they are infested with mice - i know someone who works there! and they have ants in the boudoir!
they also charge way over the odds for repackaging happy shopper chocolates and sweets.

This is the first food review I wrote in my life but, when you are served like the one I ate last night in this restaurant, I think you have a duty to let everyone else knows what you think of it: the food in this restaurant is awful. Whenever I come down from London for the weekend I always make time to go to Grints! They use proper coffee and fresh ingredients in all their products. They are one of the only coffee shops in Brighton open at 7 in the morning. I went here using the 2 people eat for Â£10 argus paper voucher they did quite recently. The food was very good, and the waiter we had was fantastic, he was very flamboyant and eccentric, he even gave me a 2nd glass of wine free. I like his style. I certainly would go here again. Nice and close to the sea. I had a starter, main and dessert, all tasted great and were cooked and prepared well. Not too sure what there normal menu is like, but I do recommend the place. What can I say, it is cheap, it is cheerful, it is always very busy. This is right in the centre or Brighton in the Lanes area. Of the 30 odd times I have been here, I have never had a bad experience, they do great set menus, they have so many tables and covers I am amazed at how they do it. There are usually special offer vouchers in the local papers, so be sure to check those out before visting. Always a fun and lively place, the staff are friendly enough and you will not be disappointed.What can I say, it is cheap, it is cheerful, it is always very busy. I almost do not want to leave a review as then everyone else will know the best kept secret about this being the best Italian restaurant in my view in Sussex. A great venue hidden away in Kemp Town, we have had many a special occasion meal here. We once spent over Â£80 for 2 of us, but we did go for the whole lot, starter, main, dessert, after drinks, nice wine, but there are by far cheaper options to be had. The service is fantastic, the food is out of this world. I have fond memories from my experiences here and really do say visit and you will not be dissapointed. We decided to go here as it is owned by the same people that run Alforno's, it was not a particularly busy night but service was lacking. The waiter that served us, if he was a waiter? It looked like he was a kitchen staff member brought us our main course, mine was a pizza. He had flour all over his hands and his crotch and back side where he had obviously had an itch. He dumped the plates on the table and walked off. That momement and the suspect trouser markings put us off ever going back again. Food did not taste too bad, bit pricey and up itself. I stayed at the Hotel Du Vin recently on a business trip. It is situated just off the seafront by Brighton Pier, very central location.
The interior is lovely, in a refurbished old building, done up to very high standards. The theme of wine runs through the hotel (e.g. room names). The rooms themselves are spacious; the bathrooms are well equipped with a huge walk-in shower and separate bath.
Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Breakfast was nice, too. Chose from a wide variety of food from full English to different breads, fruit, cereal etc.

I was fortunate enough to stay in the Hotel Du Vin last week when in Brighton on business, and the restaurant was great.

Lots of fish and seafood on the menu, and everybody in our party really enjoyed their meals.

Most people hear about this Kemp town cafÃ© because of the tables â¬ each has a unique feature, from a musical salt cellar to a working model of Brighton Pier complete with wave machine. Get past this (admittedly wonderful) gimmick however, and youâ¬"ll find excellent (Belgian/Yorkshire??) food, and a warm welcome from the couple nominally in charge. They also have regular extravagant-sounding musical evenings: Jane Bom-Bane sings songs â¬Sabout things around the cafÃ©, and about the foodâ¬

Careful what you wish for children, too many choccy bars and sweets blended in to a lumpy shake will make you feel sick. However if you stick to just one or two things that will compliment each other then you will get all the enjoyment and none of the dodgy after effects. This place has a constant stream of willing victims and some of the concoctions on offer are great. I would recommend a dave, its a type of named shake that is on offer, though I have always wanted to try turkish delight and dark chocolate and never been brave enough. You could spend a fortune in there, they average around Â£3 to Â£3.75, so not cheap. Is this a true rival for choccy woccy doodah across the road, well honestly yes, it is, a cheaper rival with less imagination, but jolly tasty never the less. We usually look longingly at the over priced under rated creations in the former shop, then nip in to this one for some thing a bit more fairly priced. The king sized chocolate buttons are lovely and come in white, milk and a nice dark chocolate. The chili chocolate is good too. Some times they have also had chocolate dipped strawberries which are nice. Brighton pier looks good when all the lights are on at night, as you drive along the main sea front road. It is free to go on to the pier for a walk or to take in the other sights and sounds that it has to offer. We found that basic pier fayre such as doughnuts, ice cream etc, were a little over priced, but its not like you eat them all the time. There are rides and a pub too, if thats your thing. You do get great views if you can be bothered to walk on a bit longer, but thats about it really. The se life centre at brighton sea front is a little over priced. THe entrance fee is way too high for families as there is just not enough to see or do there. Your visit would ta ke around an hour and a half at the most and places like colchester zoo which have an entrance fee of only slightly more give you a whole days entertainment. The building which the centre occupies, is very interesting and has a lot of history to it, but on the whole we found it a little lacking. Ii is very close to the sea front and there is parking near by. We would not go again but can say we have seen it. The high light was the beautiful turtle that is there at the centre and the large pool it is housed in, with a tunnel you can walk under to view the fish etc swimming above, other wise there is not much you haven t seen, london aquarium is better. We have been to brighton so many times and each time failed to visit the royal pavilion. This visit we finally went to see what all the fuss was about and we were delighted by what we saw. The exterior is amazing but you do take it for granted a bit when driving past it on brightons busy roads. The interior has some truly stunning rooms. Much of the pavilion has been restored to its former glory but lots of the original features remain. The main dining hall is staggeringly beautiful and over the top, the chandeliers are breath taking. It is all in an approximation of oriental style, dragons, snakes, bamboo, etc are every where. But the former owner was the prince regent and laterly the king, so it is to be expected. Queen Victoria did not like it, but we did. This is one of my very favourite coffee shops in the whole of Brighton for two main reasons: the AMAZING hot chocolate and the SCRUMPTIOUS carrot cake! These are my two staple choices whenever I'm in this part of Kemptown. Trust me, you've gotta try The Red Roaster's hot chocolate drink - it's not the usual water and powdered sachet stuff you normally get, but an orgasmic, thick, delicious, heart attack of creamy liquid chocolate. The Red Roaster has a lovely Sunday Afternoon, Read The Papers kind of atmosphere. The Earth & Stars Pub is tucked away just off Queens Road in Brighton - I used to always have some difficulty locating it when totally sober! I really like going for a pint at this pub because they have a great menu that's good value - good quality, freshly made, home-made tasting pub grub like doorstopper sandwiches and chips and burgers! This pub is popular with all sorts: students, people after work, locals and old men lol. I discovered this greek restaurant/taverna while on a day out in Brighton. Even though it's on the main road facing the beach it's really easy to miss, however it is a real hidden gem and thoroughly recommended. I am Greek and have lived in Greece for thirty years, so I know my Greek food when I see it, and this is as close to authentic as no other Greek restaurant I have ever dined at. The choice of food is overwhelming but everything was cooked to brilliant quality. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed, and the waiting staff were very friendly. The mezedes were flavoursome and the portions very generous. I would recommend "gigantes plaki", runner beans cooked in red sauce, moussaka and many of the salads. I had dinner here some time last year... but despite thoroughly enjoying the food it somehow ended up being almost a year before I ventured back in.

I won't be as slow for next time though!

The is a great little restaurant - a lovely menu and friendly staff. Though small, two sides of the restaurant are pretty much full length windows - perfect for watching the world go by.

My last visit was a breakfast trip. I had eggs benedict - huge english muffins (I think homebaked) with beautiful smokey bacon and poached eggs done just as I asked (no egg snot!) I couldn't finish it - which is very unusual for me! The coffee was very very good - I'd go back there for breakfast for the brew alone! Breakfast is served until 1pm - next time I'll be trying the smoked haddock to see if it matches what I'm used to in Scotland ;)
