Big portions, great food. Inexpensive. Well worth it. Another of my favourites. I send all my guests here and they all come back happy! I love the salads (for someone that doesn't eat salad that says a lot). The pizza tempts me everytime. Rarely have room for pud!! Not a cheap dinner, but it's well worth it. If you have never been, then go without a doubt.

Hiiden away in Oldfield park away from the bustling city centre sits the velo lounge.
A converted bike workshop it is packed full with atmosphere and with incredibly friendly staff it well liked by in the know locals.
The velo lounge offers very reasonable priced meals with an amazing choice of tapas, paninis, ciabatta, salads and many specials and treats for those with sweeter sensibilities.
They also offer a wide range of coffees, milkshakes, smoothies, cocktails, real ales, lager and ciders. Perfect for cooling you on those hot summer shopping trips!
One of my personal favourites is the Chicken, herb and Chorizo salad which is absolutely mouthwatering!!
The Velo Lounge definitely has a very individual ambience which is enjoyed my many people from students to professionals to families theres definitely something for everyone here!

Cheap prices for a charming, touristy location. Service was alright -not friendly, but prompt.

The famous Sally Lunn Bunn is a slightly sweet oversized Hamburger roll, but slathered in clotted cream and strawberry jam is quite tasty.

This is the best indian restaurant I have been to and evryone I know who has been thought the food was great! They have a very big vegetarian selection and the waiters are very friendly and the service excellent! The food is superb! I was so impressed by this restaurant. If you are a vegetarian who is bored of mushroom risotto, this is where you need to go! And take your meat-eating friends along, they won't be disappointed!
I had the carrot, coriander & cannellini pate with walnut bread for starter - very well presented, lovely flavours and textures. For my main, I felt quite adventurous and had mexican mole, which was spicy winter veg, with brown rice and a mexican chocolate sauce. It was excellent. All the flavours and spices, Mmmm! For dessert I had chocolate tart, which I had to share with my partner because I was so full. Again wonderfully well presented, beautiful flavours, very well balanced. You can tell all the dishes are carefully created. I loved the ethic of the place too - all the wines and drinks are organic, freetrade, good for you and good for the planet. Excellent little restaurant, hiding in a corner. We had the 'Express Lunch' for Â£5, which is basically a big main course, which you choose from a wide selection , served with a drink (Jasmine tea, coffee, etc). Beer and fancier drinks were not included in the deal. All the courses on the Express Lunch menu can be adapted for vegetarians. The food was very tasty, with lots of spices and flavours. From the outside you may not be able to tell just what exactly Back to Mine is. With the promiscuos name and pink kitch floral window you may be excused for thinking it's a gay bar or hooker joint but when you enter you are pleasantly suprised.Polite doorman and brightly coloured steps lead you downstairs into a chilled out, modern and unpretentious atmoshpere. The front bar offers a brilliant selection of wines for very responable prices, also very well stocked are the range of premium spirits. Roulette, chessboards and cards are available from Monday to Wednesday to keep you entertained, while good quality dj's playing funk, soul and occasionally dance/bass beats can be heard. The back bar offers comfy sofas, candlelit tables and a cocktail bar serving great cocktails, using fresh ingrediants all prepared infront of you. Great drinks, great music and great atmoshpere. The Porter is a great down to earth pub serving delicious vegetarian food. I recommend the Nachos or one of the toasties. The atmosphere of this place is so laid back its almost vertical, so while it can sometimes look a bit shabby, its somewhere that you can take a breather and enjoy a pint with friends.

The cellar bar downstairs takes it up a notch, and it gets busier at night being a popular student destination, but we're still only talking 45 degrees here...The Porter is a great down to earth pub serving delicious vegetarian food. Me and my husband (newly wed that same day) booked the B&B for our wedding night as we were on a very low budget and had read positive reviews, sadly it was not as described! The room was decorated in the style and probably in the 1970's with everything really decrepid and old. The bathroom was damp and had a horrible smell, with the "complimentry toilitries" being cheap items sitting in stagnant water. The bedding had yellow stains on and was very old and shabby, Baring in mind we paid Â£70 for this room!We also found a screwed up dirty tissue under the top bedding.. with god knows what on, and some old makeup under the bed. The travelodge is cheaper and cleaner! We did complain to the Lady who owns it and she was rude and defensive, denying it was dirty and that the tissue couldnt have been there. She did knock Â£20 off the bill, however, then proceeded to gossip about our complaint whilst I was waiting in the foyer, claiming we were lying! Unproffessional, if you like outdated, shabby and dirty rooms then book! If you don't believe me then see the photos!

This place in legendary. The food can't be faulted. They do a fantastic value set lunch for around Â£6 or Â£7. The Dhansak stands out in my mind. This restaurant is housed in a very imposing Georgian building with very high ceilings and lots of period detail. This is, by far, the best place in Bath for afternoon tea. It is fairly expensive, but worth it, if not for the ambience alone. With the huge sparkling chandeliers above and the Pump Room Trio playing, the atmosphere is very romantic and sophisticated. The service is attentive and professional, with some waiters dressed in period costume. The lunches are also a very tasty affair, although the food is not the main draw here. This place has been here for decades which must be a testiment to the quality of their produce. We also saw their van drawing up at the Olive Tree restaurant where we had eaten very nice meat the night before. We used to shop here with dad sometimes when I was a kid and it doesn't look to have altered much in almost 40 years. It's the kind of small independent shop that we should all be supporting. I hope it's here for another 40 years.This place has been here for decades which must be a testiment to the quality of their produce. It being a fairly last minute choice I decided to visit family near Bath for my birthday weekend and so booked our second trip to the Queensberry Hotel and dinner on the Friday night in their restaurant the Olive Tree.

After staying in most of the day waiting for a washing machine to be delivered and then being trapped in the car on the M6 for what seemed like an eternity in the Friday after work traffic it was a blessed relief to get into our room - four poster and massive bathroom. There was only time to change into a shirt and then take seats for dinner. The restaurant is one of the nicest in Bath and seems to be gathering a bit of a reputation, every table was taken when we sat down at 9.15pm.

The modern british menu offered lots that we fancied but knowing that we were eating again the next night I had the roasted mushroom, beetroot, quail egg and pistachio pesto salad. Hot beetroot is my idea of food heaven and this was just as good as I knew it would be. Partner had tunu with hummus and a taboulleh salad which made for a great combination of tastes. My venison for second course was as good as I've had and the trio of sticky toffee desserts was a birthday winner although partners dark and white chocolate marquis with honeycomb and an orange salad ran it a very close second.

Sure, its expensive but the quality and inventiveness of the food here definitely makes up for the price. The interior of the restaurant is lovely and very relaxing and there is a great little buzz about the place that enhances that feeling of relaxation. Service was great again without being stuffy or too over the top.

The hotel is excellent and breakfast is one of the best I've had. We had lunch at the Crystal Palace Pub, sitting out in the pretty beer garden (under an umbrella as the weather was a bit dodgy).

It is a great place for a relaxing meal and was very popular the day we were there.

You order and pay at the bar, and your food is bought out to your table.

We had fish & chips and a Shepherds Pie. The food was average, but the atmosphere of the pub was good.

A quirky mix of cheap plastic chairs, bamboo and plastic flowers and a drinks trolley that gets wheeled round the bar to the sound of a big old fashioned car horn by the landlady. It's great fun and typically British in that odd, charming eccentric way. Definately worth trying if you fancy something that bit different.
