I love Pieminister, I will treat myself eveyr once in a whlie when I am at Stokes Croft or in St Nicks Market.

I have tried maybe 6 different pies but I always stick to one now- the Chicken of Aragon. With Pie and Mash a typical meal will cost you around £5 which is great. If it was in a more posh restaurant I'd probably be happy paying double that!

, though the market venue costs slightly more and often has less selection and runs out of pies near the end of the day!

There are a few other Pieminister type establishments, I went to one up parkstreet and the quality was pretty similar.

This place is open till late so its a goodplace to stop after a night down town. The chicken is very cheap but to be honest I don't find it much different to any other chicken joint. New Taj is easy to get to being on the famous Gloucester Road or as I think it should be called the "Curry Road". It has been around for years and never dissapoints me in terms of portion size, value for money and the sheer dream come true for tastebuds. They seem to always be innovating at this place which I like - they brought a new indian dish out called the Flu-indaloo and they always have new offers on. They now have a new menu which has much better descriptions than most other menus I have seen and they also have a website: www.newtaj.co.uk so you can order from work and pick up on way home which is what I usually do. Red Mullet.....where do i start. Firstly i would like to say what an amazing and lovely place to eat your food or take it home. What an amazing variety of food they have. such as = fish,currys,grilled foods and noddles all freshly made to order. When me and my friend went there for the first time we did not know what to choose. I had the lemon pepper cod and he had the mexican big daddy burger, which he could'nt finish because it was so big. But the lemon pepper cod wich was so tasty and like nothing i have had before.

This KFC Restaurant is located in West Bristol, next to the Bristol City Football Ground. I have found the staff to be helpful & courteous, & the food is usually of a high standard, especially during busy periods.
Being a KFC, there is only a choice of coated chicken in it's various forms, but as long as that is not a problem then there is quite a variety of meals on offer, ranging from single-person meals & children's meals to buckets of food for whole families.
There is also a drive-through on site, which is open later than the main restaurant.

This McD's is in a great location - very near The Mall at Cribbs and also Asda and Morrisons.

Not only that, it offers a drive-thru plus a kid's play area which let's your little ones burn off some pent up energy!

They do sauce a little differently here - instead of sauce sachets there are pumps so you can take as much BBQ or tomato sauce etc as you can handle!

Whenever i've been here there's never been any real queues and we could get a table easily enough.

The drive-thru is what you'd expect and again the queues are not excessive. Rating: 4.00This is a takeaway only (no restaurant), slightly out of the way (unless you live in Stoke Gifford...), but worth the 10 minute drive from ours (were you thinking of popping over?). Weâ¬"ve had a takeaway from here many times, and itâ¬"s always ready nice and quick, and they serve it in those plastic pots which are so handy to keep. The crispy seaweed is yummy and the chicken served is moist. The beef isnâ¬"t always as tender as Iâ¬"d like, and Iâ¬"ve had better crispy shredded beef elsewhere, but theyâ¬"re minor issues really (unless you only eat beef...).
Oh, and donâ¬"t forget your prawn crackers!

better than mcdonalds in the city centre...and this BK does ice cream unlike the one in the galleries!

its been done up since the photograph and now has a very much american diner look. Never appeards to be too busy in there with plenty of seating down and upstairs so it avoids some of that horrible overcrowding you can getin some fast food places.

staff are always spedy and polite, and the place is always kept nice and clean :)

If you've ever been in a Subway, you'll know it's not so much a choosing of a sandwich as the construction of a small feast!
Oops, did I say sandwich? How ignorant of me, it is of course a 'Sub', as in a submarine roll which has now appeared in supermarkets all over the country. For the rest of us, it's a plain old long bread roll! But.........................

It's never as easy as that! The first thing you did is decide what size Sub you want, 6" or a foot long (by the way, according to the bbc website the UK leads the way in seeing innuendos in everything!) Easily enough apparently, but no, now you have to choose the type of bread. There is:

Italian (White) Bread
Wheat Bread
Parmesan Oregano Bread
Honey Oat
Hearty Italian Bread
Italian Herbs & Cheese

Personally, I always go for the ordinary Italian bread, or Herb and Cheese, I'm not a huge fan of wheat bread, I find the Hearty Italian a bit stodgy and personally, I've not seen the Parmesan Oregano bread yet. The bread is baked in store every morning, and if you're lucky enough to get there early you'll have it all nice and warm! Although it could be argued its not freshly baked as it's part-baked, delivered frozen and then finished off. They also never seem to have enough of anything over than the Italian bread, so get there late in the afternoon and you'll be restricted to that!

They've also started doing wraps, but its just not the same, and to be honest they don't put enough filling in them so you end up with mostly a mouth of stodgy wrap.

So you get your size, you've got the bread, what do you put in it? Well this is where it gets difficult! There's no just walking in here, picking one of the shelf, paying and leaving, nope its far more difficult! So you choose your basic filling:

Chicken & Bacon Ranch - Chicken breast strips, cheddar cheese, bacon
Italian BMTTM - Genoa salami, pepperoni, ham, cheese
Meatball Marinara - Hot meatballs in marinara sauce, cheese
Spicy Italian - Genoa salami, pepperoni
Subway MeltTM - Sliced turkey breast, ham, bacon, melted cheese
Steak & Cheese - Hot steak, onions and peppers, melted cheese
Tuna - Do I really have to explain this one?
Veggie PattyTM - I'm really not sure whats in this and haven't been able to find out either!

Personally I always go for the Steak and Cheese, although the onions and peppers are indistinguishable the steak is definalty very nice, and the Meatball Marinara is only to be attempted when you're not wearing your best clothes or out on a date! The sauce is very messy, drips everywhere and the meatballs are a little too large to bite into comfortably! But by gawd, its lovely!
Then (it's a long process this), you can choose the salad, lettuce, cucumber, sweetcorn, peppers, onion, pickles and olives, just choose one or all of them.
And you think you're done! But alas no! Now is the choice of dressings.
Salt and pepper, light mayonnaise, Chipotle Southwest dressing, Ranch dressing, Sweet Onion dressing, HP sauce, and Honey Mustard. Personally the Sweet Onion is fabulous, if only they sold bottles of the stuff!
You can also choose to have them toasted so the cheese goes all nice and melted!

But a word of warning, these options are not low fat, Steak and Cheese are your best bet at 336kc and 9.8g of fat per 6" serving up to 461kcal and 26.1g for the Spicy Italian!

But aha!, you thought choosing the above was difficult to choose from? Well, there's another range of ingredients to choose from with less than 6grams of fat per 6" serving!

This one is no exception....except if you go to the shopping area at Avonmead you wont be able to see it. Theres mysterious signs to it but they seem to direct you to the back of the train yard....which is precisely where it is, just under the flyover.

The place itself is brightly lit, but not the area around it, and to be honest, I'm a little bit wary of going down there particularly in the evenings unless accompanied!

But inside, its very brightly lit, very clean and tidy, and the employees are very efficient and friendly.
I remember the days when all you could get was the chicken and the fries, accompanied by the ever present gravy! Now they do a huge range of burgers and wraps and the chicken pieces are almost secondary!
Personally I always go for the 'box' meals where you get the burger, a piece of chicken, a side order and fries. These usually retail for about Â£4.50 and in my opinion are far more pocket friendly than a McD's burger meal.

So the Emma family choices at the mo are:
Fillet Tower: a bun filled with Breast of chicken, lettuce, cheese, a hash brown, mayo and ketchup
Zinger tower: as above with spciy chicken
BBQ Wrap: Tortilla filled with strips of chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and a BBQ sauce.
And plain old KFC chicken in various depending on how huhgey he's feeling!

The sandwiches weren't cheap and the filling I had was very nice but for the price you could easily buy a good sandwich from M&S and have change to spare. I wasn't persuaded by the range of fillings either going for the age old egg mayo. We have yet to discover a better pizzaria in Bristol, but have in this instance stopped looking, because we think we've found it...! -It takes the trophy!
