I have frequented this venue many times esp since it serves south Indian food. In all fairness the food esp the dosas have been average. The non veg items are not consistent in terms of quantity and taste. I am afraid that late - evening meals tend to be hurried and not well prepared.

The service is courteous but needs to improve with regard to waiting times this is actually quite ridiculous when compared with other restaurant services.

I think there is alot of room for improvement. Reduced waiting times. Tasty food with decent portions, esp takeout the quality and quantity is not worth the amt of money paid for it.

Lively, warm, wounderfull food. The meat is well grilled, not too dry. The music is wounderfull and sometimes they also play South African music. Would recommend the place to anyone. You wount regret it. Its not always as full as the others in town. Its worth it. No matter where you go in the world, all Nados places maintain the best service.Lively, warm, wounderfull food. I couldn't agree more with the other disappointed customer. I visited Zorbas in Olton and loved it - this was awful. No entertainment, tasteless food, no choice of menu, overpriced, and they never even offered us our desserts or coffees which were included in the price. And a very drunk bar man as well. Called the next day at which point the manager told me I was wrong - the entertainment didn't come because it was raining (!). He put the phone down on me, and when I called back saying talk to me now or I will come into the restaurant, he threatened to have me arrested!!! The food is BOOM and and everything on the menu is delicious.Been here on a reguler basis now and the food just seems to get better everytime.The milkshakes are superb aswell especially the Abushake I think im addicted to it.

Myself and my partner went, it was very quiet but it was a Wednesday afternoon.
The waitress explained what Tapas was and left us the menu.
We ordered and didn't have to wait long for the food, which was absolutely beautiful.
We took advantage of their 2 for Â£10 offer. 5 tapas dishes for Â£10.
Between us we had fried Calamari, Meatballs in tomato sauce, Chorizo in red wine sauce, lightly marinated chicken wings, battered white fish strips, Patatas Bravas with cheese.
And for pudding we had Churro with fresh fruit and chocolate fondue.
A nice authentic Spanish Tapas bar with efficient polite staff.

While the food was nice and the location central, the service in this restaurant is appalling. We had paid our bill but had only just ordered a last round of beers and were asked on several occasions by at least 3 of the staff to vacate the table for the next customers. The staff here are rude and have absolutely no idea about customer service.

Been here twice now and on both visits the food and service has been exceptional. Not cheap but worth every penny, particularly the excellent value lunch.

Number 55 Station Street (not No 59).

Want to experience a different range of Chinese dishes? BBQ Village has a very extensive menu, including many vegetarian and vegan dishes that you will be unlikely to come across elsewhere. Itâ¬"s also incredibly reasonably priced â¬ a large range of starters on sticks for Â£1. I think there was only one vegan dish although that was delicious â¬ spicy potato slices â¬ 3 good sized slices coated with cumin seeds and chilli, barbecued till crisp on the outside â¬ really unusual and very tasty.

For my main course I had one of the best tofu dishes Iâ¬"ve ever had in a Chinese restaurant - I believe it was called sizzling bean curd with peppers â¬ they didnâ¬"t have any takeaway leaflets so I canâ¬"t verify the names. I had a shredded potato dish instead of rice, and one of the several Chinese greens dishes; my favourite ong choi.

I could have returned to this restaurant five or six times and had different dishes each day. Because I arrived quite late and had an early start the next day, I didnâ¬"t really check the meat or fish dishes but the restaurant was quite full â¬ 80% Chinese customers â¬ and most had ordered non-vegetarian dishes. With over 100 to choose from, thereâ¬"d be something for everyone. I didnâ¬"t have the time to check how ethical the non-vegetarian dishes were.

Cost â¬ for three very large servings, plus starter, plus 2 drinks - Â£26. I dined off what I took away for 2 days! Â£30 would buy enough food and drink for 2 people. Service â¬ very friendly and helpful staff (checked with chef to ensure my choices were vegan). Recommendation â¬ make an evening of it and book to see an art film at the Electric - the oldest working cinema a few doors away at No 49, and finish the evening off by ordering a selection of different dishes from your norm at the BBQ Village at No 55.Number 55 Station Street (not No 59).

Great food, loads of choice, and reasonably priced.

The cocktails are the best in Brum! fresh ingredients used. No cartoned juices , all the juice used are fresh which makes a big difference.

Weâ¬"d seen the restaurant each time weâ¬"d passed it on the number 16 bus for the past year, and were intrigued by the idea of Lebanese-Syrian food, but for some reason, weâ¬"d never visited until this evening.
Weâ¬"re glad we went! We asked the waiter to make some recommendations, and were grateful that we had, as the â¬Ümazzaâ¬" (billed as â¬Üstartersâ¬", but in fact were more than a full meal by themselves) were absolutely superb. There was a selection of (possibly more than) seven dishes, some hot, some cold, but each one prepared that day with absolutely fresh ingredients, and delicately spiced. These included the familiar hummus, the less-familiar moutabal (tenderly smoked aubergine with sesame paste and lemon juice), kibbeh (balls of lamb, minced), a fresh and fragrant tabbouleh and fattoush salads, generous borack pastries with minced lamb and haloumi cheese. This was accompanied by a generous basket of griddle-cooked soft, puffy breads. Everything was prepared to perfection.
We didnâ¬"t need a main course, but the staff accommodated our wishes for a â¬Ürestâ¬" between course. We then launched into the â¬Ümainâ¬" course of â¬Ümixed grillâ¬", which, in fact, was a â¬Ükebabâ¬" selection of two different types of chicken, marinated minced lamb and fillet of lamb. Accompanying this was a departure from the Syrian-Lebanon theme - couscous, with a lightly-spiced thick vegetable sauce and (optional) garlic sauce. It reminded me of an Algerian sauce Iâ¬"d tried once. We loved it.
We are ashamed to say that at first we chose not to opt for a dessert, assuming that these were â¬Übought inâ¬", as is the case in so many restaurants. We were assured, nevertheless that the small selection of desserts was home-made. Two portions arrived with a pot of freshly-brewed green and mint tea). This was the highlight of the evening. The baklava was absolutely the very best weâ¬"d ever tasted â¬ utterly unlike any of the ersatz baklavas served anywhere else. This was light and creamy, and not too sweet at all. And all prepared with absolutely the finest fresh ingredients.
What was particularly good about Syriana is that the staff are very sincere and pleasant, without being obtrusive or overpowering. It was delightful to that the chef came to talk to us about his food, and to ask whether we had enjoyed the meal. He was only to happy to explain about the food culture of Syria.
For all this, the bill came to under Â£30, including drinks. (Alcohol is available, but we did not feel the need on this occasion â¬ the food was too exquisite to think of wine or beer!)
We came away thrilled to have found a place where we would be happy to make a weekly visit, but disappointed and kicking ourselves that we had not tried it sooner.
There is a lack of genuinely authentic restaurants in Birmingham, and Syriana deserves to be up there in the top five. We will certainly be revisiting very soon!

I went with a party of 16 people, so that required us to put down a deposit of Â£5 per head when the booking was made. Food was nice but there was quite a wait for it. I Had the most enjoyable experiance with in the jimmy spices establishment, all the staff where incredibly helpful! && i feel that the jimmy spices concept is great !!!
