Cannons Health Club opened a couple of years ago, above the Fresh & Wild supermarket on Queens Road. I joined on opening, & was impressed by the facilities & lay-out. It is not the biggest gym, but they have made good use of the space. Lots of gym machines, weight area, spinning area, & two studio classes, together with a supervised swimming pool, sauna & steam room. There is also a beauty salon upstairs, but this is pricey & hence I have never tried it.
