us into telling her exactly why - so we did! I told her when the dresses were cheap, or tarty - and when the quality was crap, or the seams scratchy. She wasn't impressed - but she did ask, so we were honest! It kept happening though - and after a while my bridesmaid started to stand up to her which she didn't like so they spent the next hour sniping at each other - it was a nightmare.

BIG WARNING - the changing area is open. I was asked if I minded a GUY being in there, and not realising what that involved I said I didn't mind. However, it meant he could see right into the changing rooms while I was naked from the waist up and it didn't matter how many times I asked them to pull the curtain, they kept telling me I had said it was "OK" ... so it was my fault (apparently!!!).

The changing rooms have no natural light so you can't see what the dress will really look like (I think this must be deliberate!!) they don't like you taking any drinks (water included) into the area in case you make a mess ... it was horrible. Horrible.

To top this all off - the dresses aren't even worth it. They are cheap quality and vastly overpriced. I found other dresses the same price, at a much better quality in several other places in the area.

All in all - rude, embarrassing, pushy, cheap.

For anyone considering this place, don't bother. Genuinely. It doesn't matter what your budget is, there are many other places where they will respect your wishes, value your custom and treat you with respect.

Rating: 0.00CD is appropriately named because seedy is exactly what it is. It consists of a small converted semi-detached on a council estate. The kitchen and bathroom would be more befitting of student accomodation than B&B. The whole ambience of the place is run down and unfinnished and it is extorionately priced. You can easily walk all the way to the village of Grantchester from Cambridge - it's only a couple of miles along the banks of the pretty river Granta.

Expect to see lots of students punting up the river at a happy walking pace beside you with picnics on board (a punt is a special Cambridge boat).

Anyway, after your walk you'll be ready for a Perfect with a capital 'P' English tea at the Orchard. And the thing is, it really is an orchard! You collect a tray with classic cakes or cream tea and stretch out in deckchairs amongst ancient gnarled apple trees and have a lovely happy time.

As a frequent traveller, I have reason to eat in many "fine" dining establishments throughout the year and really very few ever prompt me to write reviews. Alimentum is an expectation to that.

It is an exception because it was such a truly memorable experience.

Memorable from the the moment I walked through the door and took in the delightfully tasteful, modern, yet welcoming ambiance and decor of the place. A pretty modern shell of a building has been internally transformed into a chic, impressive and still somehow understated surround.

The welcome from the staff was extremely professional, polite and attentive whilst not being overly forced. This set the scene for the service throughout the remainder of my stay.

Onto the fare - well, I can honestly say that I have to trawl my memory banks to recall a better prepared and thought through culinary experience.

I had had a salmon and crab starter which was sublime in both taste and texture and my partner had breast and tongue of lamb with anchovy which looked amazing and apparently tasted even better.

For mains I enjoyed a most exquisitely prepared sirloin and my partner the fillet and belly of pork. Both looked sensational on the plate the taste explosion was bordering on the surreal.

The many oohs and aahs that accompanied our meal made me somewhat self conscious in the end but such was the level of enjoyment they were truly difficulty to suppress.

My wife thought that the chocolate bavarois she enjoyed for her dessert was the crowning glory and my cheese board was diverse, interesting and full of fantastic flavours.

I don't pretend to be anything of a wine expert personally but the wine list was certainly broad and the sommelier recommended a wonderfully cheeky little number that complemented perfectly.

It will be fair to say that it is a place to have a curry, but the name doesnt go with the quality of food they serve.

I found the food very oily, tasteless, and not freshly made. In my opinion they survive only because cambridge is a tourist destination. I went to the Curry Garden with work colleagues and enjoyed everything about it, the restaurant is situated on Regent Street which is not far from the town centre.
We did not had to wait long for our food to arrive. The food was delicious from starter to desert. This place is great if you are looking to order an Indian delivery as this is a take away and not a restaurant. The food is 'proper Indian food' and is very reasonably priced. The chef is always happy to cook the food to suit your taste. I would recommend this place to people who like good Indian food, I have personally eaten at most of the over priced Indian restaurants in Cambridge and would rate this place as being the best if you want to enjoy your meal without an upset stomach afterward.....You cant expect great service from this place but if your main priority is quality of food when choosing a place to eat, then you wont be disappointed here!This place is great if you are looking to order an Indian delivery as this is a take away and not a restaurant. It's a plain-looking takeaway but the chef is formerly of The Dorchester Hotel, apparently, and it shows in the quality of the food. I really liked The Castle, but I wasn't too keen on the prices. The cider was gorgeous and the staff were really friendly, but being used to Newcastle prices, I thought paying over Â£3 for a pint was rather excessive! However, the pub was lovely and the beer garden even nicer - the weather was boiling and it was lovely to sit outside with a cold pint in hand. The food at The Castle is also very nice - the fish burger especially. The pub was very very busy at about 6pm on a Thursday night, with people finishing work and popping in for a drink and a bite to eat.I really liked The Castle, but I wasn't too keen on the prices. I visited The Mitre with a couple of friends whilst on holiday in Cambridge in July, and I've got to say that I wasn't unimpressed. The pub was pleasant, both inside and out, and served a wide and delicious range of food. I even bought a jar of chutney to take home with me! The chicken pie was gorgeous, as was the platter that my companions ordered. The price of a pint of cider was very reasonable for Cambridge, as we found the majority of pubs very, very expensive. I came here with a group of friends and we all ordered several pasta dishes. Mine was an al forno dish, so cooked in the oven, but when it came out the size of it was almost a starter sized dish! Compared to everyone elses it was outrageous, and the price was more than some of the other dishes. I complained to the manager but all he could do was offer me something else off the menu, which ok i guess but doesn't explain why this meal was smaller than the others. I opted for something i had had before, penne pasta with pesto and chicken, although nice, it was something i could have easily cooked myself at home for half the price. Good thing about this place is its pretty low key, it is what it is and doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. Usually a good selection of wines and beers, food is pretty good here, shame the seats arn't so comfortable, but its not somewhere you usually stay all night, a good place to have a few drinks (with no screaming children at weekends too) kick back and relax for a bit and then move on, or go home, depending on what night it is!Good thing about this place is its pretty low key, it is what it is and doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. Don't go here unless your in the vicinity and desperate for the toilet, even then you'll have a long wait and most likely there will be no toilet paper or soap, nor will the hand dryers work and there will be throngs of girlls dressed in next to nothing screaming and shouting as you make your way in to the ladies,.....nice.
As for the atmosphere in the pub, there is none, more atmosphere in the toilets, if thats your thang.
Drink, well if you can get served at some point in the next century, is pretty average, cheap and average, if thats your thing. I always wonder if anyone gets sick from drinking the beer that they sell as it is close to the sell by date (thats why its so cheap).
