When you think of Las Vegas you think of the big plush Strip hotels like the Belagio and the Wynn. And you also think of a big dent in your wallet.
Now beautiful as these hotels are they aren't for everyone-some people have a limited budget or don't want to send huge amounts on a room they will barely be in with so much to do in Las Vegas.
Let me introduce you to las Vegas's best kept secret-The Orleans Hotel and Casino.
Is it on the strip? No It's a 7 min free shuttle ride away-less tme than it can take to travel from one Strip hotel to another.
By Las Vegas standards it's "small" less than 2000 rooms and what nice rooms they are too. Larger than many Strip rooms- the expected bathroom -with the unexpected bonus of a window that actually opens. the hotel has ten different eating places, a multiplex cinema, a huge pool and a seventy lane bowling alley.
The staff are exellent-because the hotel is off the Strip they need to work that little bit harder to keep you there-and they definitely succeed.
Prices? The lowest I've paid midweek is $29 and never as much as $100 at the weekend-which for Vegas is amazing.
