French culture and the sheer trendiness of this place means that the crowd is for anyone of any age with a lot of money. Jacques Garcia was commissioned to create Paris' most talked about hotel and his originality is evident in both the bar and courtyard cafe. This bar is opulent, decadent and shouts wealth and look at me, look at me, etc..

I have been here a couple of times and fortunately not had the handle the bill. Company has ranged from French hip hop and pop stars to movie stars and never anything less than surreal. Probably best described as pantomime. I'm pretty certain that I would never get into this place if I wasn't there on business and by myself or with my friends. Not that I would necessarily want to go.

I have eaten here, but only the post midnight menu which consists of one or two steaks and steak tartare etc. Lets just say you are not going here to eat.

This place is 1 star or 5 stars depending on what state you are when you get there. Hidden and chic would be the two terms I would use to define the Park Hyatt.

2 minutes walks from the Opera, The bar of this luxurious hotel is a great place to have a few drinks. The style is rather contemporary and elegant.

This is a nice gastro-pub located very close to Arc de Triomphe. The food is great, especially their Tartare steak slightly cooked and their deserts. On two levels, with a slightly dark lower room wher you will enjoy more privacy for a drink between colleagues or friends. Sometimes a DJ is playing. The only place in Paris where you can eat moroccan tapas like carrott salad with cumin, small spicy sausages, etc. while drinking mojitosand listening good music by a DJ that become more and more furious all along the night. I always have crazy nights here. Duke's is one of Paris' most popular Jazz clubs, and the only non-smoking *anything* I found in Paris.

The wine, music and atmosphere together made this a highlight of my holiday to Paris... although quite pricey to get in (about 50¬).

Oh, and they give out free sweets at the door :-)

Great little place on the corner of the a small round about. The food is good and choice excellent, but whats better is the amount of wireless points in the local area. I counted a total of 20 with about 5 open for general use. If your lucky enough to be staying at the Lux Hotel, you will find the wireless stretches across to the cafe. And theres little better that Paris on a Sunday with Brunch and Wireless.Great little place on the corner of the a small round about. This cafe is my one of my favourites. I always drop in whenever I'm in Paris. Tucked away in a charming cobbled street next to an old church, this cafe has a true Parisian feel to it... unfriendly staff, gigantic salads, tarte au something-different-every-time, seating inside and outside on the terrace and yes... typical french music. There's plenty of French food on the menu with a distinctive North African influence. For example, an extensive selection of "bricks" (which are a lot like crepes). Very tasty. And as if that isn't enough to convince you, they've got one more trick up their sleeves... the "bol au chocolat". Order one of these babies and you are brought a large, deep bowl with a mound of melted chocolate nestled at the bottom and a large jug of hot milk. Mix the two together to suit your individual taste et voila... D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S. Perfect. A massive bowl of hot chocolate all to yourself. Magnifique!This cafe is my one of my favourites. Zero de Conduite is one of my favourite bars in Paris. Not many bars can boast this particular USP - cocktails served in baby bottles. Yep, no need to read that again. You got it the first time. The bar is v small and cosy. Staff are friendly and will often share a joke with you. It's non-smoking which is v. rare in Paris. Although it takes a while to get used to drinking from a baby bottle, a quick glance round the bar at fully-grown male 20 somethings doing the same soon makes you feel at ease. The bar is cartoon-themed -everything from paintings on the walls to the cocktail menu. The bar has loads of board games you can borrow making this perfect for a quiet Sunday evening drink with friends. Last time I was in there, a French family walked in - Mum, Grandma and grandkids in tow. Obvious first-timers, it took them a good 20 minutes to realise that drinks were served in baby bottles. Hilarious! I think they must have imagined they'd walked in on some strange baby bottle fetish meeting. Be sure to drop in at least once. I usually get slightly annoyed when Brits go to English pubs when abroad. What's the bloody point? I'll step off my soapbox for a minute to introduce you to one of the nicest English pubs in Paris. Le Mazet is rumoured to be one of Jim Morrison's (of Ze Doors) favourite watering holes before he died (well... obviously before he died... hope he doesn't still go there now). I ramble... I'm sorry. It's a bit late. I really ought to be in bed. To cut a long story short, this pub is worth a visit if you're in Paris for a few days. On the 59th floor of the Tour Montparnasse you can enjoy your glass of wine with a view to the Eiffel Tower under the music of a live piano. A nice little place that starts off as a restaurant but then becoms a club after midnight. It's quite small but has a good general type of music. Also its slightly in contrast to the Man Ray which right down the road which attracts mainly a snobby crowd. At doobies you ring the doorbell, they let you in (hopefully) and you don't even have to pay an entrance fee. A bonus in case you've arrived too early and want to come back. Overall my favorite "nightclub" in Paris.
