Awful restaurant,very bossy Manager who would not let us have a drink at the bar before our meal,insisted that we sat at a table! Ordered stuffed mushrooms it arrived with 2 mushrooms closed cup mushrooms at that so hardly big,another of our party had poached pears and prosuitto salad to start and it took all of 2 mouthfulls to eat,pears were tinned! Soup was cold,and mains decidedly average.Desserts were slightly better,cheesecake with summer berries had half a strawberry as the 'berries' misleading to say the least,wont be wasting my money there again

We visited Casa for the 3rd time for our sons 18th Birthday. He was very impressed with the setting, the food and especially the lovely waitress's. Since our visit i recommended it to my neighbour who came back with bad reports of rats & mice being around and it being dirty. We have never seen anything of the sort, considering where it is, i could understand it, It is certainly not dirty. The food is beautiful and very hot. The portions are plentiful and presented very well. Believe me, we eat out at many different places and would not re-visit if it was so bad. As for the owner, he's a star, polite, friendly and very chatty. Make your own mind up. DO NOT listen to bad reviews, everyones tastes are different, as are peoples standards!!! We have been to Armytages several times in the last few months. The food is fairly basic but very nice and not too expensive. They offer an extensive menu including 3 sorts of steak, Ribeye, Sirloin and Rump with various additions. They have an extensive choice of other items such as scampi, chicken, prawns and Tipsy Pie. The sweets are also a treat especially the Fudge Mountain. You need to get there early on a Weekend to get a table as they fill up fast and there can be up to an hours wait for food due to the popularity of the placeWe have been to Armytages several times in the last few months. I won't bother writing a long review as quite frankly I won't waste my exceedingly precious time. The place is nice, the food is nice although over-priced. I can only imagine that the staff are selected on a basis of how miserable and rude they can be. Try catch the Early Bird menu, it's great! We made a big mistake in going in to this take away! The person behind the counter didn't even bother saying hello or hi, he just asked for the order and shout the order out to the cheif! very unprofessional! The man then left us without saying a word. We were amazed to witness that the person who served us suddenly went outside and was spitting on the public pavement! we were very angry and wanted to say something but then just kept quite. How discusting this is! The food soon arrived. Talking about the food it was not worth mentioning at all, it was just dreadful! would never go back there again. A big sprawling location, situated away from the hustle and bustle of a town, but close enough to the M62 motorway to make this an ideal meeting point.
A good selection of drinks available, draught lagers and beers as well as the wine list and bottled drinks too.
meals are of good quality, not too expensive. Portions are of a nice size, you are not over faced.
There is plenty of room to sit inside, for both drinkers and diners alike.
A big car park means there is no lack of parking spaces. There is also a great outdoor drinking seating area, ideal for when the sun is out.
Service here is friendly and polite. The decor is traditional, as befitting the building.
The toilets were spotlessly clean and tidy.

If you love chinese food you should go to this restaurant. The food is delicious, and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely evening here, and will certainly be going again. There is a wide choice of dishes on the menu, and they also provide a home delivery take-away service. When you've lived with your partner for a year or two things start to settle down. The excitement and fun turns into chores and repetativeness. The romance fades away and those long, lingering glances over the dinner table burn your eye lashes on the candles!

That sums up my first experiance of 'La Romantica'. There was nothing about the visit that I could complain about. But, like an old married couple, there was no twinkly in the restaurants eye, no stroking of my tastebuds and no long lingering glances as the waiters carried meals between the kitchen and their guests.

The food at La Romantica was alright. That just about sums it up. It was standard Italian. Edible, well presented but very forgetful.

The service, while sharp from start to finish, wasn't joined up. One waiter didn't know what the other was doing. There was no order to the service. It was like a day on the Eastenders market, with one trader covering someone elses stall while a third looked after his.

I think I'll stick to Emmerdale in future, for a bit more of a rustic flavour!

Forgive the title, it was the best pun I could find late at night.

Meze is a Turkish/Greek restaurant with a large ranging menu. The food was glorious, but the price reflected it and then some!

Service was spot-on, I couldn't have asked for better, the 10% service charge added to the bill covers that.

Have a look at the website for the full menu and pictures. It's a nicely decorated restaurant, really happy, friendly staff. Great atmosphere and fantastic food. Beware though, the toilets are tiny and if you're more than about six years old you'll struggle to get into them!

We arrived at 1900 on a Saturday night, without a reservtion and were sat immediately, (but how busy it is when the Rugby World Cup final isn't on I'm not sure). We couldn't ask for better service or food, my chicken and my partners salmon were both cooked to perfection.

I found this place on Google whilst skiving a few minutes at work and decided to take my partner & 2 year old daughter out for a meal when I got home.

The building started out life in the 1700's as a farm and bacame a coaching house around the middle of the centuary (according to their website). With 250 years of experience I was expecting a good meal in a nice, friendly restaurant.

I was not disappointed.

A clean, nicely decorated and spacious interior welcomed us. Our host quickly brought over a highchair for my daughter and a drawing toy, a bit like the etch-a-scetch we all used to have, for her to play with.

The menu looked delicious too. 'Old Favourites' such as fish and chips or bangers and mash sit nicely alongside steaks, 'Sizzler Platters' and salads. I felt spoiled for choice and just had to bite the bullet and pick something when the waiter came around for the second time!

A lot of the menu options are also available in smaller potions, at discounted rates for children and pensioners too. Much better I think than having a seperate kids menu with unhealthy microwave options just to keep the kids quiet and the parents happy!

There are three real ales on offer (however the one that I wanted wasn't on when I visited) and an extensive wine list.
They also have regular events with quiz nights, psychic nights and a Mexican night once a month.
