Many a great experience I've had here. I simply cant say enough good words about whats it like being here. The atmosphere, especially in the Holte end is second to none. This is a crowd that always has, and always will get well and truly behind their/our Villa. Its been a while since I came, simply because of the financial reasons behind it. Going to see Premier League football isn't cheap anymore, but thats the price you have to pay. I do try to come a few times a year though because it is so good, especially when the Villa are doing well, just like now. This is quite simply (in my arrogant opinion anyway) the bestest, and greatest stadium in the football world. Over the years the emphasis has changed from displaying British wildlife to now endangered wildlife and animals from all over the world. They really do make the most of their space offering similar exhibits to several zoos including Red Panda, Lemur, Lynx, Otters, Porcupine and Meerkat but they also have lesser seen rare animals including Beever, Mouflon, Wildcat and much more.

The ammenities are fair with reasonably but not great food but there are plenty of picnic tables for you to bring your own food if you choose. Admission is great value with so much to see and do but check the website for their opening times and costs as it does vary throughout the year.I've loved this place since I was tiny! The Nature Centre is a little known wonder at the back of Cannon Hill Park. Infact I'm due for another trip now as they have recently opened the turtle sanctuary! They have lots of fascinating exhibits, the underwater walkthrough tunnel, the otters and sea horses are my favourites. I find the underwater tunnel an incredible place - it's so much fun to see turtles, sharks and fish swimming above your head. I've gone with countless family members and children. Some of the children start off unimpressed by the thought of seeing lots of fish (although they are interested in seeing the pirahnas and the octopus) but come away so excited after the tunnel and having a turtle or shark swim by them! The otters are absolutely adorable - although it's hit or miss if they are awake when you drop by. If they are asleep it'll be worth looking at all the other animals and then popping back to see them. The ray tank is also very impressive and usually manned by Sea Life Centre staff who reveal interesting facts about their animals.

I agree with a previous reviewer that it's expensive BUT a simple way to avoid this is to go to sites like lastminute.com or visit the library to get discounted tickets which are available most of the year (except around school holidays.)

It is a fantastic attraction in a great spot so why not make a day of it and grab a bite to eat somewhere on the canal or further up Broad Street.

I love the Sealife Centre - I go every couple of years when they launch a new exhibit. The place basically incorporates two attractions, first is 'Thinktank' which has taken over from the old birmingham science museum. It is an educational 'hands on' science museum and has things like learning about medical techniques and how the body works to how appliances work such as microwaves etc, there are also exhibits about birmingham and its history along with real steam engines and a real size spitfire hanging from the ceiling. The other major attraction in the building is an imax cinema screen, it has a 50 ft screen and most of its films are in 3 dimensions, you are given special 3 dimensional glasses upon entering and some of the effects are pretty good, most of the films last about 45 minutes, but i recently went ot see batman the dark night there. Lastly the building does house some rooms for matthew boulton college andthese can be seen in the corridor. the prices are ok and its well worth a visit if you havent been there before and live in the birmingham area. This is a good interesting day out for all the family.
