It took a visitor from Denmark to find this one for me, but now it's my favourite place to stop for a bite to eat at lunchtime/afternoon. Lovely soups, a good range of sandwiches, plus fair trade teas/coffees. Friendly staff, Very casual, you can read the books while you wait for your food. At Upperkrust you are guarenteed a laugh. A warm welcome from all members of staff. They have dress up days and fundraising days. The quality of food is top notch, all of it is homemade. This is one of a few take away shops in Aberdeen where you can get reasonably priced food late at night. However as most of their clientÃ¨le is made up of drunk people they will not take any complaints seriously.

If you are given the wrong order, something unusual is in your food, or food is missing, you can expect to be ridiculed and accused of lying. The menu is extensive, the staff are very welcoming and friendly, the service fantastic and the food to die for.
there is dining for a romantic evening on the ground floor or for larger parties you can dine downstairs.
portions are very large but you can never have enough of ciao napoli food. my mouth is watering as i write this review and i cannot wait to return.
Menu recommendations: mussels to start, steak with linguini as main course and you must try the olives as a side order. Fantastico This has to be the best italian restaurant in aberdeen if not the world.

Musa is advertised as an Art and Music Cafe. The art is scattered liberally around the restaurant and is all for sale, prices vary. On the occasions I have been there in the evening there has been no music, though there is a small stage in one corner of the restaurant. The atmosphere and decor is pleasant, the tables appear to have been hand decorated, and all are slightly different. The kitchen is open to view at the back of the restaurant

The menu is fairly extensive and should suit all tastes, daily specials are shown on a blackboard. There is a fairly obvious Scottish tinge to the menu, which included for example Cullen Skink (fish and potato soup), as well as black pudding and Aberdeen Angus steak. Dishes are well presented and distinctive. We were on a largely fish evening, with a calamari starter and Thai stock pot as a main course containing a variety of fish in a pleasant sauce, and served with basmati rice in a separate bowl.

We left well satisfied after a three course meal each, plus a bottle of Pinot Grigio at a cost of Â£80 for two (May 2008). Service is attentive and friendly without being intrusive. On entering I noticed there are a number of flags of Italian football teams suspended from the ceiling and numerous pictures on the wall. After I had been seated at the table one of the waiters came over with a small joke coffee. This sets the tone of the restaurant. It is not a restaurant that would be recommended necessarily for haute cuisine, but rather for the lively and boisterous atmosphere.

There is an extensive and fairly typical Italian menu, including a selection of pizza and pasta dishes as well as a variety of meat dishes. I ordered bruschetta to start with, and possibly they were a shade generous with the olive oil, followed by spaghetti arrabbiata with again possibly a shade too much sauce for my taste, and finished with a tartufo ice cream. On the whole the meal was pleasant enough, though it could have been better. Staff are cheerful and friendly.

Small friendly restaurant. The menu had most of the usual dishes and as there were 7 of us we chose 3 different set menus.
we all got a bit of everything and there was plenty left over. The red thai curry was an instant favourite with everyone.
The staff were very friendly - we wanted a break between all the courses, not a problem at all.
the restaurnat has a 'cozy' feel to it.

Restaurant with a modern ambiance in Queen's Terrace, parallel to Albyn Place. Clean looking and well finished. The entrance takes you into the basement of a traditional granite terrace building in the West End, where most of the houses have been converted to offices. On entering there there is a small bar area with the restaurant beyond.

The feeling of being in a basement is dispelled in the restaurant. A section of the room towards the rear of the restaurant is raised about a meter above floor level, and adjacent to a large window which opens one entire wall. Another wall is decorated with a backdrop of whisky bottles. The uniformity of the labels suggests these are purely decorative rather than genuine.

The menu is not too lengthy giving the impression the kitchen has a realistic idea of how far a menu can be stretched. To start I had scallops and followed this with a steak. Both were well prepared and presented. In a group of six everybody seemed favorably impressed with the quality of the meal.

What an amazing place, I've used it since I started at Aberdeen College. Terrific sandwich bar, really unique flavours (try their slapyamama). The sandwiches are big, tasty and great value. Conveniently located, yes. The stay not convenient at all. The owner lady is very rude and actually thinks that she is doing you a favor by letting you in as a customer.

I travelled in to aberdeen in the evening and she told me she would not check me in after 7 because she has to go have her dinner. Nice welcome.

Also if you leave any of your stuff behind, never mind going back for it. She will have it sent to the recycling immediattely and will tell you that it was rude of you to leave anything behind and you cant expect the guest to keep your stuff.

I changed place after three days.

By far the best sandwiches available in Aberdeen, if not Scotland. Sandwich of the month just gets better and better!

Love this cafe. Definitely the best one down the beach with good food and most if not all is from organic sources. Nothing to say, I am french and never had such good french food in France ! The price are really correct (for the quality of the food, Â£15-20 pounds for the main course) and the service is excellent. Just ate at Pavarotti's this evening with a group of friends, and we will definitely not be going back there, nor would we recommend this restaurant to anyone. The quality & taste of the dishes were fair at best, and the presentation poor. Five of us ordered the ciabatta with truffle pate for appetisers, and the smell was rancid! None of us managed to eat any of it, and the waiters simply removed the full plates without any further comment (we were charged for all of them on the bill). We ordered some bread, and I had to ask 3 times before I got some at the table; I discovered when the bill came that we were charged for 5 (at Â£6.50 each!) even though we only ordered 4. The main courses were passable, but nothing great. The presentation of the dishes was very basic; the risotto looked very unappetising (more like pile of porridge on a plate). The ultimate insult came at dessert - my wife ordered the fruit plate, which only came after everyone else had finished their dessert & coffee and their plates had been removed from the table, so she sent it back. The head server (possibly owner?) then brought it right back, begging that she please take it since the chef had put such an effort into preparing it (what a great example of not thinking of your customers first!) - of course we were charged for it on the bill even though none of it was eaten. Bistro Verde is a nice little eatery centrally situated on The Green. It is crowded and very popular. Good deals available at lunchtime with consistent quality and pleasant service. The portions are plentiful - the starters in particular are enormous. Very good for fish and seafood - the linguine with baby clams is delicious. La Lombarda seems to be a very up-and-down sort of place, though for the last few years it has been mainly down. I went there for dinner in December - wouldn't have been my first choice of Italian eatery in the town - Panino offers great food and great value - but a friend booked it so gave it a shot. I ordered vegetarian cannelloni and friends ordered carbonara, lasagne and veal. The veal came, somewhat bizarrely, with a portion of spaghetti bolognese on the same plate. The carbonara was, in my friends words 'alright'. The lasagne smelled like tinned bolognese and apparently tasted not dissimilar. My cannelloni was without question the most disgusting thing I have ever been served. It came in a dish, invisible under a watery tomato sauce with chunks of vegetables in it. It had a processed 'packet' sort of taste. When I eventually found the cannelloni, it disintegrated on my fork and was utterly vile. Dreadful. It was just mush. I sent it back immediately. The waiting staff were pleasant and offered me a dessert or complimentary drink but I refused. I felt so sick that I just wanted to leave. And it was not cheap. No idea how long this restaurant has been open but I just found it yesterday. Very good experience. Surroundings pleasant, service discreet but attentive. Bruschetta starter was excellent, simple, garlicky, just as it should be. For the main course I had ricotta and parmesan ravioli in a tomato cream sauce - it was excellent, the texture great, the filling plentiful and the sauce delicious. My side salad had wonderful olives and radishes in addition to the usual ingredients and was beautifully presented and dressed. My husband had the T-Bone steak which at 700 grams was enormous - but he managed it nonetheless and was hugely appreciative. It came with chips, salad, and an additional dish of veg on the side. Our friend had the monkfish which came garnished with mussels and enormous langoustine in a wonderful tomato sauce, with bread and veg. For dessert, I had the tiramisu which was excellent. Price is very reasonable, house wine very drinkable. I will definitely return and recommend it very highly. Maybe you have to get out of aberdeen and try some decent clubs then!!!

Or maybe you just have lower standards!!!!
