Well past it's best, Once a great place but sooooo run down it,s Unbelievable. Super looking place and pretty good service however recently had some very poor black bean noodles, the meat was rare and very tough, and the sauce was very bitter, when I brought this to the attention of staff, they explained that the chef stated "that's how it's supposed to taste" and then geve me an explanation of how red meat texture changes depending on how it is cooked and how long it is cooked for, despite me being very, very aware of this already. Still paid full price for a meal I didn't hardly touch as the manager stated that they could not void anything ?!

Some people may not know good service when they see it, but i certainly do. an exccellent venue!! staff are friendly and exceptionaly knowledgable at what they do, unlike some other bars who employ cattle... THE bar of Aberdeen.
If your going to do something, then do it right.....

Ripped of by bar staff. First place of the night after having taken out 5x£20 from ATM. Only got change as if I had given a £10. Asked to see the manager after the girl refused to admit she was ripping me off, but she WAS the manager. Nice little scam going there.Ripped of by bar staff. The club is very popular among young ppl. And the entrance is free. that is why u get there all sorts of ppl. Usually it gets messy over there. Too many drunk and high ppl.
The drinks are reasonably priced and the music is good to dance at.
Its good to go there if u dont care about the surroundings and ppl but be careful not to get in some crazy stuff and look after ur things as it can get stolen.

The Bobbin is good place for students. Although i never tried food there some ppl said it was ok. The drinks are quite cheap and on Mondays they have beers from £1.
You can play pool there so thats good as well.

This is a great bar to meet friends before a night out, i have often enjoyed food from the menu and the cheap cocktails go down a treat. definatly recomend this bar to anyone who wants to escape noisy dj's and just have a good chat with friends in comfortable surroundings, Cant beat the free wifi and friendly staff. No music and no television. This popular pub is situated near the St Nicholas Kirk at the East end of Union Street. There is a selection of real ales in addition to the usual choice of beers. Food is served at lunch time prepared in the kitchen at the far end of the pub.

in addition to the main area along side the long bar there are two areas with tables. In the rearmost several of the tables are separated by glass and wood panels.

The pub tends to be quite crowded at popular times, including Saturday afternoon shoppers. Bar service is quick and attentive, and the through flow of customers is fast enough that a place to sit usually comes available fairly quickly.

Walls are covered with wood panels, and give the pub a traditional look. Overall there is a welcoming atmosphere. This was once a nice place to go and have a few drinks and during the day, a nice lunch.

We just came from Slain's and am VERY disappointed to say the least. We sat on the main floor and there was a distinct smell of urine coming from one of the corners to where we sat. Waited over an HOUR for our food order to arrive and during this time nobody came to ask if we wanted to refresh our drinks.
When the food finally arrived it was burned, overcooked while the potatoe jackets were undercooked. When I made my comments known, the "hostess' made claim that we should of told her immediatly. I quite agree to that however, after waiting an over an hour for our starters, and not seeing the "hostess" until the point of departure, I was not willing to wait another hour. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? Obvioulsy manners was not her stong point and carried on with a smug look.
Your loss Slains. Perhaps this place is best suited for the "clubbers" looking for an inexpensive night out who do not care about customer satisfaction.
I will be sure to pass the word around to friends, family and collegues.

The Green itself does not live up to its name, being largely Gray, but is an attractive â¬Spiazzaâ¬ just below the South East end of Union Street.

This is a traditional pub with dartboard. Quite small, but with several tables along the side opposite the bar, and a couple of tables next to the windows. There are a couple of television screens and music is playing, however not at a level where it interferes with normal conversation.

This is nota pub for the trendy young Aberdonians out for the night, and is possibly frequented more by a small band of regulars. It is a convenient meeting place for anyone going on to the two aforementioned restaurants.

An unpretentious and quiet pub near the West end of Union street. To describe it as unfashionable would be an understatement. The regulars tend towards elderly and male. On my last visit in mid September on a weekday evening at around 7pm there must have been about four customers.

That said i have been a frequent visitor in the past. Not for the glamour, notably lacking in this establishment, but rather for the convenient location.

Depending on what you're after The Grill could be the best or worst bar for you to visit on your night out.

Located on Union Street, in the heart of the city centre, it's one of Aberdeen's oldest pubs and has tried to stay close to its traditional roots. Until fairly recently it didn't even have a ladies toilet.

But now the doors are open to everyone. It has one of the cities largest collections of whiskies, all listed in a thick menu.

The collection of characters who drink there means a trip to the Grill is never less than interesting. Although, like the whiskies it sells, it won't be to everyone's taste.Depending on what you're after The Grill could be the best or worst bar for you to visit on your night out.
