As I now live in Ireland, my visits to aberdeen are less frequent, but always on landing at Dyce Airport my first port of call was always Chalmers in Bucksburn for my 2 dozen butteries and 10 steak pies. The pies were specifically looked forward to because of the chunky pieces of steak, the delicious gravy and cripy pie cases. Alas no more. Different baker? Cutting costs? I dont know.
The pies were disgusting. Full of fat, gristle and worst of all "tubes". No more chunky steak, no more tasty gravy. Just an insipid beige liquid that did little to enhance the filling. 10 Pies bought and 10 pies thrown away.

Rating: 1.00Delivery Pizza in Aberdeen is very popular due to having 2 big Universities in the city but unfortunately the amount of business available and the undiscerning nature of their primary customers has made Heavenly Pizzaâ¬"s a little sloppy. Although the pizza was delivered within half an hour, inroder to make that delivery time I suspect they may have rushed the cooking. We ordered a huge pizza for just under Â£20 and it was undercooked and tasteless. I wish we had bought a few frozen pizzaâ¬"s instead. This is a great supermarket, especially for those on a budget. It's particularly handy for me, being just 5 minutes walk from my flat.

There is a small car park outside for those who drive and plenty of trolleys outside too.

It obviously can't compare with the bigger supermarkets size wise, but it has just about everything you need for a weekly shop. Fruit and veg, bread, milk, frozen ready meals, jars of sauces, fresh meat, soups, biscuits and sweets, crisps, alcohol, cheese, juices as well as non food products like toilet roll, toothpaste and washing detergent.

The prices of nearly everything are excellent, the cheapest supermarket I've been in. The cheap things also do taste nice too though!

There are usually at least 2 tills going, but the place is often quite busy, so you might be queueing for a few minutes, but it's not too bad. The staff are always nice, friendly and chatty. There is also a bonus card system and free delivery on orders over Â£25.

Eagle May - Eagle May Chinese takeaway by krands

This small chinese takeaway is located on Hardgate, the road that runs parallel to Holburn Street. The location is particularly relevant to me, since it's about 2 minutes walk from my flat!

However, in all the time I've lived here, I've only used Eagle May once. We phoned up and left our order and said we'd be there to collect it. They told us to come round in about 10-15minutes and our food would be ready.

We arrived and our food was indeed ready for us. The shop is nice looking and the staff were friendly. Sadly however, the food wasn't really up to the standard that I would have hoped.

I had chicken fried rice and chips. Although the portions were nice and large, the taste wasn't great. I had to pour quite a lot of my own soy sauce onto the chicken fried rice and the chips were just awful, soggy and not very nice at all.

A nice little bakery, I believe it's part of the same company as Greggs, so you know it's going to be of a good quality.

There are plenty of things available, and not just baked goods either. They also offer juice and sandwiches too, so you can get a good full lunch here.

Plenty of variety in the bakery section too. Cold, warm, sweet or savoury, they will have something for just about everyone.

I'm a bit of a sweet tooth, so I always go for the cakes and they are always delicious! The hardest part is often deciding what to have!

The shop is always clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful.
