Where to start, took an hour to get food, my other half found a hair in the pasta, burnt kids pizza, tried to charge us extra for kids ice cream, even though they were part of kids meal, ..on the plus side, the salad was ok!

Don't consider myself fussy, first really bad review I have had to give. I have been in Rustico on numerous occasions and if I ever get left to choosing where to go for a meal - Rustico is my first choice....

Really dissapointed with the staff service at the chip shop across from Pittodrie stadium. The staff members seem to prefer chatting amongst themselves at the back of the store, rather than serve customers. Even after you manage to make eye contact with them, they make no effort to come forward and serve you. And when they do come over eventually, they are slow and rude!

I'd been looking forward to eating at Carmine's for some time so was sorely disappointed this week.

When my partner and I placed our orders (both pasta dishes) we wondered why we were provided with dessert spoons. We waited for our meal with a glass of wine and what appeared to be baked offcuts of pizza dough. When our meals were served we understood the need for the dessert spoons. Both dishes consisted of mounds of pasta overcooked to blotting paper stage swimming, in my partner's instance, with undercooked veg, mine (arrabiata) with a what seemed like a barely cooked down tin of tomatoes complete with tough stalk end intact and absolutely no chilli favour. We tried our best but both dishes were frankly inedible and we complained. The Aberdonian waitress explained it was the Italian way for veg to be undercooked and Carmine chipped in that British people did not like pasta cooked al dente and if we had wanted it that way we should have asked. We were not charged and the experience ended with a brief exchange with a loyal but extremely rude waitress who invited us never to return.

Best chip shop in town. Award wins equal to another well known chipper in town but the recent quality puts it far ahead. Chips are crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle, they dont clump up and stick to each other. Fish batter is perfect, and their pies are gorgeous. All in all, best in town, best i've had in this part of the country, have to go much further south to a real twice cooked fat frier to beat!Best chip shop in town. My family and I visited Creperie Jacques on Saturday evening after reading their revue in our local rag a week or so ago. The service was excellent and the food even better. The Creperie has a great ambience reminding me of an authentic French Creperie, only realising we were again in Aberdeen when we stepped outside. Super looking place and pretty good service however recently had some very poor black bean noodles, the meat was rare and very tough, and the sauce was very bitter, when I brought this to the attention of staff, they explained that the chef stated "that's how it's supposed to taste" and then geve me an explanation of how red meat texture changes depending on how it is cooked and how long it is cooked for, despite me being very, very aware of this already. Still paid full price for a meal I didn't hardly touch as the manager stated that they could not void anything ?!

Been dissapointed with food in there a few times but a kitchen proclaiming "that's how it's supposed to taste" is very poor service. Overpriced pub grub. A superb selection of eateries in and around the centre of town would make this one of my last choices of a place to eat.
