Popped into the Gosta last week and there was a live band The Benwahs on doing an acoustic set. Checked them out on myspace and they're not half bad. A client and i had a lunch at utopia the bar we found the service good and fast it was a busy lunch and we had'nt booked but we were seated reasonably quick we gave our drinks order and food order the drinks arrived promptly. There was a slight wait for the mains but we accepted that as it was a busy lunch my client had the snapper with chorizo rissotto and i had the fish finger sandwich with a bowl of big chips and they were BIG chips. I was in this bar earlier in the week and was ripped off by the staff. This appeared to be deliberate.

In short, I ordered some drinks to a total value of just below £10, paid with a £20 note and was given change for only £10. My first thought was that this was an innocent mistake, so I queried it straight away before the change was even in my hand. The barman was less than helpful, the duty manager worse. I argued my point, even asked them to check the CCTV (I was right in view of their camera) but was told I couldn't prove anything so it was my tough luck.

My suspicion is that the duty manager was involved in the deception, though I have no real way of knowing.
